  1. That makes sense if they are doing this ride. And would look better in the park, raher than 2 tower rides right next to each other.
  2. ^I did think that, why another tower ride. But if it provides a completely different experience, then there is no reason not to. And he is a villain in the DC comics. If that is the ride, that would explain SE maintenance schedules. Also, the demolition continues (TPSN)
  3. Got a pass and went to DW for the first time in a couple of years (except for night events). Park is looking good. Checked out MS, and I thought Brock's garage was done well, just isn't overly popular. And the HWSW has much more comfortable seating (with room to put my legs now) and better brake and lift hill system. The track was still rough, but didn't find my head banging against the restraint. I do think in the queue line that some netting should be put around the top between the walls and shading, as birds are getting in and crapping on the tower.
  4. I never got to do ZE, but always enjoyed the AvP. It was a good attraction, and as already stated, something people wanted to do have go at. I am pleased that TI is getting a refurbishment. Hopefully it's what was supposed to happen last year, with seating for crowds to make watching the talks easier. It would have been great if DW did use the building for a dark ride, but I'm not complaining. There is are a number of other spaces that could be used for a dark ride.
  5. It just seems compared to previous years, there is more theming. And is this the first time they've had the CNY theming added to the enterance logo?
  6. MW have put up a Chinese New Year themed sign out the front and another one of those rooms on Main Street. Could this be another evening event (maybe just on CNY) or just an extra thing throughout the day. Photos: TPSN
  7. ^Generally track and supports won't arrive on site until they're needed. Once the ground work is complete then supports will arrive and be installed, and then as that nears completion, the track will arrive and then be installed. I don't think we need to worry about them being behind or anything. We don't even have an opening date or even what it is yet. I'm hoping for a January opening, but that all depends on how big and how much work needs to be done. Despite nothing being confirmed, except that MW are getting a roller coaster, Im pretty confident in saying that what we have seen in the last couple of days is all a part of the construction of the new coaster.
  8. This afternoon they've started to removed the gravestones from Boot Hill. (Photo: TPSN)
  9. No I didn't. But there wasn't much to take photos of. Some of the garden beds had plants removed, and the logs that was supporting the garden/soil, had been taken out. There were bins, in which the gardens were would put the plants in. The workmen that were entering the building, also had some 'official' looking people with them (they were wearing suits, that's why I think that), and made some paper in hand, and were talking and pointing at the building, before entering inside. From what I saw today, I'm assuming that everything within that fenced area will be removed, and that will turn into the enterance and part of the queue area. I'd say that the show stage will stay, but will be completed gutted inside. Then that will house the station and start and end of the coaster. And the main section of track will be behind it.
  10. At MW now. Plants are starting to be removed (2 workman are doing this at the moment). There is a forklift and about a dozen workman who were standing outside the show stage, have just entered it. All doors are open to the show stage.
  11. What do people think is the likely hood of MW getting another high speed launch coaster? It could include inversions, which would make it different from Superman Escape, but do people feel that as that ride is such a stand out, they shouldn't include another launch coaster. But if they get another lift hill coaster, would that be like saying, well they don't need another one because they've got AA. I suppose it would be a compeletly different experience, so it wouldn't matter if it was a launch or lift hill. It will just be good to have another ride in the park.
  12. This is a very promising sign. Hopefully we see some major work beginning in the next couple of weeks.
  13. Probably just a replacement/fresh coat of paint. Despite there being a building behind it that could have a coaster inside, I doubt they'd use that since it's used for staff, etc. I'm still sticking with the coaster going in western area.
  14. Did anyone go last night? If so, how busy was it and did they still provide rubber rings for the wave pool?
  15. Went to MW this morning, and queues were surprisingly not too bad. SE queue was only about 5 minutes (went to it first), and found today that operations were fairly quick. Almost as soon as one train went, the 2nd one would come through and would be loaded. GL queue was only about 10 minutes, but today, of all the rides, I found the loading process the slowest. They weren't doing things instantly, as soon as the car came in, and people get off the platform, the next load should be getting on. And surely by the time the two cars on the track are on the brake run, the next 2 cars should be going. I'm not complaining, but just an observation, and thoughts, but I can't judge, as I've never worked in the parks. SCSC was about a 30 minute wait, and I never released they do this, but I joined the queue at 11, and was given a card to give to the ride attendant at the loading station so they know how long the queue is. And I saw the 4D show for the first time, and thought it was the best one they've had showing since Shrek.
  16. This is good news, but it says, a new attraction for this area of the resort. I assume for that it won't be a major attraction for SW as such. Unless it is and resort guests can use it as well, without having to pay to visit SW.
  17. I was never a fan of the Batman ride. I got to ride it a couple of times, and I just never got into it. The journey through it all was good, but I personably didn't think it was anything special. And despite the JL having a very quick ending, I do think it's a really good replacement. I loved the LTRR. The pre show and the river part. Despite the ride getting on in years, I still thought it was a great ride, and do wish that MW had upgraded it. I do think that JDS is a good addition, but not the best replacement of a ride like LTRR. I got ride BT a few times, including when the pre show and flame was in operation. I loved this ride as well. But I didn't find the pre show anything exciting, I remember when I was younger getting a bit bored by the pre show video as it felt like it went for ages (but it probably didn't). I always thought every part of the ride was really good, and was dissapointed when it went. Again, I do think that the storm coaster is a good ride, with good themeing, but once you splash down there isn't much to it. If the inside section had a few part turns to it, and more to story of you going through a crashed ship, it would have been even better, but probably wasn't possible due to the size of the building. I wish they'd put it out the front of the park, like originally planned and they could have spent some money on upgrading BT, but because of the penguin encounter, this would have restricted this.
  18. I remember pre shows in rides were quite common at the GC parks. Bermuda Triangle, LTRR, LW, etc. And when done well, I thought they were quite good, but some weren't as good. I didn't realise WWF had a pre show. What was it and where did it happen? I imagine it happened in that room that has two doors just before you go onto the ride.
  19. Regarding TailSpin. I personally think its a really good addition to the park, and despite being difficult to operate, i still find it fun. And I think the detail in the themeing is pretty good. But I do agree that there should be a video playing in the queue line showing the best way to control it. Or even just a simple sign explaining. That might give people, particularly kids, a better chance at spinning it.
  20. I think OceanGirl has got it though. Yes, the staff could speed up, but really unless the park expands and gives people more reasons to go to areas, then queues are going to be a lot longer. DW may lack in some areas, but they cover all ages groups, have Australian animals, characters to meet and plenty of ride choices. Really, people are going to get more out of a day at DW (especially now they are open until 9pm), than a day at MW where people may only get to do 3 or 4 rides. I think MW really missed out this year with not staying open until later. I'm fairly sure in the last summer season they stayed open until about 6:30. Why couldn't they do that again, or even until 8. I know there are noise restrictions, but they don't kick in until 8:30. And as the Suns sets and temperatures drop, it will provide more time for characters to come out onto Main Street to get photos taken. Hopefully this world class attraction is a good crowd puller and will have high capacity, otherwise next summer could be just as bad as this one.
  21. ^I can't see them ever getting another Batwing Tower. Would be like getting another GD tower. And would not be feasible (As you said). And I remember one time a while ago when I was at MW they had all 6 cars for GL going and there always two cars on the track, at times 3. It worked really well and the queue went very quickly. But since that time, I have never seen them do it again. Or if they have had all 6 cars going, it wasn't speeding up the process. So MW can do it, but I don't know if they are told not to or the staff just don't want to go as quickly.
