  1. MW should do 1 for $15, 2 for $20 or something, especially off peak.
  2. Meanwhile my whole group loved it and are excited for next years. The older members loved the roaming entertainment and watching their grandson go on rides. They also enjoyed relaxing at the end watching the show. Orur son loved the ambiance brought on by the added music, both live and recordings and enjoyed the rides at night and was so captivated by the final show his ice cream wasn't touched (waste of money ). My partner and I enjoyed watching her parents and our son have a great night. None of us have ever experienced any themed night outside of Australia so maybe thats why we didn't fine it "generic" or maybe our expectations are lower. Either way we had a great family night.
  3. Went on it last night and can't agree with this more. People seemed scared of it, there was 0 queue the whole night and hearing people be concerned of how scary it is, but walking off it, people were talking about how it "wasn't bad at all". Also it was just way too short. It needs at least 2 more spins, including 1 high speed spin and maybe 1 more flip, hopefully the opposite direction.
  4. Ignore all this. Other replied didn't load.
  5. I mean its a possibility but the ride is 25 years old, sitting outdoors in the extreme heat, wet and at least 3 cyclones or ex cyclones have passed through the area too. Thats a whole lot of metal fatigue. Add onto that the possibilities of the new trains causing stress fractures as some people have raised (not sure if this was confirmed or debunked?). Now we're also mid pandemic, although Australia have it pretty good most countries are not going so well, so their spending is down. So you're likely looking for a small or new, privately owned theme park who wants to buy a 25 year old, weathered and possibly damaged rollercoaster that only has 1 fully functioning train, and then likely ship it half way around the world. If thats the case the GM of this theme part must LOVE the extended SLC as I'm sure there would be much better, cheaper, longer life options available from the multitude of parks based in the US, or other parks around the world, some of which may be closing up from lack of revenue during the pandemic, rather than just selling off old rides. Happy for the more knowledgeable people to come through and correct me.
  6. Who wins that race? BuzzSaw or Green Lantern?
  7. From my very quick google search, price of scrap metal has increased quite a lot due to COVID so I wonder if they will rush the demo to get a good price on it (and more or less may for the demo its self). Edit: Further thoughts, I wonder if COVID has reduced the cost of the demo crew also since they may be doing less work? Anyone in this area of work able to confirm?
  8. Why not meet halfway? If you have a valid ticket loaded on the app, unblock the ride wait times. In other words, if Village has your $$ then they don't care if you see the wait times and bail.
  9. While you might be right in every aspect you're forgetting 1 thing. @cthulhus_lawyer put out his position on village initially and clearly nothing is going to change his mind so you're wrong. Also it would be interesting to see the % of park apps that let you see the ride queue times vs that don't (and specifically Knott's app). I would do it myself but I also don't care enough. Village app does all I want it to do and functions well on my (admittedly new and powerful) phone (Note20 Ultra).
  10. I really have to disagree. You can tell from the car park, the majority of people going to the parks plan this day and get the before, on or just after opening. Opening the ride times up to people to plan a family day just doesn't work since if you're leaving from Brisbane, you're leaving before the park is even open. Yes I concede that for GC locals and possibly Logan it would work but if you're a park regular, you can make some pretty safe assumptions on ride wait times. If you're not a park regular more than likely your trip to the parks will be a full day outing and you plan to get there at opening. Also the virtual queue, yes its super super clunky but its never not worked for me. Even the extreme 5 hour wait time suggestion thing I've only seen when its busy and everyone else has taken the virtual queue spots (and the park was open after 5pm). @cthulhus_lawyer you may not know this but VQ is only available on some rides and VQ pauses when the ride has a stoppage. If the VQ exceeds the park closing time, it stops accepting bookings and anyone booked in better hope there is no stoppages or they lose their spot.
  11. I love your insights and little stories
  12. Fee is probably likely. I'm assuming they will show a different film for the Summer and Winter holidays each year.
  13. Us Greater Brisbane people can re-attend from 6pm tonight though.
  14. I actually think with some negotiation with the Studio, there could be even more space if required. Even if just for the quieter elements like Sub station, maintenance shed or even the station (can be easily sound blocked), or possibly a 'tunnel' built into the ride.
  15. If people don't know London like me, the red star is Heathrow Airport, London in the center and The London Resort will be somewhere near the marker in Swanscombe. Heathrow is roughly 30km from London, and Swanscombe is another 30km from London. Google says from Heathrow its a 1 hour drive or 3 hours by public transport. From London its a 45min drive or 50min by public transport. Obviously times may vary with the exact location and possible future public transport infrastructure.
  16. My kid LOVED the FMX show. It was short enough to keep his attention, there was shade around, you're super close, and the host was entertaining. No real preshow apart from music but with 4 shows a day and enough space to view, we kinda just walked up when we wanted to watch and didn't need to wait it out.
  17. The ride is designed to fall so if it breaks from lack of maintenance it still operates as intended.
  18. Throwing ideal, but not likely random dates out cause I can, and assuming they follow the 2021 announcement and no delays (haha)... Q2 2021 Announcement Q3-4 2021 Deconstruction (scrap) Q1 2022 Build commence Q4 2022 Completion
  19. Also I remember reading somewhere they were planning a move away from superhero rides for a bit?
  20. No... the film will be good marketing for the ride. Films can spend as much as the ride cost on marketing. VRTP will be lucky to announce a ride let alone market it.
  21. Work being done on it now. Car has moved off the section. Testing cycles being run now
  22. I just got here and it looks like an estop. A car is stopped on a block break. Maybe not. Harness's are still locked.
