Dreamworld December Update 2019
themagician replied to Gold Coast Amusement Force's topic in Theme Park Discussion
And hopefully they installed fans with misters too to keep the area cool. On another note I hope the blue Temple of Huey doesnt stay that colour because it looks awful. Better than covered in shit, but it won’t work with the Solid blue on the bottom half -

Inside the queue does ramp down a little, but it elevated quite a bit. The majority of that elevated area is outdoor queuing for the GD anyways, so if they were to remove it (which they couldn’t) it would cause the additional queuing area to intrude on the new pathway they’ve built -

That thing going above the stairs will probably just be a sign to say ‘Giant Drop Entry’ -

Even though it is very simple and they’ve reused the arch, I love that signage -

The coaster will definitely will a gap the park has had for a very long time, but I agree and think another thrill ride and another family attraction will complete their current line up. With the ABC refurb next year too, that will take their good line up of kids attractions even further. But new rides cost money and I would expect it to be another couple years before another major investment. Another new tower of slides and/or lazy river for WWW will complete that park -

I am also pretty impressed with how this seating area has turned out. I had very low expectations for that area, but it’s pretty decent for what it is. @Gold Coast Amusement Force were the videos on SV an improvement, informative and rewatchable? -
It’s great to see they are finally modifying the queues of their most popular attractions to make way for bigger crowds, but it’s a shame they’ve removed the theming. They may still install it somewhere else in there, but I’m doubtful. A shame when the attraction had some decent theming to it

Wow, I don’t remember the last time (in recent years) there were so many things happening within one of our parks and the majority of them are good things too. -

I doubt they will remove it because it’s still provides access to the entrance for GD, but will definitely make things a lot easier -

Plans for construction of $500 million hotel next to Dreamworld move forward The development of $500 million three-tower hotel development next to Dreamworld is a step closer after a revamped development application was submitted to the council. Plans for a $500 million three-tower hotel development next to Gold Coast theme park Dreamworld are moving ahead following the submission of a revamped development application to the City of Gold Coast Council. If approved by council, developer Gordon Corp plans to begin construction of the 10-storey first tower in 2020. Features of the hotel include 400 square metre ballroom, 130-seat all-day dining area and 40-seat pool bar and a “lagoon-style” swimming pool with two spas. A report to council stated that the architect determined it was not possible to fit a minimum of 300 resort hotel suites within the 10-storey building height limit whist also providing all the ancillary facilities. It is fully understood that council would not entertain additional building height for the site and it is understood this is required to be a resort hotel providing a high-level of tourist facilities,” the report said. “The 300 resort hotel suites was a number generated by council during negotiations to settle the appeal. “This reduction (of room numbers) allows the future project team to move forward with (an application) for all three stages.” https://www.thehotelconversation.com.au/news/2019/11/26/plans-construction-500-million-hotel-next-dreamworld-move-forward/1574723523
