  1. Why wouldn't it be? if it is not impacted by the contruction why close a revenue stream?
  2. I don't think the park puts out press releases for such things..
  3. If by few you mean 7 years ago... The Mummy is completely irrelevant currently, and whilst there is a new rehash landing mid 2017, it seems a strange thing to bring back to me - I don't believe it was an in house production (someone can correct me if I am wrong), so I would doubt the set up we saw back in 2008 would still be running anywhere
  4. To illustrate a little better... 8 (Brown) is DW 1 (Red) is 'Activity Centre' the dotted line marks the boulevard linking the train station to DW entry
  5. Makes sense TPN the original Coomera Town Centre master plan showed an entertainment precinct (restaurants/cafes/bowling etc) to the south of Foxwell Rd (opposite the Town Centre itself) leading down towards a new/alternate entry to DW located roughly where the studios are located
  6. Strange strange question... There are plenty of wooden coasters than reside in warm/hot climate countries (Australia included). Bushfires? In Oxenford? Maybe if you were building it in the middle of Lamington National Park it may be a concern... The current grass overflow isn't big enough by half to accommodate a range and the actual building/facilities. I could be wrong but believe that's the proposed site for the hotel anyway
  7. Scream may not have been overly scary, but I dark, dimly lit maze with ghost face running/jumping out would be a great maze imo...
  8. Rage... Road rage... Road... Cars thats how my head works haha
  9. From memory the choice was cannibal clowns and some other generic 'theme' (I don't know why but I want to say it had something to do with cars - death race? Or road kill?)
  10. There is more than enough vacant or semi-vacant land that wouldnt require the added difficulty of 'filling-in' a swamp...
  11. Have you ever been to a driving range? Have you looked at the size of a top golf site?
  12. I think clowns is a great concept/theme for a maze, I just think that the previous ones haven't been pulled off well enough
  13. Serves me right haha, 5am isn't a good time for identifying humour
  14. 5,427,000 is their total park attendance for the year, I didn't see a seperate FN attendance figure
  15. Sounds like they will incorporate Carnivale into some sort of Easter theme. Not particularly complimentary themes on the surface but interested to see what they do with it
  16. Whilst not as detailed, Village Roadshow had a pretty dismal year.. * Net profit down 64pct to $15.7m * Income from continuing operations up 7.0pct to $1.07b * earnings from the company's theme parks, including those on the Gold Coast and in Las Vegas, rose by $500,000 to $88 million Couple of things to note from the release today! So confirmation that our 2017 coaster won't be seen prior to the end of the year as expected, and new HWSD and OS shows
  17. Aware of that but it's a very different circumstance. Evil within was riding the hype train for months prior to release and the collaboration for the maze was a cross-promotional opportunity. Rings has no hype, I didn't even know they were making a new one until 2 days ago, and as I stated above, there is not a lot of scope for maze scenes and characters in that film
  18. Well it launched in October 2014 so basically at the same time. I don't see Rings as a likely option though. There isn't a whole heap of scope to the ring movies, there is only so many scenes of Samara climbing through a tv you can put in a maze
  19. Well I suggested that a couple months or so ago. As Alex said, strange to bother with it now, unless it was delayed in production for some unforeseen reason.
  20. Wow don't restrict your range so much... that's only almost 50% of the time frame between now and opening night..
  21. Interestingly, Ardent Leisure announced the sale of their entire health club Division on the back of recently selling off their marina's. Part of their strategy to become a 'Global Entertainment Company' with the $260m from the sale to be largely invested into opening further Entertainment Centres in the US. Whilst this doesn't indicate a likeliness to sell DW (which would fit within an 'entertainment' capacity, it does show that they see the majority of their future business being US based, and that they are not adverse to selling for the right price. interesting times ahead I am sure.
  22. I think we all got that it was a joke bladex. A over-used, out-of-date and unnecessary one...
