  1. 2 hours for TOT? Did it break down while you were in the queue???
  2. For a second there I was wondering how/why you were in the croc enclosure looking out at the park guests.
  3. Fair enough, certainly wasn't the case though. Should have made it more clear. Not my issue to push, I'm not in the industry and as a retail manager I have enough problems dealing with the Retail Workers Union without worrying about other unions and industries pay conditions
  4. Not posted as propaganda or political in nature @djrappa was posted to a GC community FB page this morning, and as relative to our parks, I posted it. Was not a rally cry for protestors, and surely my firmly tongue in cheek statements about free bbqs and it being a hoot were clear evidence of that.
  5. Free BBQ this weekend in the Movieworld carpark. Sounds like it will be a hoot.. *Edit* for clarity, the below is quoted text, not my own opinion (of which I have none on this matter as it doesn't effect me) The AWU will be holding a mass rally and BBQ out the front of Movie World on Saturday 18 March to protest Village Roadshow Theme Parks (VRTP) gross underpayment of its workers. The Gold Coast's 2nd largest employer VRTP made profits in excess of 88 million during the 2015/2016 FY whilst knowingly offering their employees a dreadful workplace agreement that the AWU told them would not get approved. Adult wages as low as $18.55 with NO weekend penalty rates, disgraceful ! We say ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! Will you join us and support underpaid, undervalued and disrespected theme park workers.
  6. Shade was always there if my memory serves me correctly.
  7. Solid 8 year bump... as for being useful in answering your question, I have nothing. Tbh I don't even recall a song playing. The front of the queue? Or the front of the entrance?
  8. It went backwards as far as I remember. The operators reasoning sounds ridiculous.
  9. good find! and we have ourselves a basic layout too!
  10. Seating in the Dora Amphitheatre is exactly as it used to be. Have they just replaced the seating? I didn't realise there was anything wrong it.. i do hope however they've taken the downtime opportunity to change up the show. whilst on that topic, a new Madagascar Show at DW would be nice too...
  11. Didn't post the links or details as there is no documents available. @AlexB pretty certain the checkpoint building will be the new gatehouse with the existing having to move due to Top Golf. and now I think about it, covered seating area (could also be the grandstand I guess) would be at PC. I was there on Monday and they have a new small stand in front of where they do the sheepdog show
  12. Not sure if it has been brought up by one of our resident DA/PDonline investigators, but MW has had a few building approvals come through early this year: - covered grandstand - covered seating area refurbishment - south carpark entry checkpoint building
  13. Feel that's a rubbish comment to post without any background or substance to it.
  14. So the ride attendant, nor any other passengers said "hey dude, you have oil/black liquid running down your face"?? Given you shared an elevator in close proximity to 10 other people surely someone would have noticed. You sure it wasn't there already hence why no one said anything?
  15. I always sit in the Billabong Restaurant imagining my party pies are Wagyu grain-fed morsels of deliciousness whilst staring out the window at the Jungle Cruise waiting to depart. Then the kid behind me hits me in the back of the head with a nugget and I realise I have the chewy remains of some minced unspecified farm animal stuck between my teeth and even the ducks don't want to cruise down the river. #pureimagination
  16. There no visible movement on either of those 2 yesterday whilst I was there.
  17. All cool @AlexB i largely agree with what you are saying, and was fairly strong on my approval of the use of the song with the opening line having no linkage. I guess my issue here (issue is probably a strong word, hesitation would be a better one if I was approving these images as a marketing manager) is that croc/boat imagine isn't one that is depicting something that occurs in park, so is if needed? Is there not another image we could create that could portray or represent the same message that would have any possible negative connotations or linkages? Maybe not. I'm probably being over-critical, but I'd just be erring on the side of safe if I was in DW's position
  18. Think they look great, love the overall style and message. Not sure on this one though. Have to say on first glance I thought I was looking at the log ride with a crocodile. Obviously it's not, but I probably wouldn't be projecting any message that invokes feelings or portrays danger in the water. The billboard/poster would have worked just as well had it been tiger related, maybe a picture from the tiger feeding or photos
  19. No movement on the carpark/containers today. Few guys working in the channel on the electricals
  20. Yep... family & I hit the states whilst the 2000 Olympic stadium were on. Flights were crazy cheap
  21. Licenses Are back at JDS, but are now $15. $40 if you want a 6x8 photo with it. Key rings etc also available. No one taking up the offer... Main st store facade getting a full update
  22. The theming was fairly encompassing around the ride track. I don't think a lot of it would be able to be installed after hours whilst the ride operated during the day. Apart from being a pain in the ass for the maintenance crew to have to remove all equipment etc every day to safely operate the ride, I also doubt many of them signed up to pull all nighters for weeks on end
