  1. Money saving at this stage. Should probably open up by the school holidays, i'd assume πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ
  2. I might be wrong, but I believe traditionally launch coasters are the more expensive variant in comparison to a lift start.
  3. Ah yes, forgot those 2. 3 of these are world-firsts, or have world-first elements to them. It's a pretty exciting time right now, and i'm sure these additions will be likely to attract more international visitors (especially the Big Dipper).
  4. 2021 looks like it's going to be Australia's best year for coasters. Steel Taipan, Leviathan, Big Dipper and probably The Rat! 😁
  5. I'm sure there's enough fans out there to even warrant a small up-charge to be able to see these films in 4D. Especially Aquaman or Wonder Woman.
  6. This is a bit much now, don't you think? I've apologised, I've pointed out I made a mistake, is there really a need now to drag me about it? Extended hours aren't the most extraordinary idea, nor is allowing day-pass access without a seperate ticket. I've mentioned it twice now, all i was saying is it would be cool if the event could really be changed up each year apart from just a few costume designs, parade floats and new food outlets. As you've mentioned, specialised stunt shows (could occupy the HSD arena) would be interesting to see at some point. An event-only 4D Film? Really, i'm not trashing the event at all - i'm merely pointing out some ideas which I personally think would be really interesting to add to the line-up already delivered each year.
  7. Thanks for pointing that out. I guess I had my expectations a little high on new additions πŸ˜…
  8. You're absolutely right, it is incredibly popular, and that's great. What i'm trying to say is, nothing is changed each year, and from what I can see so far, nothing has changed this year either. I'll be happy to stand corrected if that isn't the case once all the details are released - but in years past, these events (DC Supervillains, White Christmas) have stayed entirely the same with no worthwhile interesting additions or changes. As for what both @joz and yourself are saying, i apologise if what i said came across in any way as 'bitching and moaning'. I would simply like to see some new exciting additions to the offering (new shows, more precincts, extra theming etc.).
  9. I guess it’s easy for the parks in Aus to get away with doing the bare minimum, because there’s hardly any competition.. but this event has been running for like 4 years now? They really need to breathe some life into the event, come up with something new and exciting. Maybe i’m the odd one out, but it’s just very underwhelming now.
  10. A second launched coaster? Right next to the first one? I think it would be a terrible replacement. They need something they haven't done before.
  11. Out of curiosity, what is everyone's thoughts on what theme it would be if it was moved to Seaworld?
  12. Do they have to pay for licensing per ride? I would’ve thought it’s an overall fee for the DC property itself.
  13. Care to back that up with some reasoning? I'm quite intrigued 🧐
  14. There would be notable damage all over the structure, not just at the top - which is what has been removed.
  15. I didn't think the problem was that Tom Hanks was allowed in.. it was that QLD Gov. allowed him to isolate in a multi-million dollar penthouse, while regular repatriated Australians had to stay in a small hotel room πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ
  16. Surely they knew what they would be receiving. Past projects from the company would've been a pretty good indicator as to the quality of the final product.
  17. Wouldn't the 3 million also include the complete repainting of the castle and showstage, removal of all the animatronics and theming, and the addition of their own theming which wasn't the projection mapping (e.g. elevator TV's, animations, tiki room, lasers, glass box)?
  18. Shhhh.. 30 metres sounds better and gets more clicks.
  19. To be fair, it probably should raise some eyebrows. Obviously the investigation has only just begun, but considering the semi-recent overhaul in the safety standards and procedures of amusement rides, this should be a major concern if it turns out the operators are at fault. In saying that, it was only back in 2013 or 2014 i believe, when the young girl at the Adelaide show was killed from the Air Max 360? That accident is very rarely mentioned anymore, and hasn't been for quite some time.
  20. So, so sad. I find it quite appalling that the show decided it would be a good idea to continue on and finish the night. Just out of respect alone they should've closed the doors.
  21. That's completely different. Sea World is based around marine conservation, and has always intended to be focussed on that. Whereas Dreamworld was originally intended as a theme park with a few Australian animals, and has slowly expanded to also include Tigers. Dreamworld also has far more rides and attractions than Seaworld does.
  22. I never really thought they were genuine rumours, more just wishful thinking?
  23. Hard to believe the ride time is only 2:40 minutes, it certainly feels a lot longer in there - which is a good thing, i'd say.
