Here’s a look at the Battle Boats while the water has been drained

Idea for you Dreamworld, why not show off all the stuff coming to the parks over the next few years and even tease (even if it’s super vague), what’s to come after 2024s works.
-
Marvin the Martian has proved that you don’t need a lot of space to put a decent kids ride in, so hopefully one day we see a new attraction here. However, they are restricted by the emergency exit doors for HSD that are to the left of Tweety Cages
-
I didn’t even notice that had been removed! It was only removed during this maintenance period.
-
I don’t think they’ve been there for years

Dreamworld - Kenny & Belinda's Dreamland Updates
themagician replied to Ogre's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Refurb has begun on the facade -
Casino is still behind walls, but Ivy and Croc are back. New signage has been added at WWF And a new access/evacuation path has been built at the start of the final section of the splashdown zone (bit hard to see, but it’s in the left of the image)
-
Could the day have finally come! The eye sore building to the left of the entrance of the Kids WB area at MW is behind construction fencing. Hopefully this means it will finally be removed.
-
I can confirm this is true

The Giant Drop Refurbishment 2022
themagician replied to themagician's topic in Theme Park Discussion
I had the same thought process, but then I thought that people would probably still find a way to sneak from the markets into the Halloween and would the park really want to merge them both. Maybe they can, but the markets become part of the Halloween ticketed event and to enter the park for the markets you have to have purchased a Halloween ticket -

And they’ve proven with their Happy Halloween event that the night events are extremely popular with the park. But because they have the night markets, it isn’t as simple to add a random Park After Dark event whenever they want now. Last year, the night markets didn’t happen for the entire month of October due to Halloween. So if they wanted to do a Park After Dark again, it would probably have to be announced months in advance. -

It doesn’t seem so. They do reference the night makers on the events page -
This is a no from me. I get why the builders want to do this, like they would on every other job site. The stickers were fine, having a site sign indicating who the builder is and the safety requirements and so on is a requirement, so of course that has to be fine. But slapping this massive signs isn’t a great look. They should’ve done something a lot more tasteful like they did for Steel Taipan. Still listing the builder, manufacturer and so on for the project, which I think was accessible. I especially don’t like the one on the same walls as the stickers that’s just been pinned to the side. Is any new information indicated in the article from GCB?

Wizard of Oz - Movie World Arkham Asylum Replacement
themagician replied to Park Addict 93's topic in Theme Park Discussion
I found on the Badge Construction Groups website that they are tendering for trades until the end of this month and it provides a description of the scope of the construction works. https://app.estimateone.com/s/badge-qld/stage/292336 It also indicates that the theming elements for the precinct will be supplied by Pico Play, who have worked on a number of theme parks and attractions throughout the country and overseas. And not sure if an exact dollar amount has been mentioned before, but its expected to be $10-$15 million. Because the construction company is tendering, we could see significant works begin in the next few months. -
@Slick genuine question, were you a part of the team that designed the print for that wall?
-
In regards to the wall, I think it’s great the park has actually gone to the effort of constructing something while the works happen, rather than just putting up the standard construction fencing we’ve been seeing for many many years. I’ve always wanted our parks to follow in Disney and Universals footsteps when it came to construction site walls, so well done to the park for actually investing in this. It would be great to see the parks do this more often where viable. For example, I could give DW a pass for the Dreamland works because it’s a phased process and the walls are being moved around every few weeks/months depending on the attraction. But the fact they’ve gone to the effort of designing and putting up a wrap advertising whats to come is great to see. While at MW with the construction of Wizard of Oz, they should be constructing a wall at the start of the site and promoting the precinct because that wall will be there for a couple of years (from when it first went up). And while the stickers at DW do seem a last minute addition, I do think a more prominent wrap/signage advertising the attraction or creating a photo opportunity would’ve been a much better option to see

Generally, when parks say Summer *insert year it means December. August 2022 to December 2024 is 2+ years.

@Slick hopefully it’s a temporary location and this was just where it was moved too after it was removed from Main Street. Maybe it’s going to be taken off site for refurbishment and this was an easy place to temporarily place it for trucks/cranes to access.
-
I think it’s great. The characters have been a part of the park for so long, it’s great to see they’re using them to be part of its identity and marketing.

Rocky Hollow Log Ride Demolition - Dreamworld
themagician replied to mssveattck's topic in Theme Park Discussion
I think that was a quick and cheaper solution rather than digging it all up and doing ground works when they didn’t know what the future attraction would be. More effective to properly remove it when the time comes to construct a new ride. And what they’ve done is much better than leaving it visible to everyone when you walk past. -
Construction of the lagoon has begun
