  1. What the hell? This park used to be the pinnacle of crowdflow because the whole park was designed as a giant loop made up of smaller loops in the specific areas. This is just blowing my mind how management have fucked pretty much every aspect of a theme park.
  2. I can confirm, they are definitely ripping out the concrete channels before filling them in. I was worried that they were just filling over it when I first saw photos. Once I got down there, there was an excavator with a hydraulic hammer and claw, ripping through the channels and putting the rubble in trucks to be removed. There was still water in the reservoir and in the channel that used to run under Eureka but they were in the processing of pumping that out when I was there too. Granted, the water level is fairly low, so they've already drained a heap of it. Maybe they are doing the ol' switcharoo? Take the dirt from WWW and put it in Gold Rush, then take the water from Gold Rush and put it in WWW? 😂 Oh and I have no idea what @themagician was talking about because the reservoir or at least the deepest main part of it, is still very much there. (The part where rafts used to float into before they installed the gate)
  3. So Pitt and Sherry are now working for MW too? Adding excess restrains to rides that have existed for years that don't match the restrains on any similar models?
  4. But all the rain today refilled the reservoir because they were too slow in filling it. Back to square one, boys. <\sarcasm>
  5. Someone sent me a message saying that Road Runner now has seatbelts as well as the lapbar restrains. Anyone been down recently that can confirm this? I thought DW were the only ones adding extra restrains.
  6. These final two days next month will be crucial. That will determine if the inquest gets pushed into next year or if any criminal/class action proceedings can start taking place next year. Here's hoping they can finally wrap this thing up before the year is out.
  7. When I was there yesterday, I didn't see or hear the train run once and I've heard reports of it not running during weekdays. I understand they don't have many people in the park, but really, just stopping the train altogether? Anyone able to confirm if they've seen the train running on weekdays over the past couple of weeks?
  8. If anyone is interested, I also have way too many videos of the demo/earthworks going on too. Also, the pile of dirt in front of Buzzsaw is the dirt being ferried in from WWW, it was about triple that size by the end of the day @Skeeta Yes, the dirt is being piled on top of the old station turntable area (as I've had a few people asking) Note: My reply didn't include every photo that was posted because I forums etiquette goodly
  9. It's a bloody fantastic and punchy ride and it really wont be for everyone but I think it's a great idea on Gumbuya's part. A cheap thrill ride to go with the mix of family rides and attractions in the park. It'll definitely draw the older and more thrill orientated crowds instead of being focussed mainly at families with younger kids.
  10. I thought the same thing originally. They are slowly removing the troughs and backfilling with dirt from WWW.
  11. IRide is coming along nicely. The facade is huge and slightly invasive but time will tell when it’s completed.
  12. So I was at DW today checking out how they are going with iRide and gold rush. There’s been bulk earthworks going on. so here’s some photos of gold rush and TRRR in its current state
  13. I guess they don’t need a permit because... magic?
  14. Update for @Skeeta I’m at DW and the blocked off area is definitely being used to ferry dirt into gold rush, from WWW
  15. Dreamworld would never do anything illegally. They seem like such a respectable company...
  16. You'd think that if a theme park made such a ridiculous request of WHSQ, that an inspector would be sent out to figure out why they are making such stupid requests.
  17. Or you could cover yourself in paint and go on the slides a few times...
  18. The amount of times i've heard the word "hindsight" during this inquest is ridiculous. Also, I'm dealing with Government fuckery tomorrow but I will be back and updating as usual on Wednesday for the last 3 days of this hearing.
  19. I don't believe so. If he was to be called up, it would most likely occur during this two week hearing and I haven't heard his name in the upcoming witness list.
  20. Bob was fired before bodies hit the conveyor at DW. He left in early 2016/late 2015
  21. If DW were working closely with JAK, that could explain how Bob got sent to Doha. JAK must have had a very close relationship with DW so that when they decided to get rid of Bob, they were able to pull some strings with JAK and send him into another job instead of risking him spilling the beans about the park if they fired him. Would also explain how JAK were doing dodgy audits for so long. Qatar is a massively developing country, it's the new Dubai in terms of development so a lot of companies are picking up and moving operations to over there. That could be why JAK are now based over there, it could have been something that was planning for a while. Or they realised what happened at DW and ran off to hide in the middle east where there a load of internal contracts without having to work on an international scale.
  22. That still didn't answer the only question he had. It was just a bunch of information based off assumptions.
  23. I've been trying to locate details on JAK. I'm not sure if THIS is the correct company but it's the only company under the name of JAK that works in construction. Their website states that they are based in Doha, Qatar. I found the company on Linkedin but it says they are based in Illinois and have a link that leads back to the same website as before. If this is the same company, they are still in business but it seems that they may have moved their office or they are trying to not be so public after the shit hit the fan at DW
  24. I had a feeling JAK would be unresponsive to coroner requests. They were in charge of the structural and mechanical inspections but were found to be cutting corners. It's not just that they are a dodgy audit company, it's that Dreamworld Management also knew they were a dodgy audit company and did nothing.
