  1. Someone ask dreamworld why they just submitted . May have been slow but I bet the goal posts were also changing . Has anyone ever has experience with this ! If you had you would wait until all questions were known before responding otherwise it can take a lot more time.
  2. Have the restraints shown been audited!!? This is a discussion for enthusiasts. Feel free to educate as part of it. We can't always speak about our current positions or previous experience within the domestic parks themselves but I am informed in a few of these areas.
  3. Was suggesting carnival rides are randomly audited by the actual regulator after licensed . For sea worlds travelling ride it may have had a license prior. Good to see an audit has taken place at Ekka. Probably for a few reasons including improving the rep of whsq
  4. The portable ride was already licensed. It does not get a license each time it is set up? Question mark as don't know but always concerned me on travelling rides.
  5. Certifications take time and you assume the Government process is clear at moment and will be timely. This is not in control of vrl or a manufacturer. I’ll hit you up for the box of matches if I’m wrong to smoke the pipe.
  6. A lot of faith in those points. I hope this is the case. Time will tell .
  7. Ie rain in electrical was a very common problem. Did also impact the ability to operate but I bet it was the electrical issues that finally forced the change .
  8. I do know how government departments work. This is not just paperwork I’m talking about . The government framework is evolving and requirements for a operational license are not set in stone. This could delay VRL in meeting these dynamic requirements. We can hope they are taking the lead on this but can not control the other parties response timing. Sometimes though companies also make errors of judgement too. One of Sv issues would revolve around this government relationship. The Government would treat VRL and Dreamworld with the same oversight mechanisms. There are probably many other problems with Sv but I’m talking about VRL here . There is a risk timing will be delayed for other than construction reasons is all I’m highlighting.
  9. Not just paperwork. For example does the Government know exactly what it is asking or needs before signing off ? Unlikely and determining that takes time .
  10. They are separate. GD was installed years after the tower of terror but was apart of the initial concept . One would assume during deconstruction of the tower track that the drop would need to be closed. At the very least for a change in signage on the pole . Or does the giant drop just get renamed the tower of terror !
  11. Same Government. Can’t control their speed or requests. You would expect them to be on top of this but who knows
  12. Even if it is completed what are the chances of getting the sign off in the time expected to begin operating? VRL cannot control the speeds of Government departments.
  13. Why not just explain why on sky voyager . Just tell the real story unless they are hiding something. Evident they screwed up or have no cash to finish . Fess up. I am thinking they are postponing to next financial yr now. New budget period and have no allocated cash for capex left for period is best case . Worse is no free cashflow in business
  14. To remedy defects / issues . It could have been a regulatory delay which I am dismissing given time passed now . Doubt it’s a commercial one . As Easter holidays would of been next best reasonable option.
  15. Hello, have not posted for a while but enjoying the banter ..not the bullying. What is occurring at moment ( sky voyager or a pull of other projects such as lazy river) would suggest a working capital problem for ardent .If had cash sky voyager would be open. Should never have got to that point if better management in first instance . Should have budgeted and planned correctly. Most businesses fail due to poor liquidity management . In this case they stopped spending due to lack of cash, but in a position where US business is mediocre to cover . Issue is can the existing business keep covering dreamworld ? Ardent is asx listed so eventually decision may be taken out of hands via share price . There are worrying signs here . If something does not turn in short term dreamworld is done. Board would be assessing land value right now vs more spend . Risk and return . Does it meet capital return targets or hoping on takeover like in the past . Does additional reinvestment make this happen ( ie the tower in 96 and hope someone buys the dream like macquarie leisure trust ) Also going offshore for funding does not suggest they can’t get domestic funding . It’s extremly common . Ask any Aussie large cap. Doesn’t highlight anything.
  16. Look up the difference between a finance and operating lease. Rivals is on a finance lease . A payment will be due at the end of the lease term the rv. It’s the way this was financed. Reduces the appearance of leverage in balance sheet but it’s there and most analysts see through it. Keep in mind the land sale and lease back. Yes they received cash but incurred debt for future . No change in leverage there. In that case they will have an option to renew in 50-99 yrs Cap ex spend is high as it’s for top golf. Somewhat crazy to be putting more capital to work when the current capital invested isn’t performing. Focus on your core business. This is going to bad if they continue on this path. The capital raise buys time.
  17. My understanding is the tower has always had its issues. In fact the gossip was a settlement rumoured after the ride completion given the faults. It has never worked as well as it should have. The reason for tunnel was 1. To reduce delays after rain and 2. to stop water in the wiring. The sensors still fail very regularly causing ride to shutdown . Maybe now instead of resetting they have to shutdown and look at in more detail before restarting . That will not necessarily solve the ongoing issues though.
  18. LEts hope it’s someone international with actual theme park experience. Still useless if limited funds to reinvest.
  19. I’m suprised this did not happen earlier. Has to bear a some of the responsibility as the ceo
  20. The sensor was at the start of conveyor. A few things had to line up to be the cause. You could blame one thing (ie staff not shutting down) but there are multiple failures which led to this. Read through the forum page where to educate yourself then come back if still confused. if it’s wasn’t complicated you would assume the inquest to Be over
