  1. 12 years ago, a DW/WWW annual pass was newly $200, so they did go up over time, but then in 2011 VRTP decided to drop their passes to $99, DW had to match to compete and now the public have an expectation that’s how much they should be. So based off inflation, passes should be closer to $250 now, but they can’t because people don’t see value in paying that
  2. Post has been removed, so places just have already been filled
  3. This was the original schedule from the start of the year
  4. The Westside camera has been removed while the construction of ST is underway. But it could possibly return as the current pathway will be altered, so that you can access Giant Drop from the stairs again. I don’t think the Westside has operated since the parks reopening last year.
  5. That’s great to see it’s back in use. When I was walking past the ride yesterday, I noticed the camera tower and was thinking to myself, I wonder if that’s in use
  6. Was looking at the model photos again and looks like you won’t necessarily queue through this part (unless the ride has a very long wait time. But most of the queue will be in the building itself and this area is more the entry to the ride. The opening that we’ve seen is definitely the attraction entry. There is also the two paths that wrap around Trident, one that goes under the coaster track near the lake. Based off the nearmap image, it appears that will still be the case.
  7. Looks like the aquarium has made a very small return within the sea jellies exhibit. They couldn’t get enough jellies so they’ve got coral and fish in their too
  8. @Gold Coast Amusement Force where are the cameras this time?
  9. They could definitely expand Dreamworks (or whatever it becomes) and add a couple flats there because they are on the same ground level. Maybe they could fill in the train tunnel and level that whole area out so it isn’t so up and down. And then instead of the tunnel you just have a railway crossing. This would also mean they would need to tidy up the back of ABC kids world, because the back of those old buildings are a mess. Probably expensive work to do all that, but if they want to make good use and value of the land they’ve got, some reworking needs to be done
  10. Repair work happening on the building that has been kept. And more soil and plants have arrived.
  11. When they begin to remove the queue building, station and skull, it’s definitely going to be a mammoth task due to close proximity to Tiger Island, Pandamonium, Madagascar, Gingy’s Flyers and ABC Kids. I wonder if they’ll be closing these rides and area of the park off when they go to remove it. Possibly on weekdays outside the holiday period.
  12. Here’s a potato quality screenshot from the teaser
  13. The event has been extended to include next weekend as well. But it won’t be on week days
  14. From memory, Sea World did a good job for teasing and announcing storm coaster. They just had a billboard in the park for months saying a storm was brewing. And then once major construction began, they announced it. I still think Superman Escape is the best marketing/teasing done on the GC for a new attraction.
  15. So do you think Rivals strategy of announcing it officially 4 months before opening is better? Or it needs to be somewhere in the middle?
  16. To be fair, Steel Taipan was supposed to open late last year, so it’s announcement would have been fine if the original timeline went ahead, but that pandemic thing happened. It was much the same at SW (sort of). Vortex was originally December 2019, Trident April 2020 and then Leviathan December 2020. Then Trident was pushed back to April 2021. Then shit hit the fan and everything got majorly pushed back. I felt the same about the loss in interest at first. When there wasn’t any construction happening for most of last year, I kind of forgot about most of it (except for when the track arrived for ST). But as soon as vertical construction began, things were exciting again. The opening of Vortex was something that I overlooked and didn’t have that much interest in, hence why I’ve only just ridden it 6 months later. But for ST and Leviathan I’ll definitely be there for their opening.
  17. They’ve also updated the rides page on the website https://www.dreamworld.com.au/news/steel-taipan-coming-soon-to-dreamworld/?fbclid=IwAR1omNV8cYk0LXNAzLkdQg2y5KHESmOHudtEtZt23uHjXkkCLmRe0E7UGf0
  18. I don’t think the track has been removed, but instead they’ve just put gravel over it to allow for the machinery to move down that path. And just to clarify, there is no track in that second image, the track is behind the trees to the left. I don’t think we’ll say any track modifications through here.
  19. Why’s that? He always used to make an appearance on Valentines Day
