  1. Drive past it on the commute daily and I've seen it like that 4 or 5 times before. I've never ever seen a blank board. What you are seeing is remnants of multiple strips of old billboards.
  2. Dunno if you are Serious or joking, but that's just the backing of the billboard. It's always exposed for a day or two when they are changing the boards over. It's not a criptic message or some artsy fartsy marketing campaign
  3. Not particularly. The sooner our Parks become activity/precinct hubs outside their regular operating hours and start generating additional revenue streams, the sooner we'll see increased capital expenditure in response to the increased visitor numbers and avg. spend. I think Top Golf is going to be a massive success for VTP.
  4. But are workcover physically sending out engineers to check the physical ride over once a year, or are they simply auditing the books/records provided by the company?? What failsafe checks are being run to ensure the books and records are not doctored? for the large majority of the population, motor vehicle travel is essential to life, so any real or perceived risks associated with that travel have to be accepted to live a normal life. Plenty of people shy away from overseas travel due to a fear of flying, because overseas travel isn't essential, so if an individual can't rationale the risk vs reward they won't fly. Going on a ride is certainly not essential, When I analyse the risk vs reward for a travelling ride, there is no reward worth the risk. I'd sooner jump on a plane overseas than go on a travelling ride. But hey, that's just me..
  5. Yeah, jumping the gun, I know. Probably because I'm firmly in the "carnival rides are not as safe or thoroughly regulated" camp. I know that's not a popular opinion on here, but that's where I stand...
  6. Excessive corrosion isn't fast onset... maintenance checks & standards therefore lacking or non-existent
  7. I'd say we'll have a Joker face shortly, crane is up and running, multiple people at top of lift hill
  8. Who goes trespassing in a button up shirt? What a novice... Tshirt & a Baseball cap as a minimum. Damn rookie... Is that David Klemmer?
  9. With the studios being handed over to the government in January in preparation for the Games, i don't think there is any major productions heading in after Aquaman raps at the end of Sept
  10. So you are asking that the best ride in the Southern Hemisphere has height restrictions that limit it to about 10% of the population.
  11. Great story, I'd never heard that such a place existed, but think it's absolutely amazing that it does. Great find @Reanimated35
  12. Penguin Encounter Exhibit is mentioned. That's the name of the exhibit, not the upcharge animal experience
  13. Has there been a sighting of the Joker 'topper' as yet? I'd assume that will go up soon whilst the white crane is in place. Once that's done there is no more use for it so can't see it hanging around for long
  14. Wanda is selling the majority of their theme park interests, I don't think that's an area they are looking to expand on anymore
  15. Whilst it would be nice, I certainly don't expect any animatronics, just some statues akin to the Joker outside AA or some of the character models in JDS
  16. I have an issue with it, you don't promote something at a time when guests can't experience it. Not everyone is savvy enough to jump on the maintenance page to check that the things they're promoting are actually open.
  17. Definitely Brainiac (hasn't appeared in any DC movies or tv shows, nor is planned for the JL movie). He is a pretty well known villain though to those familiar with the Superman and JL comic series. Zooming in it definitely looks like Poison Ivy in the forest scene. Hoping we see a bit more intricate/3D statues of some characters, and not just GL level theming, even if it's only a couple of the major players (Bats, Supes, Joker, Catwoman) inside the queue house
  18. If any get flogged they can head down to Bargain Mania and get replacements for $8..
  19. Final lift hill support structure is now being secured in place.
  20. I haven't ridden since the initial theming was removed, but is there much Scooby specific themeing left inside? 7 weeks is a decent chunk of time to theme a ride
  21. Whilst I speak with no inside knowledge, I can comfortably state the likelihood for the SDSC receiving a complete re-theme is exponentially higher than what the chances of Rivals being a Marvel Coaster was
  22. Naa that can't be case.. TPSN has been posting 2 year old photos captioned with "info coming soon" for the past 6 months....
  23. Some great ideas Slick some plans and documents I read many years ago when the Town Centre master plan was before council referenced an entertainment/restaurant precinct opposite Westfield and between Foxwell Rd & a new entry gate to DW. I know at the time Ardent were interested in an AMF centre as part of that. this was however many years back, so I'm not sure if those plans remained part of the approved master plan for the area
  24. In the raw video, it is fairly clear to see that the seating structure at the end of the lowest arm collects the lip of the floor (the point at which the floor lowers down) as it swings through. I'm not sure how that is possible unless there was some sort of drop or lowering of the entire arm during that swing, as I imagine that the lip/joining point could not have moved between swings. Even if the floor had somehow reset to its loading position, (Which doesn't look the case from the footage) I imagine the result would have been that the passengers legs would have collected the floor on the swing, as opposed to the physical arm itself
