    Demolition has begun. While it's sad to see the original tavern be demolished, I am not sad to see the ruined version of it go. We sort of already knew this because of the site plan, but it won't be long before the entire area from MDMC to the Restaurant will be flattened out. Because of its positioning in the park and the dence vegetation surrounding it, a part from peaking over the fence, there aren't many locations in the pakr to watch construction. Which could suck for getting photo updates, but will help with the surprise and big reveal of the land (something we don't get often).

    I managed to roughly measure the pre-motocoaster vintage cars track length and it's approximatley 380m

    When the Ocean Parade announcements were originally made, I had thought that the splash pad was replacing the former trolls village area. And while relocating the Serpent Slayer would've probably been the ideal option, the cost probably wouldn't have been worth it from the parks perspective. But considering we've lost a couple kids rides, maybe it would have been to make the whole kids area feel even more complete. I think long term the park likely has plans for the unused corner of Ocean Parade (hopefully some big new attractions) because if you include the former laser skirmish building, trolls, flowrider and the thunderbolt land, that's a massive area for a theme park (or waterpark) to expand.

    @New display name my guess is the entry will be on the Murrissippi river side, with the exit towards the former TOT building. And I suspect the queue will be similar to the indoor of Leviathan in the way that it will be immersivley themed and like a tunnel leading through to the station.

    Awesome gif @WalleyWorld that explains exactly what I was thinking very clearly. And as you say, there’s an opportunity to vary the coaster experience (something they might do more of in off peak) and you could potentially re-enter the station the opposite way. Maybe they will complete the red circuit multiple times so that you travel in the opposite direction and if they design show scenes a certain way, they could tell a different story depending on the way you travel.

    What about the track length of the vintage cars? I know the current track is around 360m. And if anyone knows for another comparison, what was the length of the original track was before motocoaster came along?

    Not necessarily. As the inclined turntable is the first part of the coaster, you could either not rotate and drop backwards, or it could rotate to the right (or left, but that would take the train outside and straight back to the station). So technically there are many ways they could operate this ride. You are going forwards and backwards. The train could leave the station forwards or backwards depending on how it arrived. If they wanted, they could send you through the same section of track again, but facing the opposite direction. And if they really wanted, you could stay on this coaster all day without re-enterting the station because they are using this turtable at least twice. The track is definitley shorter than I was expecting, but with over half of it being inside, I have hope this could be an incrediblty themed coaster. And just because it's short in track length, doesn't mean the ride necessairly will be. If there are things happening around you while you're on the inclined lift hill, the ride time could be decent. We've got to remember this coaster is targeted for families (kids the grandparents), so it was never going to be this extreme ride, but as already mentioned by others, there are some awesome family coasters around the world and we might just be getting one. As for the overall map of the land, it's great to see the vintage cars will have a decent track length (hopefully some aweosme themign and scenes. I'm very excited by the scale of the building that Jungle Rush will have. I was expecting there to be more pathways through the land and not just one main thoroughfair. But seeing the layout of the rides, I understand why there isn't. I also really did think they were going to utilise the former TOT building for this land, so I hope they're planning on demolishing it because its an eyesore.

    Yes, but this could actually be an impressive sight. When the ride is in its load/unload mode, you don't see water, but as soon as the ride starts, there is this moment where all of this water suddenly appears and you're flying over it. Imagine how could this could look at night, no water, no lights illuminating it and then as soon as the ride begins you get this 'WOW' moment where the ride comes to life. And Vortex at SW is a prime example of that

    The plans did indicate there will be wagner mesh decking over the fountain area, which will hide the steel to an extent. And the fountains will be shooting up through the flooring when the ride is operating.

    I haven’t heard anything about the escape rooms this year. Has anyone done one? And where are they located?

    That car was just used for prams, wheelchairs can be stored in the normal carriages, as can prams because the seats fold down. The train carriages are fitted with cameras so the driver can see the rear of the train from the front

    @TomiJ I did notice that, but wasn’t sure if it was just a dodge edit of the map or it will legit just be going forwards and backwards between the stations. I was thinking the train would be still doing to full circuit for a while, and would just not operate for a few months when construction was escalating. But maybe if they’re not messing around with demolition, the trains operation will already be impacted. I’m also interested to see if the pedestrian tunnel from tiger island to ABC Kids will be filled in and if a track crossing will be added.

    This note has been added on the park map page, which makes me think we might be seeing a new style of map coming next year.

    Dreamworld have just updated the park map on their website removing ABC Kids World, showing all the upcoming attractions set to open and a detour path will open between Tiger Island and the wildlife area. Looks like the gate next to the cub kindy will open and you will walk behind the billabong restaurant

    With the Play School Wheel set to close for maintenance from tomorrow, we could start seeing construction walls going up for the whole area any day now. It will be interesting to see if they connect Tiger Island to the wildlife area in some way so we don't have dead-end paths again for the next 12 months.

    Great to see they’re finally putting some effort into this area to make it less of a mess and easier to navigate this area of the park. If they do make it a grassed/planted area that will definitely be much nicer than how it’s looked since storm was built. And then hopefully long term we see new attraction/s.
