  1. At least the video for ST doesn't scream at me "BY NOW ALL LOOSE ITEMS INCLUDING ANYTHING IN YOUR POCKETS SHOULD HAVE BEEN LEFT WITH A FRIEND OR IN THE LOCKERS AT THE ENTRANCE" at an ear shattering volume.
  2. I would, even more so than DCR backwards! We don't have a modern spinning coaster here so I definitely see the appeal of it, plus I've heard good things about coasters like Ride to Happiness to justify spending the $25 on it!
  3. Can confirm the track roar is very limited especially when compared to its predecessor, from what I've seen during tests. Must have put sand in the track to dampen the noise presumably. Tire launch is very quiet as well. You'd think nothing would go wrong but residents that are opposed to LPS operating as a theme park entity will prove otherwise, but that won't amount to much anyway
  4. On a positive note, at least decals have been applied to the facade in front of the BD station to make it look somewhat authentic and faithful to the intricate facade that it sits next to. Almost serves as a juxtaposition to what sits at Maloney's Corner at present, a bunch of flats plonked on a parking lot with hardly any presentation work done whatsoever. The banner is an embarrassment but people have joked about it to death at this point. Even the cheap new screen printed signs at MW look better.
  5. Isn't this just pretty much identical logic that anti vax use to justify why they don't take other vaccines?
  6. I honestly thought it would have a little bit more speed at the s-bend but generally the pacing seems pretty good overall and is what I expected. Even then it is easily better to watch in person as videos typically don't do coasters much justice.
  7. Shockwave is facing supply chain issues relating to parts coming out of Europe which explains why maintenance on it has been delayed
  8. BD finally full circuit testing (courtesy of coasterlifeau instagram) bd test.mp4
  9. The track record is there the residents complained when Big Dipper was built, when the park reopened with Wild Mouse and the Ranger, when Hair Raiser was built, and when they tried to build Volare, and now this. I would say they are opposed to LPS operating in its current form. After all every new ride addition there in the last 10 or so years has been met with scorn from residents.
  10. BD is testing with water dummies no full circuit tests yet. IMG_0544.MOV
  11. Good old reliable Boxing Day openings are a staple of Australian theme parks so I'll put the 26th down as my guess
  12. Notwithstanding the current plans for the site, the likelihood Village ever works with S&S again is pretty much slim to none considering the last product they bought from them had a fault that nearly killed people
  13. Some bits of the blue train are still sitting under the coaster and is not on the track yet, unlikely we see a return to testing until next week potentially at this point in time
  14. Look it is literally the first day of testing and they have tried to calibrate the launch system which has resulted in a valley. Cut LPS a bit of slack, still at least more than a month away till opening and you are already sledging them
  15. If I were to guess probably has something to do with supply chain issues relating to spare parts, something other Zamperla rides have issues with here
  16. Or alternatively, video footage edited out and uploaded here. Full cycles should be coming any day now or maybe we might get something out today once the launch calibration is completed Untitled.mp4
  17. Because water parks exist, most of the time being a second gate. Who will want to go on a log flume when there's heaps of water slides right next door? It just becomes a redundant attraction, especially Rocky Hollow in its last years with the roofs. Most people going to DW will likely end up doing stuff at WWW anyway, especially in summer which is where the crowds are, and especially now that WWW is on the same ticket. Sky Voyager does a superior job at keeping guests cool, and a well air conditioned dark ride does a better job as well! The likes of Vikings and WWF work when they are the only water attractions in their parks without anything next door, and Rapids/Rocky Hollow did in their time as well but you can't say the same thing about DW anymore. I get it's probably not the same at DW, but my numerous visits to Adventure World highlight a very unique culture of people going on rides like Abyss, Rampage or Black Widow in nothing but drying board shorts and thongs, then go straight to a water slide or the big pool after that. I do think this is a decent model for them to follow.
  18. A hot take here but there is no reason to add a log flume when WWW exists as a second gate literally next door that is covered in the price of admission. There's a reason there's been a trend towards parks getting rid of them in recent years. It would make more sense to put in a dark ride or a family thrill coaster (such as a spinner) if you want to put a family ride in (which I agree DW needs to look to next). Both would be better (and far more unique) additions.
  19. Or possibly another ex DW ride making the journey to Funfields? Either or at this point, AW also could have bought a 2nd coaster for unders
  20. Yes and no. Dreamworld building shorter rides like ST theoretically allows for better execution of 'sight lines' (think Disney) which is one of the best things you can do to make a park immersive, but no park in Australia does this these days. Theming and immersion aside, first impressions matter, and the driving-to-the-gate view of DW will look far better once ST is open than what it used to be, which was a shitfest of big faded junk that makes the park look like Six Flags.
  21. Track looks like it isn't welded off so it was bought
  22. Probably won’t go till BD opens. Which shouldn’t be too long from now
