  1. Except the JLA are the good guys. why would you scan your JLA badge to enable you to assist in destroying the city? Seems counter productive to your job to protect it??
  2. Oh because a $15 one off payment for use of interactive elements is so cost prohibitive to all of us crazy poor people having 365 day a year access to 4 theme Parks for $10 a month... Oh the travesty. And you have to pay for food too!!!
  3. Negligence being the word that has to be proven... And is fairly ambiguous
  4. ?? The F13 maze this year is a condensed version of last years maze, just as the 2015 repeated mazes were condensed versions of the 2014 hero mazes.
  5. It's a good 10-15 minute drive, especially with traffic on hope island rd.
  6. Whilst it may appear 'nothing special' it caters and is targeted for a massive demographic DW caters for (Asian tourists). It will also be the first resort style accommodation up the far northern end of the GC
  7. Don't have a link as I read it on FB 486 Foxwell if you want to do a property search on GCPD
  8. Was in The Australian yesterday coupled with Scentre Groups FY results announcement. The master plan for the town centre & surrounds are easily accessible on GCPD or GCCC website (pain in ass to find it on a mobile device and post it myself). Also just Found out a hotel/resort was approved by council this week for Foxwell rd next to the town centre, also opening late 2018
  9. I think your logic is simple marketing. If you have something you want people to see, a drawcard, you put it where it will have the most exposure
  10. What do you want thoughts on? You really haven't put forward any questions in your statement.
  11. With the announcement yesterday (finally) that the Coomera Town Centre will begin construction in Jan/Feb 2017, with a late 2018 opening, the plans for the new gate may come to fruition and form part of a mini-relaunch of the park with some new attractions. A lot happening on the coast in 2018, they may be late to the party currently but they still have time to get things moving
  12. Super impressed with the area having just walked through it, the quality of theming is great, the interactive elements all add to the experience. DD looks great up close, couldn't ride as was riding solo with Mr 3 year old but will head back in before work next week for an early bird ride.
  13. Well there clearly is no land, they have admitted as much themselves. There were also rumbling a few months ago, albeit unconfirmed, that some of their major backers had cooled significantly on the project
  14. By the looks of things it will be a parents room for changing/feeding babies/toddlers. Given the current lack/limitations of such facilities it's a great addition
  15. Haha.. That post on TPSN was stupid. It is still there, land is not the issue at all
  16. China’s richest man Wang Jianlin talks up Gold Coast and meets with Mayor Kathleen Skene, Gold Coast Bulletin an hour ago PLANS by China’s richest man to build a multi billion-dollar Gold Coast theme park have advanced, with the Wanda Group talking up the city at a major investment forum. Wang Jianlin, 61, worth an estimated $39 billion, gave a glowing endorsement of the Coast, citing it as his only example of a city which had prospered from tourism outside of China. “Its value was discovered more than 50 years ago, and investment began,” he told the forum in Xiamen this month. “A city gradually took shape and a booming new city emerged purely as a result of investment in tourism ... it is ranked among the ‘top 10 tourism destinations in the world’ for almost a decade, and has prospered a state.” Chairman of China's Wanda Group Wang Jianlin. Mayor Tom Tate, with wife Ruth, met with the billionaire this week for the third time but would not comment on specific projects discussed, saying it was “commercial in confidence for now”. “My role is to ensure he knows our city is open-for-business so this group chooses to invest in the Gold Coast, before considering anywhere else in Australia,” he said. “Mr Wang Jianlin is incredibly impressed about our hospitality and open-for-business approach. “He loves the Gold Coast and I am confident our partnership with this company will be for the long-term.” Gold Coast Mayor Tom Tate meeting with China's richest man Wang Jianlin, chairman of Wanda Group The mayor is in China with his deputy Donna Gates and a host of business people, including high-end commercial property agent Roland Evans, who is negotiating the possible billion-dollar sale of a 6000ha property at Norwell where a masterplanned city and theme parks have been mooted. Mr Wang, whose Wanda Group is a partner of the billion-dollar Jewel project at Broadbeach, met with Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk last October to discuss plans for a major development on the Coast. Palaszczuk meeting with Wang Jianlin, Wanda Group Chairman, in Beijing Wanda Group general manager Xie Hong said at the time “it is Wanda’s intention to set a theme park up on the Gold Coast”. “This major project is still under negotiation with the State Government,” he said. A spokesman for Tourism Minister Kate Jones said the government was looking forward to working with Wanda towards new investments for the state. Wanda is the world’s largest owners of cinemas, sporting organisations, hotels, shopping centres and residential properties — but it has heavily invested in building theme parks in China in the past 12 months — including one in the country’s east worth $9.5 billion. http://www.goldcoastbulletin.com.au/news/gold-coast/chinas-richest-man-wang-jianlin-talks-up-gold-coast-and-meets-with-mayor/news-story/c5c8126b4281bc5d3d57290a8ddfa2bb
  17. I can't speak highly enough for MW guest service team, they have been proactive, helpful and a delight to deal with the few times I've had queries or issues in park.
  18. When you refer to someone as "a fellow (worker/student/theme park enthusiast)' you are stating that you belong to the same group of people. So when he said 'speaking to a fellow worker' that indicates (if correct English was being used) that he too was working there.
  19. Hold on, so you work at MW now? No, they mean exactly what they wrote. Negative g force is about downward acceleration, not airtime.
  20. The containers are the structure that the blue screen sits on for filming in the pool obviously a differently location, but shows how the containers are used when POTC was filming on the coast last year
  21. Why would you want to put on a headset on the three most highly themed rides in the park? Including one they've just finished updating/refreshing the theme on? I don't get that at all.
  22. Funny, I'd heard the ignition source was discarded cigarette from a maintenance tech..
