  1. I mean that’s not a terrible idea considering MW doesn’t experience as intense of winds as SW does. Maybe they could put it within Superman Escape and Flash so they can market it as the world-first-ride-within-a-ride-within-a-ride!
  2. It’s been like this for a while, but Trident doesn’t have a reopening date and has been under maintenance (I believe) since early Feb.
  3. Thanks @TBoy, it's great to see the renders side by side for comparison. My thoughts on the changes: - The simplified castle I expected, but I do hope it has the darker tonnes like the first image. There does seem to be a filter on the second image to suit the style they were going for, but the castle does look to washed out. It's colour is too close to the barn, when it should be a lot darker and more menacing. - I prefer the new barn design. It's scale is much more impressive. I hope they plant out the entire area around the track to make it feel like a field because the first image makes it look empty. - I do hope we get some kind of rockwork/gravel around the castle, because you're right... it does look weird now. - I'm interested to see how you will actually access these rides and whether the paths to get to them will be seperate or it's one path and you pick which way you want to go. I know we can see paths with people on them, but it's still not clear where the entry/queues/unload paths are. - The Akrham station is looking very ugly and makes it look like they aren't even using it (work has been going on inside, so I assume it will form part of a walkthrough/preshow). I really hope they are covered up/themed when inside the land because they were never pretty, but (I guess) it worked when it was LW/AA. - When it was AA, this area definitley always felt excluded from the park because of all the surrounding buildings. It didn't give the feeling you were isolated because you could see the other coasters around and always hear Scooby, but I hope they take into consideration sightlines because they're promoting how immersive this land and well themed it will be. - The entry plaza area has definitley been stripped back quite a bit and the Emerald City has lost a lot of its dimensionality, but I hope it still gives that WOW factor. LW/AA's plaza always felt empty and like a waste of space because there was nothing in there.
  4. @DaptoFunlandGuy for comparison I used this checker for Sea World’s website (which is the previous style for MW) and Dreamworlds website. Sea World’w website isn’t much better And Dreamworld’s has a lot less violations, but the score is the same as MWs
  5. Movie World have upgraded their entire website for the first time in at least 5 years and when browsing it on my phone, it seems like a good upgrade. This is the home page The attraction listing is a lot clearer now They’ve added the WoO renders to the website You can now select the day you are visiting the park and it will tell you what attractions will be closed. This new setup for the maintenance schedule makes it a lot clear of what’s closed today/when you’re visiting, however makes it harder to see an overall view of the years schedule if you don’t know when you are visiting The height requirements are a lot cleaner And they’ve added some fun facts for each attraction
  6. What do we think the delay is for getting this open because from what I’ve seen, it’s done and ready to go? Staff training began a couple weeks ago, so surely they’re all trained now? School holidays are only now 6 weeks away, so could they actually be delaying its opening purely to save money and they’ll open it early June to give them time to figure out the ride properly? From my perspective, when you’ve got half of the parks attractions closed (most of them being major ones), surely you’d want to push as hard and as fast as possible to get this thing open?
  7. Great to hear this change is finally happening. If they’re removing the lockers, I wonder if they’ll add this area back into the queue zones and create a single rider line. Every since it opened, the ride ops have had to yell into the queue for any single riders and this would speed up that process.
  8. Green Lantern is now also having issues, so these are the only 7 out of 15 attractions available
  9. We did. So therefore if you board backwards, at some point in the ride you will be travelling forward
  10. First look at the train was revealed on Sunrise this morning Here the full story: https://www.facebook.com/share/v/uKVG3TyYegWWimrA/?mibextid=WC7FNe
  11. This is the full list of all of the operating rides today
  12. Which means they could market it as a ‘new’ or reimagined attraction. And therefore could drive more guests
  13. I’ve spoken to a few staff members and people in the management team and they’ve agreed that they want to replace the SV facade and reinstate something that’s more fitting with Main Street, but it isn’t high up on the list in comparison to other things throughout the park. Because as you say, it doesn’t make financial sense right now.
