  1. What I assume to be scenic pieces for Vortex are currently being stored in Nickelodeon Land
  2. I do think realistically HWSW has no more than 5 or so years left in it, and once gone I’d love to see another coaster there. I think the best fit would be a Gerstlauer Infinity coaster, like Hangtime at Knotts. Would fit nicely in the footprint and a good fit aesthetically for both the parks skyline and the ocean parade theme - it’d be great to keep the WWW coaster/slide interaction too.
  3. Some BTS pics of the Fully 6 Slide Tower construction as found on Instagram
  4. While I completely understand why some enthusiasts would rather see TOT go, I personally think the refurb is a great move - because as long as DW have TOT, they get to say that they have the tallest and fastest roller coaster in Australia regardless of how much better Rivals is and that is a huge drawcard. I think a refurb would be really well received by the GP too cause it's a bit of a nation-wide inside joke that TOT reaches a pretty pathetic spot on the tower these days and has for many years. Getting it back to the heights (and speed) it used to reach would make it a notable flagship attraction for the park again.
  5. Dreamworld mentioned it in the comments of a Facebook post. They also said they’re currently in the first stages of pre-construction and they’re releasing a video of the Coaster rendering in the coming days, which means we may get some details such as the name/theme and a rough opening date estimate (although I feel like they’d be hesitant after SV)
  6. I had a feeling this would be the new addition since Mack have been palming out this model to various parks in Asia recently. I rode Blue Fire at Europa Park a few years back and really enjoyed it - it’ll be a great and much needed addition to Dreamworlds line up!
  7. TOT is scheduled to go back into maintainence in just a few days though.. so essesntially DW have randomly opened the ride for a couple of days in the middle of its annual maintainence? And they’ve closed Tailspin only for the few days TOT will be open.
  8. Came across this on Instagram today - looks like the long downtime for HWSW has more to do with a bit of a train refurb?
  9. Buzzsaw was back open today - but wipeout did break down in the afternoon and has been shut since.
  10. Temporary fences are gone! Not the Boxing Day opening we were hoping for but at least all construction is completed. The curb entrance is just blocked off by a few retractable belt stanchions now.
  11. Tailspin and the rip have also reopened early from maintainence, and escape from Madagascar will be reopening on Boxing Day rather than early January. This means dreamworld/www will be starting the summer holiday rush with only 1 planned ride closure (HWSW).
  12. Sky Voyager now shows on ride express (and Zombie Evolution has been removed)
  13. I know that.. lol. I’m just saying there are parts of that original set that were sacrificed in favour of something that was meant to be technically stunning and wowing riders - and it’s not. Don’t get me wrong, I love the new set additions but the tech stuff is just so bad. The ‘next generation’ potential was there and we were pretty convinced they were going to execute it well. But they didn’t 🤷🏼‍♂️
  14. I’ve been waiting for someone to say this! I work with projection all the time and have seen just about every example of projection mapping ever - the quality of this apparent “refurb” is atrocious and I’ve seen better content created by students. It’s not even projection mapping technically speaking, because it’s not being mapped to anything. Projection is so easy to make look tacky and I think movie world have just shown that you’ll never beat the charm of a physical set.
  15. Buzzsaw re-opening was just pushed back to after christmas, HWSW to mid feb plus Escape from Madagascar and Hydrocoaster to early January. Wipeouts maintenance was also put back up to what it originally was before the breakdown last month.
  16. The reopening date for SDSC has been pushed back a week to dec 16th
  17. Ride express has been showing MDMC and Wipeout as closed for a few days which is probably why a lot of people on here are under the impression they haven’t been operating.
  18. Dreamworld have done another shuffle of their maintenance dates, most significantly pushing HWSW’s opening back again to December 30th and Tailspin will now be down for all of December instead of the two weeks that was originally planned for the end of this month. Wipeout is still listed as open on the website but from what I’ve heard hasn’t been in action since it broke down? Can anyone confirm if it’s been up and running or not?
  19. A video of the i-Ride structure inside the building found on instagram, looking like most of the main framework for where the gondolas sit is complete. This also pretty much confirms the ride will have a 60 seat capacity over 6 seperate gondolas, over 2 levels, facing the same orientation as the original dreamworld cinema. The caption of the post also states that the gondola installation will be happening very shortly.
  20. Motocoaster is down today meaning that only 4/9 big thrill rides are operating and the only coaster open at the park is Escape to Madagascar. Lol.
  21. Spoke too soon. It appears wipeout is now back open for business!
  22. Yet again, Tower of Terror's reopening date has been pushed back another 2 weeks. Buzzsaw and HWSW's dates remain the same and Wipeout still has no reopening date as of now. I also noticed that Tailspin has had its maintenance period shorted slightly, and will only be down from the 22nd of this month until the 31st.
  23. Jesus. Just when you think it can't get any worse, it does. I feel bad for Dreamworld, rides closing left right and centre and the whole coronal inquest. God I hope they can pull it together in time for the opening of the i-Ride (Although I doubt they will, SIGH).
