You know what @reanimated35, I actually agree with you on that. Despite it not making major news headlines, they did make a statement about it, and media have written about it. This weekend is all about DW, not any of the other parks. They could've waited a couple of days to release that info, even on Monday wouldve been fine, but this weekend is about the reopening of DW. It's like VRTP didn't like the attention they were getting, and they thought, "you know what, we can't have everyone focus on DW, let's just make the statement today about a ride that's 3 years away, and try and make the news". That's why I've held off on posting about these plans on my page until next week, because this weekend is about DW (a part from the post I made about WC, but that was already happening and was outside of DWs operation hours).

So maybe we will see something replace the water park in 2017. Something to use part/all reclaimed land/sea viper site in 2018. And a Vikings Revenge replacement in 2019. If that all did happen, then I believe that would really make the park once again, and truly make it a full day park with variety for anyone.

I have always wished that the Surfrider went to SW instead of WnW. Would've been such a smarter decision and is the type of ride SW need, and not just now because they've gotten ride of another ride, but ever since they removed the Pirate Ship.

I've been to the park many of times, between school holidays starting and Christmas, and every time the park is reasonably quite. It usually isn't until after Boxing Day that the crowds really kick in. That'll be the real test.

That fencing surrounding the log ride is definitely concerning, and makes me really think that this is the end for this ride too. Considering there was the incident earlier in the year, and I imagine the ride has a similar technical system to the river rapids, so maybe DW are taking extra precaution and don't want to risk it.

Thats great to know that they have got plans to replace it with something, even if it is a couple of years away. I just hope the park installs something new next year, otherwise a couple of years with the storm, jet rescue and kids rides, I personally don't think is a smart idea.

From the live streams I've seen on facebook, there would be a lot more than 100 there.

I saw that news report to @Santa07, and it was actually good to see the media reporting on positive things. They did mention the incident once, but the rest was about preparing for Christmas, tomorrow's opening, a fingerprint 'memorial' that people can be a part of. And showed a number of maintenance crews working on the thrill rides

When I've visited the park to get photos of Super 8 Aqua Racer, I've had a quick look at mammoth falls, and haven't noticed anything major

7 News Gold Coast did a live stream on Facebook this afternoon inside the park as they made their way to Tiger Island, and you could see that the wall alongside the lair which was getting the rock work installed on my last update, is now complete and there are windows installed down the side of it to see inside the lair. The cameras in Tiger Island have also been installed to show up close footage of the tigers.

A couple of friends who work there said they got to trial out the slides at WWW this afternoon too.

From DWs comment I don't think that the log ride is closing, but as the area is closed off, probably for quite some tim, having the ride on the map would confuse people, so removing it for the summer holidays made sense. Also, just a thought, and I doubt it is, but is the log rides water system connected in any way to the one used for the river rapids?

All open rides have been announced. No Big 9 Thrill Rides will be open. Shockwave, DW Express and Log Ride will be closed. I could be wrong, so someone correct me if I am, but Im fairly sure for a while now that if you bought a DW ticket, it gave you entry to WWW, but up until now you could also buy a single entry just for WWW, but that isn't an option now.

But passes come with WWW and single day tickets now come with WWW too.

I'm imagining that the whole Gold Rush area, except for BuzzSaw would be closed for the whole Summer holidays, hence why it isn't on the map so it doesn't cause confusion. But I have surprised that BuzzSaw will reopen at some point in the near future.

@Brad2912 I agree, definitely a concern with the log ride, but it is still listed on their website, so will have to wait and see what happens. And I meant it's visually changed on the map where it used to show it going around the studio, but as it isn't on the map, they've modified the train, but this might not necessarily mean the trains actual route has changed, unless they modified it while the parks been closed.

DWs park map has now been updated and removed TRRR, Big Brother studio and interestingly the Log Ride too. The train circuit has been changed, the LEGO Store has been added, as well as a tiger image on the billboard where the Cub Kindy is.

How can a software update have such major issues, from what I heard, the system was working fine when it was being used last holidays. I hope they don't get rid of it, because it seems like a great additional experience to the ride.

I personally don't think the theming of the ride will be influenced or be affected by the realise of a movie. I think they will theme it to what comic they wish to, or requested by DC