  14. Why repaint Main Street Emporium then? Why repaint and retheme Gold Coaster? Why add some extra theming to Shockwave? Why repaint every attraction in WhiteWater World Sometimes you got to spend money to make everything look good again and make things feel more cohesive. If you take a look at DW between 2014 and 2019 it did not look good, but they’ve a lot of money to make it look good again and haven’t necessarily got any return from it
  15. Because it’s not a well considered design. It may look ‘modern’ and ‘interesting’, but if you properly look at how it’s been executed I think it fails. Design is very subjective, so if you like it, that’s okay, but just considering how it fits within the context of its location. I can’t argue with that logic, but why not change the theme then to make it work. The old cinema building was designed with the original parks asthetic and it was perfect for Main Street, while this modern design of SV ruined that. And yes, move on with the times, etc etc, but this a theme park, where continuity in the design and themes of lands/streets/area is key and SV is very jarring. Or demolish it and rebuild something more suitable and adjust the theme of SV to suit. Changing the colour and sign of what’s there wouldn’t help and probably make things worse. If they’re going to keep a modern design, no point investing money into changing it to something that would be better or repainting it because that doesn’t solve the bigger issue of it just doesn’t suit Main Street.
  16. Which I think is a good thing because they’re trying to target a family audience and being less corporate and relatable is what (I think) a lot of families like to see. However I think these recent posts in the lead up to their ‘Buy 3, Get 1 Free’ campaign has gone a bit too far the other way and is heading towards being unprofessional. And looking at how the posts have done, which isn’t very well, I’d imagine that impacts the exposure of the fact that this campaign is happening. And at the end of the day, they’re trying to get annual pass sales up to get more people in the get, and experimenting with their marketing style might have not been the best move. Take their ‘40 Day Giveaway’ campaign as an example. Nearly every day they were posting about it and they were involving their team members and that whole campaign did very well and was well received online and I don’t think any of the content was cringy. Which lead to the giveaway day bringing in some of the biggest crowds the park has seen in a while (partly because you had to be there to win the major prize, however almost everyone was there because it well marketed and people knew about it and wanted to win). I do hope that marketing take some notes from what Village have been doing with Flash for Rivertown. They’ve so far done a good job with teasing what’s to come and revealing some amazing concept artwork, but when it comes to track install, testing, etc it would be good to see that. But also, because a lot of Jungle Rush will be in doors, don’t give too much away because I’m sure it will be an amazing surprise (like we had for Leviathan).
  17. You can’t take phones onto ride, so there aren’t any photos from that view. I believe @Ogre has shared some either on here or in his videos on YouTube
  18. @TBoy you do realise Velocicoaster is more than just good landscaping? It's has a very well themed queue, animatronics, lighting/sound/smoke effects, a very extensive amount of handcrafted rockwork and all the other general theming to give the impression the coaster is inside a raptor enclosure.
  19. I pick option four, custom layout and great theming. But it really comes down to a lot of different factors. Moto coaster is a custom layout, but it isn’t an enjoyable ride and if it had good theming, I’d still say ‘that coasters theming is great, but the ride itself isn’t enjoyable and therefore I’m not going to ride it for the theming’. If Steel Taipan and DC Rivals had an indoor queue and preshow before the launch/lift hill then that would definitely make those coasters even better. Which is exactly what Superman Escape did and that’s part of what makes that attraction so great. But in the case of DC Rivals, I’d rather have it how it is because it’s a great layout, than them remove a quarter/half of the layout and use that budget to add some theming/pre show to the ride. For Jungle Rush, hypothetically if this layout doesn’t turn out to be good, but it’s comfortable to ride and the theming is amazing, then yes I probably would be inclined to ride it more because of its immersion and story. And if the layout is enjoyable (which it think it will be), then that’s a bonus. TNT at Gumbuya World is a standard layout and the theming has been done pretty well, but if you took it away the coaster experience is still the same, it just makes the queue boring and lacking. So like @DaptoFunlandGuy I too can’t decide on an answer because there are so many variables to consider when trying to decide.
  20. If you’re referring to the wall of Tiger Island, it was damaged on the Christmas Day tornado
  21. Doomsday’s ‘closed from’ date has now been removed. Marvin’s maintenance has been extended by a month. The Green Lemon is having issues again. And Studio Showcase is closed again (it was closed last Saturday as well and heard it’s due to lack of staff).
  22. @Brad2912 it’s for autism awareness month, so it doesn’t isn’t yuck. If they used this day to day, then maybe, but for raising awareness ‘yuck’ shouldn’t be the word used. But this shows the capability of the lighting package for the ride and I think they could do some really cool stuff if they just mixed red and yellow for this. And good on the park for investing in a lighting package for the ride, something they’ve only ever done for Rivals at the park
  23. Movie World have shown off the attraction signs lighting package at night. Kudos to the park because this is the best attraction sign they’ve done in a long time RPReplay_Final1713393894.mov
  24. I think so! I’d say they were definitely pushing for the QLD holidays, but NSW is still on holidays for a couple weeks. My guess is they’ll be officially opening it Friday April 26.
