  1. Are these songs just played on a loop or randomly? Because I think I hear some of those songs more often then others. Ohh and @Theme Park Girl isn't the only one that likes the first song a lot.
  2. I'm honestly surprised at the speed this thing is going up at, however I haven't looked at the time it took other Movie World coasters to go up. For some reason I suspected construction would be slower but it's great to see the progress made so far. Obviously lots more is still to come but from the time they began construction that's a lot of track that's gone up. Also thanks @themagician for the awesome pics.
  3. I just wish they would remove it, since they announced they would shut down TRRR the whole area has nothing, it's a big area at the front of the park where they could definitely build a new ride or even a new themed area and just rename the buzzsaw. In any case I hope something happens sooner rather then later.
  4. It will be interesting to see what happens. I hope they are taking it down and begin the rebuilding process of the area.
  5. Glad to see an agreement was reached and this event can be held at Dreamworld. I accidentally stumbled upon this event last year and it was awesome to see especially because I love Star Wars. I'll definitely be going again this year.
  6. Awesome news for Sea World, as others have said above congratulations to the hard working team who look after these beautiful new cubs and their mum. It's going to be exciting watching them grow up.
  7. I don't want Movie World to remove the theme, there's no reason to do such a thing. For me it was the first major-ish ride I went on as a kid. It doesn't really matter how old the theme of the ride is, it still does the trick and families alike love it. As they say 'if it ain't broke don't fix it' and I think that's a good line in regards to suggestions of retheming.
  8. I may be a bit late to the conversation but: 1) I don't mind some of the issues on the Wild West Falls but some others do need to be fixed. By I don't mind I mean it's not going to make me hate the overall ride experience. 2) I think the Wild West Cafe is good, it takes the pressure off the Gotham Cafe particularly at Fright Night and lines weren't that long. 3) I hope they keep the Fright Night sheds for Fright Night, I think the whole event runs well with the positioning of the sheds because you can enter both from WWF and Arkham. 4) You gotta love ParkChat Live, it's great.
  9. I'll be out at Movie World tomorrow so hopefully I'll get some pictures, does construction normally continue on the weekend?
  10. I love the movie and the brand but I just think it's time for a change, they've been updated some of the shops around the park and I thought it would be a good time for a change.
  11. For a moment I forgot Movie World had the Wonka shop, thinking back a while I went into the shop and a lot of the stuff isn't Wonka, maybe they should just give it a bit of a refresh, maybe like how they refreshed the WB shop and call it 'The Candy Bar' or something.
  12. I hope the log ride does reopen but observing it over the past weeks nothing's being done. I would be surprised if Dreamworld just reopens it without changes be they minor or what not.
  13. I understand what Bizzaro is although I could of worded it better, I just don't understand having the bizzaro theme for this massive ride that will Tower over his enemy Supermans ride.
  14. I really like these ideas. I think they'd work well.
  15. I think the Tower of Terror is on its last legs at the state it's in. It often breaks down and numerous problems leave it closed a fair bit. I think that Dreamworld need to look at upgrading the TOT or replacing it with something. That's just my personal opinion.
  16. Personally, I don't understand the logic in making a villain ride especially Bizzaro your star attraction that will Tower over the heros like superman and green lantern. But I'm sure Movie World will have a method to there madness.
  17. I finally got a look at the track yesterday and the photos on here as some mentioned don't really show the true colour, I was comparing the track colour to the colour on Bizzaro in the Villian area and to my eyes they are awfully similar.
  18. Sorry, I don't know how to get rid of the quote box. i think it will be Bizzaro, but if that turns out to be true I don't know why Movie World would want a villain ride towering over the heros. Particularly Bizzaro who is Supermans rival and from all accounts this rides going to make superman look like a little spot on the map in comparison.
  19. @Brad2912 Haven't check the weather but I really hope it's not raining because I'd assume it would be call off, I'll wait anxiously.
  20. I'm doing the Star Tour on the weekend so I'll see if I can see anything from atop the AA, I don't think you can take photos up there (others who've done the tour will know) but I'll let everyone know what construction looks like up high. ?
  21. I went on the Tower of Terror a few weeks ago and got so nervous because it's so fast and after it was finished I was like wow, that's way slower than I recall.
  22. @Theme Park Girl My apologies I didn't say that properly. In any case please don't hate me, I come here in peace and theme park harmony. ( sorry, that's my bad joke)
  23. @djrappa Agreements are reached between an employer and the union on behalf of workers, that's just how it is. Look up all the agreements the unions have made with certain employers. Yes, you're right in saying the unions technically have no legal power but they work on behalf of the employees and the government almost always accepts their agreements. Anyway, I'm done with this argument I'm normally just here to talk about exciting things around our theme parks and I hope I haven't ruffled any feathers with all of this. I really am not a bad person nor a union suck up, I promise.
  24. @Theme Park Girl I agree, I don't understand why it's a big issue now and it hasn't always been an issue. It should of always been an issue. Maybe because of the massive debate about Sunday penalty rates in Parliament. But then again, Sunday penalty rates will be no more after July, it's kind of a dead issue now going forward but the union may have a case for the past years, but as I said this should have been an issue always. @TomiJ "All set awards must be paid unless an agreement is reached between the employer and employee" - Fair work commission. To break it down Sunday penalty rates are a set award and must be paid. Furthermore, when it says 'agreements between employer and employee' that mean the employers and unions because no one employee could every come to a fair agreement because they would most likely lose fair work conditions and possibly their job. The whole point of the union is to work to protect workers.
  25. @Brad2912 Unions have to agree to dumping Sunday penalty rates, when they do it's a trade off for higher average wages. The union states that they never agreed to anything meaning that Movie World legally has to pay Sunday penalty. I know that you may sign a contract saying that you don't mind not taking Sunday penalty rates but it's the law to be paid them unless there is union agreement. Furthermore, the repaying and backdating of wages is not a "token to keep the unions happy" it's because they didn't pay the award rate as stated earlier in the quote in my above post. Anyway, may I say I hope this is sorted out so that the workers get fair pay and VRTP's reputation isn't put on the line in further action taken by the union.
