Mystery Red Sea Container at Dreamworld
themagician replied to Tim Dasco's topic in Theme Park Discussion
It’s a street food festival for the Easter holidays -
That’s actually the back of the train with the backwards facing seats. I thought the same at first but had to look again to realise

All parks and Topgolf are closed today

Delays at SeaWorld’s $50 million theme park upgrade will enter a second year after the park postponed the opening for the third time due to shipping delays. The New Atlantis was set to feature two new attractions, including the Leviathan and the Trident. The new attractions were originally due tolaunch in ‘mid-2021’, however was pushed back due to unavoidable transport problems caused by the pandemic. Village Roadshow Theme Parks communications boss Mitchell Olivey said shipping delays due to Covid-19 was the main factor to why it was pushed back. “Our domestic team and international partners were severely impact by shipping delays that have changed our delivery timeline for the Leviathan and Trident attractions at the New Atlantis precinct at Sea World,” he said. Mr Olivey said the new opening date was September 3 for both of the attractions. “This new timeline will also allow our team to add additional improved thematic elements to the precinct which will be a truly world-class experience for guests at Sea World.” Fans hearing about the delay have expressed their disappointment online. “I got passes last year so the kids could go in this Xmas. Some delay is OK till Easter but passes will have expired by then,” Sean Delaney wrote. This image was also included in the article:

Rivals and Doomaday closed along with SE, Batwing and WWF that was closed for maintenance. So only GL, JL, Scooby and kids rides. Not worth it. And it surprised me they bothered opening at all and then once open, went yeah nah let’s close at 12. I went to Carnivale last night and while they tried there best, I’m surprised it went ahead. The carpark was less than half full, Storm (Coaster) and some kids rides were the only thing consistently operating. All the food trucks were closed, so only a couple of the day food offerings were available. The light show thankfully went ahead and was pretty good, but no performers (They ahead in front of the entry) after the show ended.

Based off the state of the park last night, I wouldn’t expect SW to open either
-
And it appears no one has gone to Carnivale tonight either
-
Unless they have a electric locking system?

I don’t think the parks have closed because the weather hasn’t actually been to bad on the GC compared to Brisbane/Sunny Coast. I’ve been in and around Southport today and there’s been hardly any rain. And looking through social media at people who are at the parks, they don’t appear to have been impacted that much

I’m not surprised at all by this delay, once again. The fact they were still building the station this month meant they were no where near ready for testing (which takes months). And despite the construction of trident going to be a fairly quick process, with the current weather situation it was always going to be a struggle to get it up in time. But if this delay means they end up with a good product that they could spend the time on getting right, then it’s a much better outcome.

Luna park 9 new rides construction

I don’t think cute is the right word, maybe terrifying? -
In regards to AA, it doesn’t help they haven’t removed all the signage either. There is still the sign on the wall next to Scooby to say access to the ride is left (despite the gate being closed)

There hasn’t been any work on the other two stations yet. I wonder if they will reopen the wildlife store because that was how you used to exit the station, through the store.

Rocky Hollow Log Ride Demolition - Dreamworld

They also used to have this one -
No it’s pink ribbons on the track
-
I noticed pieces of ribbon on certain areas of track/columns for MDMC, anyone know what that could be for?
-
Station repaint is coming along nicely and I’ve loving the new colour scheme so far, much more traditional

Rocky Hollow Log Ride Demolition - Dreamworld

New element added since the last update -
Yeahhhhh that’s not looking anywhere near done. Looks like the Easter date ain’t happening. I was looking at this photo in particular again and while it isn’t entirely clear, it does appear that the track does go into what we thought was the maintenance building and it kind of looks like it does in that Insta story. Am I overthinking this? Is it a seperate unload station for the train? Is this a shown scene at the end of the ride? Or is it just the maintenance shed?
-
I’d agree there shouldn’t be more than 1 ride from each category under maintenance at any one time. But for the most part, there shouldn’t be more than 2 rides closed. Last year when DW had a lot of rides out of action, they were handing out show bags as people left and food vouchers to people who were complaining.

Dreamworld, Sea World, & Movie World Trip Report - Jan 2022
themagician replied to Guest 239's topic in Theme Park Discussion
To add to that confusion, the ramp that takes you from the plaza down towards Storm was closed off as well. So you had to either walk through Nickelodeon Land or walk down to Penguin Point and around the castle -

The New Atlantis - Construction Updates

Potentially, I was thinking it might be a viewing boardwalk for the lagoon. Similar to what was originally proposed around vortex in the concept art
