  1. What are those pieces under the white covers near the orange backhoe? (Best if you look at the above @themagician's pics fullsize/zoomed in.)
  2. I'd like to see a fantastic dark ride go in. Something akin to Remy's Ratatouille Adventure. Trackless, using physical sets, 3D glasses, screens, etc.
  3. I suspect that the new coaster side still needs a lot of groundwork prep. The last pics I've seen of the site show a hillside, and the coaster POV shows a fairly flat footprint. Will trees closer to Blue Lagoon/Train Line need removal?
  4. Urgh.. we only have enough time for 2 at DL/CA, 5 (maaaaybe 6) for DW.. Ah well, rope drop to fireworks it is. Fortunately we'll be there in October when statistically it's quieter than summer, Halloween notwithstanding. We're going mainly for Galaxy's Edge, so might focus on Avengers Campus at CA and do Galaxy's Edge at DW. Also, great advice in bold there, @ejpdtd. ✌️
  5. The 'boarding groups' way of launching Rise of the Resistance at DL (which I believe is how they did it at DW) sounds like a good way to do it. It sounds like the glitches have been mostly minor with this method, only affected by ride downtime. Basically, no matter what time you enter the Park (Magic Hour, or the management opening early to ease the crowds in the Esplanade), once the 'official' opening time rolls over, you can use the app to request to ride Rise of the Resistance. The group you have listed on the app are then assigned a boarding group, and are given notification on the app when you're allowed to ride. You get 2 hours to enter the queue at this point. No Fastpass until it dies down in a few weeks/months. By the time we go in October it will be on the Fastpass system by then, but Spider-Man Slingshot in Avengers Campus might be on boarding groups still.
  6. I suddenly have a very good reason to pour over this thread again! It appears that a few of my Christmases are coming at once - the Finance Department has approved her and I doing both Disneyland and Disney World at the back end of this year, a month or so after @Jessicajealousy and her other half do the best thing and honeymoon there. Mrs' plan is DL over 2 days, and WDW over 4-5 days, with hopefully one more at NASA (like we did in 2009 for a Shuttle Launch). We're about to get into the deep planning this coming week. We have only visited Disneyland Paris/Studios before. It was a Summer's Day in 2013, but fast passes were not mobile-based back then. We got 75% of what we wanted to do in the day. It looks like my post in the Galaxy's Edge thread is going to come true a year early. Now to save like mad. No toll roads, less take-away coffees, pay off the credit card, etc.. @Brad2912 - are you still going later this year? @ejpdtd - you too?
  7. August, 2007. Fog at all entrances to the sound stage. Sound Warning! Loud Video. Not for re-posting. 0827 Superman.mp4
  8. Found a few old mobile videos from a visit in 2006. Converting them from 3gp to MP4. My, ToT did get high up that Tower back in the earlier days. SOUND WARNING - it was a loud ride.. Not for reposting. 1119 DW ToT & Drop.mp4 1119 DE ToT.mp4 1119 DW ToT & Drop.mp4 1119 DW Reptar.mp4
  9. But how can the kids sit on the queue fences if there isn't one? /s
  10. The whole ride POV is already up on this forum... and Parkz's news section.
  11. Can quadcoptors be used on the eastern side of Sea World Drive? Probably not, being in a helicopter area...
  12. Fully 6 wasn't being built on sand, immediately surrounded by water lagoons, with a contractor pulling out early on. Was it?
  13. The Spider-Man animatronic looks unbelievable. In Imagineering Story, there's more recent testing than in the above video. Some of the acrobatics/poses are very Spider-Man like. How this will be used in the Avengers Campus/Stark Expo areas I don't know, but can't wait to find out.
  14. Anyone else watched/watching The Imagineering Story on Disney+ ? I'm 1/2 way through it. I admittedly had not known much about the creative and general history of the Disney Parks going in to this, and it's been an astounding show. So much Theme Park technology that we take for granted, even in the local parks, was created by the people at WED, MAPO and Walt Disney Imagineering.
  15. You'd think the Justice League would have a more reliable scanning device.
  16. (I was joking about the thunder from the storm.)
  17. Open the link in Incognito/Private mode.
  18. I hope you can ask the prison wardens to put you into Red & Blue lines. Sooo want to experience that face-to-face in the elevator.
  19. TBH I didn't even see the name tags. How about the TRON coaster, @joz?
  20. The walkway alongside GD looks good. Still has me wondering if they will relocate GD's queue, Arch and exit paths, so the whole elevated walkway complex can be removed. (And who as a kid doesn't like a boom gated train crossing?)
  21. They have an Opportunity to re-do the whole junction and queue for GD. There's no reason the queue couldn't be back around towards where ToT's track will be removed from (see pic below). Can then get rid of the arch area and the whole Junction, moving the Train Line crossing to a boom gated one. EDIT - WAIT, the path will go through alongside the GD building. See December Update Thread.
