No there isn't a Superman character at the park, and hasn't been for a few years now.

I've always wondered about zip line as well. I just got the discovery pass, which says I get 50% off sky coaster, flow rider and zip line. I'm going to assume that it does work, but they just don't use it. And now that constrictor is there, does that affect people from getting to the zipline? (I haven't been to the park sine constrictor opened)

Sea World - Creatures from the Deep
themagician replied to Zanstabar's topic in Theme Park Discussion
A roller coaster like Manta at SW Orlando would be really good. It would a type of coaster we haven't seen on the Gold Coast before. And I think it would be a great addition to SW -
I'd recommend checking all ride signs as they do say about epilepsy and whether or not to ride. But some other rides/attractions that may be an issue include: Justice League, Superman Escape and Zombie Evilution. It says on MW's website about epilepsy: Some of our attractions are not recommended for guests with epilepsy, motion sickness or those who experience seizures. Please visit Guest Services (Map Reference G5) prior to presenting to our attractions for individual ride details. On DW's website it lists all there rides/attractions and it only mentions epilepsy for Skadoosh Bumper Cars.

Part of the reclaimed land has now been fenced off, maybe this will play a part in the COTD. And here are the pictures of part of the carpark fenced off. Photos source: the theme park social network -
Accident during Stunt Driver show at Movieworld
themagician replied to Theme Park Girl's topic in Theme Park Discussion
MW have now remvoed the bike ramps from the show and added a police car. I went a saw the show for the first time last Saturday and it was pretty rubbish really. Yes the stunts are great, and the training they've had is good, but it is really just 10 minutes of driving around and burning rubber. They don't have the stunt man (catching on fire and falling from the scaffolding). There isn't a story at all, the theming of being in America and France doesn't make sense. MW really need to either bring in a new show, or fix this one up. (photos from The theme park social network) EDIT: Also, the park has really dropped some of the shows that they had a couple of years ago when I last went, besides the stunt show, Rio 4D and parade, there is no where near as many shows as there used to be. Throughout the day they have the character meet and greets and batman comes out and saves the day, but thats it. I do hope MW add a few more scheduled shows in mainstreet, or even better add a new arena show in another location (As mentioned many times, when in Wild West area). -
Thanks for sharing that. It was scary to think though that an hour after I had been on the ride, that happened. Glad everyone was ok.

I was at the park today and went on the ride at about 12. Went down to WWF and Scooby, came back and saw the crane. Walked towards the enterance and saw all the fire engines, police, ambulance and staff telling people to not stop and look and to just keep moving. They did act very quickly and I'm they would have done the best they could to ensure that the riders were safe. Well done to MW and rescue services.

^I agree with those rides. For it to be a classic, I see it as a ride that is one that you want to keep going one. A ride that provides a unique experience. A ride that has good themeing and provides a great atmosphere.

Eureka Mountain Mine Ride reopening discussion
themagician replied to rappa's topic in Theme Park Discussion
The carts did hold 4 people and looking at that picture it appears to me that there is one dummie in the front and one in the back. -
When I think about it, I can't imagine that ardent leisure would just write about major attractions on that file, before DW had announced anything on FB or their website, because that's where we hear the latest news first. In my opinion, I'm going to say that the V8 Supercar attraction will be an upgrade to the current Redline.

Buzz Saw Harness Does Exactly What It's Supposed to Do
themagician replied to themeparkdude's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Wasn't that a test they did before the ride opened. I remember seeing on the news that water test dummies were put in the ride and the ride was stopped at that point so they could practise the process they would do if the ride did get stuck at that position. -
With the ride being open for almost 13 years, it would be nice if they changed the video playing. As The Claw said, classic episodes of Scooby-Doo would be better.

I'm looking forward to this Tiger Island refurbishment. I've alwayd thought that the area needed some sort of seating system, as at times it can be difficult to see the show. I dont know what date Tiger Island opened, but maybe DW are planning to have the area reopen for the 20th birthday. DW are advertising the 2 new attractions as BIG attractions. So maybe a roller coaster based around V8 Supercars could be installed.

2015 Chinese New Year celebrations @ Dreamworld
themagician replied to Theme Park Girl's topic in Theme Park Discussion
^No. He is regularly at the park. The celebrations sounds good. Similar (if not the same) to last years, which were good. Its a shame they don't open the park at night, and have lanterns throughout parts of the park and have fire dancers, etc. They could do a Screamworld: Chinese New Year. -

The theme park place posted this photo on their park update of a mine cart on the maintenance run. They state that others were seen being loaded onto the main line.
