  1. Yep, if we go as a family (mum, dad, Mr 8, Miss 2) then Nanna comes along. At MW nanna takes the kids and my wife and I hit the rides. At SW we do the shows and other kids stuff (I sneak off to ride Jet Rescue). Would be good to see each park with a better blend of rides and attractions. Hopefully the increased prices and possible impending coaster at Dreamworld make them act.
  2. Yeah, none of them ever seemed super excited to be rostered on that ride
  3. Whoops! Still, not too far removed from an until recently existing ride.
  4. This ride is replacing a similar but portable ride, that was approved for operation at the park, is that correct? They'll be more likely to have issues with the coaster as it is a new design and style to Queensland.
  5. They'd probably disconnect the power and leave it! The most we could expect is the track removed to the top of the curve but left on the tower. Would require some big machinery to remove the rest.
  6. But is it paperwork that is the hold up. There has been suggestions that's it's physical issues like fire escape design. Another suggestion is wiring design (eg. colour or gauge used). Neither are simple fixes.
  7. The valve will require a current (power) to release it. That way it can't release by accident mid ride
  8. Will be a battery pack to release the seat hydraulics harness valves.
  9. Basically they ask each contestant difficult questions on their specific topic. Enthusiasts may not find them difficult, but the general public will be amazed. If another player steals it and get's it right, they get double points. The gentleman that won last week's was a specialist on the Jewish faith, and they threw some really tough ones at him. His questions where so tough, no one else was able to steal them. It's a good watch, especially if you like Tom's passive aggressive style of humour.
  10. I only knew because of Google and not remembering seeing it at my last visit (2013)
  11. Was pulled out in 2009. https://www.brisbanetimes.com.au/national/queensland/last-rides-for-ekkas-iconic-chairlift-20090803-e79s.html
  12. An example of why could be something like "A potentially custom built replacement part turned out to be a faulty connector that was easily replaced". Or the person behind the website got their dates screwed up.
  13. I used to have pants with a pocket stitched on the inside, for credit card, pass and car key. Sat in the crease between leg and pubic area (male) so didn't stand out. Could even pull out the main pockets to show they were empty. Prior to that, credit card and pass in shoe under foot, key in the front of my shoe. Wasn't comfortable, but beat hiring a locker and was only for a short time for Superman.
  14. For major maintenance the car is removed from the track. So it's either minor stuff, track based or cost cutting.
  15. So does an hour to me. $10 for 30 minutes sounds better in my opinion
  16. They tried, but I think it is fused into the socket.
  17. You might need to reverse the diode for watt you want to occur, but you might encounter some resistance from the other members as they try to Amp it up using the principles of Ohm's law. There's five in one
  18. It's only an assumption on my part. But yeah, simple to have a guard beam, or even just make the section within the ride envelope from foam or similar.
  19. Because they enter the ride envelope perhaps? New laws gone overboard?
  20. I'd say @Rabbit2014 isn't aware it is a funicular style setup. There are two carriages (lifts) on each end of one cable. Removes the need for a counter weight as the empty carriage replaces it. One lift is guided by a track on one side, the other by the track on the opposite side, creating the tilting effect as each carriage passes the other.
  21. Which is still 5 years in front of Adelaide.
  22. The new resort is also where the helipads are moving to. Light rail is a while away. Still fighting about funding for stage 3A
