  1. Definitely noticed the rattle/Shake in row 10 and backwards. Not sure if I was on the same train for both those cycles though.
  2. Pretty sure there was a lot of work going on in and around SeaCorkViperScrew just before they announced it wouldn't reopen....
  3. Ehh... well I can comfortlbly say I was wrong having had my first rides today. In saying that, I'd never been on a hyper prior to today so I was making assumptions based on practically nothing... good one Brad.... haha
  4. Finally got my first rides in this morning. Would have been an awesome time to marathon it given there wouldn't have been more than 40-50 people re-riding. Unfortunately I only had a small window to stay due to work, but between 8:35 and 9am I got 3 rides, knocking off Front Row, Row 10 & Backwards. Only wait was for backwards with most trains despatching with 8-10 vacant seats. Front Row for the first ride of the day and my first experience on this ride was amazing. As someone who hasn't done the overseas trips most of you have, it was hands down the best coaster experience I've ever had. Smoothness, speed, freedom in restraints, it was epic! Row 10 was super fun, with snaps of extra speed and acceleration. A bit less smooth than the front but worth it for that force on the first drop. Backwards was a crazy experience. The highlight is probably the lift hill and the hanging feeling you get. Like row 10 not as smooth as the front of the train. I did find it a little nauseating, which isn't something I've experienced before on coasters. I definitely wouldn't have been able to do back to backs in the backwards seats. Glad I experienced it but probably wouldn't rush back into it given the upcharge and that fact I preferred the front. Will definitely jump in the back again at FN's though to get the night experience. Amazing 10/10 for mine
  5. Can't speak to other states or areas, but on the GC it's had a lot of coverage. Advertised on radio in almost every ad run during breaky/drive Time peak, cinema advertising, tv, bus shelters, billboards etc
  6. Seems DCR is having the desired effect in drawing all the locals and tourists to MW DW is deserted.. weekend and school holidays and no waits on any kids rides... great for my son and I, not so much for DW...
  7. Probably for the same reasons he can't fly or cop bullets to the chest... he's not really Superman (shhhhhhhhhh)
  8. Jason Momoa aka Aquaman went for a spin this afternoon too which is pretty cool. Hope they involve him in the opening tonight
  9. Passholder ID works for your member number. Memberships are technically a high level of VIP pass so why would they miss out?
  10. Best thing about those FB reviews is the lady who wrote that her daughter burnt her hand on a spoodle whilst trying to put sauce on her pasta! How long was the dog in the sun to get that hot? And since when are dogs welcome in the park, let alone Ricks?
  11. I doubt we'll see another coaster at MW in the next decade. It would be compared to DCR, so if it's not gamechanging it would be considered a poor cousin, and if it is gamechanging it's effectively competing against its own product. DW desperately needs a quality coaster to bring the crowds back. Nothing brings crowds like coasters (hence the propensity of these being the choice attractions at our parks). SW desperately needs a coaster too. Family rides are awesome, and certainly I feel DW probably has the running in that market currently, and that may remain their focus, they don't appear too intent in entering a "my coaster is better than yours" war with MW, due to the investment required. The important thing to note is that a well-themed immersive dark ride, especially with no existing building to utilise, is going to set you back pretty similar money to what has been spent on DCR. That's when ROI comes in, and will a $30-40m dark family ride have people lining up 200 deep "just incase" it opens today as a new coaster does... the likely answer is no, which is why funds are diverted elsewhere
  12. Cheers for the detailed review. Totally bummed I haven't had a ride yet. Maybe sometime this week I hope!
  13. The supervillains area at MW is as well themed as any universal park I've got recollection of. WWF whilst dated is well themed Scooby was, and by all accounts will Return to being, well themed. I've no doubt family attractions are in the pipeline, but I seriously doubt that equates to a dark ride given the availability of space and cost of building a soundstage/building to house the ride. **apologies as this is another thread derailed now***
  14. The matrix exhibit was a temporary attraction. It stayed whilst relevant. If it was still open today they'd be lucky to get 10 people in there a day.. LTRR became too costly to upkeep. Classic, fan fav no doubt but everything has a lifespan and Re-investment requires a Return. It's all well and good to keep maintaining attractions but if doing so doesn't sustain or increase patronage at a reasonable level it's bad business
  15. I've only got this morning free so I'll be taking a chance on it being open from 10 and getting down there early haha
  16. So does anyone think the 'VIP/Members' so called "first to ride" privileges will actually occur? Early access sometime next week? Is there a point considering if will likely spend a decent chunk of the next 5 days open prior to the official launch on Thursday?
  17. Driving past this morning and they still had a crane/worlds tallest cherry picker with workmen working on the bottom of the Joker head where it joins to the supports
  18. Did a drive about a 30mins ago but unfortunately no illumination on the Joker head
  19. is there an unwritten rule that you can't soft open rides on a Monday??
