  1. So what is Dreamworld adding this year?
  2. You make a good point about the ride ops, since the closest that WnW has is lifegaurds. It'd be interesting though to see if they'd train up lifegaurds to operate rides (since their qulified, and employed as lifegaurds, you have to pay for the qualifacations), or go the cheaper option and have full time staff for the ride. Perhaps only a small consideration in the grand scheme of things, but still an interesting thought.
  3. What sort of capaticy has a Swing Thing got? During the summer Wet 'n' Wild can get as busy as any of the other parks, and you would think that everyone in the park would a ride of the thing, making queues a bit on the longish side.
  4. Makes sense Belgian. Seems that both Wild West and Bermuda Triangle have both been cloned by Intamin Yeah, Australia's version is mostly in-house, A few components were sorced out (Apparently the operating system was cheap cause no-one could get it too work. That's just the rumour though, so I wouldn't read much into it).
  5. Hey Wayne, without telling me what, or any details, do you know if the park has even made up their minds yet?
  6. I think your talking about the Top Terrace, which personally I think is one of the nicer spots to sit down. You get a nice overview of the park, with a little Cafe', fast food outlet and a couple of shops. Its normally only busy between 12 & 1.30 (For the Ski Show + Lunch) and sometimes a little bit in the afternoon. I'm not quite sure what your talking about as far as a difficult place to find your way around, but I'm sure it is in some way? I was talking about the plaza in the middle of the park, which is in the same of area as Cartoon Beach.
  7. I know what your talking about, and I must say I agree with ya. I think the navagation problem at Seaworld is due too one main thing, the Plaza. Since the park wants people to walk through the plaza (walking closer to gift shops) it does make going through the whole area a bit confusing. The area near catroon beach will probably be cleaned up a bit when/if the seal enclosure gets moved. I do agree with you though Wipeout, allot of people can't find their way around that area, perhaps improved signage would help? The park is also making things close to Dolphin Cove (moving the entrance to the 3D theater to the back of the castle, having costume character appearences near the dolphin pools that way), plus theres the water park right next door. As for the transport system, the only thing I think needs to be done there is to have a station (monorail or train) near Corkscrew. But I could (and probably am) wrong.
  8. Tell ya what you guys need, Wikiki Wave Super Flip, we've got one in Oz at Dreamworld called Wipeout. IMO its one of the best flats out there. Wayne's got a video of it somewhere, but after a breif search on www.ozattractions.com.au I've been completly unable to find it.. :?:
  9. Hey Richard, is there a link to the user albums under this new re-themeing?
  10. Ok, so Luna Park Melbourne was closed down in 2001 for 6 months, I've got one question... What did they change? Which rides are new, which have been done up, and what didn't see attention though it really should've *cough* Senic Railway?
  11. Sorry, but the idea of land animals makes me sick. They haven't got the land to waste on something that can be seen almost everywhere else. The idea of an impulse is good, but that is the last bit of real estate, and I think that they can do better. Although I'd still be pretty happy if we got one
  12. Gum Tree Gully has seen its better days. Its a beautiful spot in the park, but is without anything resembling an attraction. Personally, I think they should've left the old anamatronics show in, that way they wouldn't have had to cancel the show on the Captain Sturt Paddlewheeler, which was the only reason to go on the boat, and was actually funny. With the way it is now, they've got a theatre they aren't using, and a boat ride no one goes on (it was only doing 2 laps a day last time I was there, compared to a minimum of 4 in the past), and a very nice area of the park going un used..
  13. All the parks are using less water (SW's cut its water consumption by around 75%). Personally, I think Dreamworld is just trying to suck up to locals by pretending that their saving water by turning off the fountains, even though all the fountains recycle water. Plus it saves power by turning fountains off.
  14. Have Wonderland made up their mind on what they are doing yet? Last I heard they were torn between two projects? BTW boycotta, I want to introduce you to the idea that most park staff are like Mushrooms. How so? Well their kept in the dark and fed on BS. Not all staff know whats going on
  15. Wonderland is getting a clone of Spiderman Rocks!
  16. Holy crap! No fire? What a jib BTW... What is an Intamin transport system? I figured Bermuda was a boat ride like ours? Our Looney Tunes ride is similar, but instead of going to the black forest, you just go down to Australia. Our new Batman ride is pretty ok, but I personally prefer the old 'live action' version.
  17. Well, I really don't want to judge a show by a few photos, but that show does look particularly tacky. The fact that they couldn't be bothered to change the sets in any committed way doesn't suggest a great deal of thought went into the show. The Police Cars have still got the police academy logo, and the whole thing kinda reminds me of "Super Stars Live in Concert"s evil twin. I'll try and check it out when I'm over that side of the world, since I hate criticising something based only on the photos (even if I just did it )
  18. Hard to tell, how long is an Impulse?
  19. The latest info I have comes in the form of this really blurry photo that shows the Cyclone Controll thingie with new and improved themeing (Empty plastic bottles mainly)
  20. lol Tell that Wonderland Operator that he should be a comedian
  21. Had a look at the photos, very impressive (much better then my efforts with film ) Personally fav. would probably be the shot of Space Probe falling, even if it does make the ride look really short . You should upload all your Wonderland Photos to the Wonderland Album so there easy to see in the future... Plus you'd yet another person to beat Richard to the task of doing Wonderland photos (No offence Richie) Keep up the good work Flea!
  22. Thanks for the link, now it makes sense what the slide does Yeah, one of them would be cool, although is there anything we can do about the unsightly back half of the slide?
  23. It's a "small" world? That'd be a really dissapointing ride. Hardly worth doing really
  24. Thats the way, sadly I'm going to miss both the opening of the new 3-D film and the new and improved 'Whirlpool'. Darn it, I'll be stuck with re-rides of Oblivion, Nemisis and everything in the United Kingdom... I suppose thats not all bad though
