  1. The story is just mainly about aliens attacking Sydney and the Space Probe Earth Station. An alien virus infects and destroys the Space Probe Earth Station data base, computers etc. Near the end, one news guy (Aaron, the one with the blonde hair) gets attacked by the Aliens. You can't really see his death, by you can see the approaching bright light and his eyes popping out - followed by a cut in transmission. The news reporter urges people to evacuate.. and that's about it. Mountain Cascades closure is due to lack of staff. If there is enough staff at Wonderland, the ride will be open. Today, the ride was open. The ride itself is fairly short, just a few dips, twists and turns followed by a painful landing in a pool. You sit in a round tube. I have taken a pic of the ride, which will be appearing soon on OzCoaster. ~Liam
  2. I just came back from a visit to Wonderland to see the deserted lion cub area. As expected, the lion cubs are gone - it doesn't look like they're coming back either. All signs have been removed inside the park. The area itself looks exactly the same, just cub-less. Going slightly off-topic now, but today Wonderland was jam packed. All rides had a fairly long line, Snowy being the busiest with a 90 minute queue. Thankfully the misters in the Snowy queue line are back up to cool the guests as they wait. Bush Beast was almost always a walk-on due to two train operation. Unfortunately the yellow train's buzz bars decided to crap out on car no 6, so that slowed the process down significantly until maintenance came along and fixed them. Mountain Cascades finally resumed operation today. It has already proven to be a crowd favourite, with a fairly long 20 minute wait. It's hilarious to watch people smash into the pool, the impact is very strong! Pictures soon on OzCoaster! ~Liam
  3. Thanks for the TR. It's a real shock to see that they weren't operating those rides (Mr. Freeze in particular.. what's up with that?!), but like you said, it's Six Flags. One thing I'd like to ask you though, when Americans say that certain coasters are rough, are they really rough or is it just because they are spoilt rotten with B&M's? I'd love to hear this from an Aussie. The pictures are great, particular Xcelerator. It's great to see that you went to a park you've never been to before and take the time to shoot a bunch of quality images - I'd be way too excited to even think of taking pictures. Thanks! Enjoy the rest of your trip and stay safe, ~Liam
  4. Holy hell! That's one huge blow for Wonderland. I hope this is just a temporary thing as Wonderland could get in a heap of trouble if the public is not notified of the disappearance. There were TV ads advertising the cubs.. I wonder if Wonderland has pulled the plug on these advertisements? WTF, ~Liam
  5. Actually since the modifications have been made to the ride, it is actually quite smooth in all areas of the train. I believe this only goes for the yellow train though, as I rode the red train a few weeks ago which nearly broke my back! ~Liam
  6. All my inventory consists of is my digital camera and my wallet, so there is no real need to take a bag. On rides like Probe and Bush Beast, I do put my camera up against the wall (or in Bush Beast's case, tucked away behind the bin!). But for a small station like Demon's, I put my camera in my pocket. I don't wear those lame baggy pants with oversized pockets that every wannabe rapper seems to wear, so there's no chance of my belongings falling out. Wonderland does have lockers, located in Transylvania and The Beach. But to pay fifty billion million dollars just to store a camera is not worth it. ~Liam
  7. Very nice. Does the ride come with a motor? I'd love to see a model wave singer that is fully operational (lifting/spinning). That must've been a real pain to put together, much harder than my snap-together k'nex coaster models! Well done, ~Liam
  8. It was placed over the yellow line, where items should go. Following these rules I placed the camera where it should go, then got stepped on. I've seen dozens of glasses, cameras etc be stepped on. The raised step in Demon's station has got to be no more than 30cm wide, which is way to small IMO. It'd be way to easy to slip off the raised platform if the operator wasn't paying close attention to where he/she were walking (I've seen many ops slip) There's no specific area to place items in at Demon. The station's floor is not a safe place to put valuable items on, which is why all of my belongings are placed in my pockets. It'd be a totally different story if there were trays (as seen in Corkscrew's station). ~Liam
  9. Fantastic video! Thanks mate. What confuses me though is that there doesn't seem to be any decent on the turn around. Does the train depend on the speed once it de-attaches from the cable to make it's way around the turnaround? Apparently such incidents have occured on Bush Beast's turnaround during high winds. ~Liam
  10. Welcome! It's common courtesy to spell correctly so we can actually read what you are saying with ease. I'm most probally your age (13, 14?) and I spell correctly for the sake of other people. Don't go flaming Daniel just because he corrected you on a few mis-spelt words. Daniel was in no way treating you like an idiot, he gave you a nice warm welcome. They're are removing old rides and not adding new rides because they don't want to spend money. All they care about is profit they are currently getting, and not thinking about what profit they can make with a few new rides. Why did they sell the land off? Because they wanted more money. Simple as that. ~Liam
  11. I don't see a way how an operator/unloader can be in the station while the train is in motion on Demon. If I understand correctly, both gates (operator gates and exit gate where the unloader stands) won't be unlocked until the operator presses a button on the control panel. However, it is very possible to twist the law a bit on all rides (Space Probe, Bush Beast etc). At first, I too had a problem with Daniel operating Bush Beast with his foot - until I saw the control panel. Although it is an odd way to operate the ride, it is 100% safe. It is possible to hit another button, but I know for a fact that Daniel took extreme care to make sure that he pressed the right button, not that it was a huge challenge anyway (press the big green button, not the yellow ones). All of the buttons around the dispatch button are only enabled during in manual operation mode (with the e-stop on the other side of the control panel), so the idea of Daniel mis-hitting another button instead of dispatch is totally out of the question. It was a cool way to operate the ride to say the least (Daniel actually made the ride interesting! The antics he used to pull off while operating the ride were hilarious). I totally agree. After having my camera stepped on, the main thing I want Wonderland to add is little storage boxes to place your belongings into. To say that "theres only one train so there is no use in adding them" is not acceptable, since Corkscrew does have little trays on the side of the station. "Wonderland Sydney does not take any responsibility for items lost, stolen or damaged *cough* by an operator *cough*" ~Liam
  12. h3y man i l0v3 t3h scanic railwey it is su fon meybeh u shuld go ride it plz!!! Have fun Dan ~L30hm
  13. Regarding the Hulk appearance - yes, there is a soundtrack when he comes out. However I'm not sure if there was smoke etc as I didn't see him when he came out. Unfortunately I didn't get any pictures, as I was shooed away due to the licensing agreement (what's the point of having an attraction and not allowing your guests to take pictures of their sons/friends etc. with the marvel characters?). The mini show was far from spectacular. It is located on the outside of the former Action Arena. A big picture of a city street is painted on the outside wall, along with a real bench and fire hydrant. At the beginning of the show, the Green Goblin is sitting on the bench reading some news paper, when he sees Spiderman and calls him a wuss (or something like that..). They then fight with the assistance of some other marvel characters helping Spiderman. After about 3 minutes, the show ends with the Green Goblin kocked out. The show is accompanied with a Marvel like sound track (that urbany-spidermany-fighty music), along with pre recorded voices for the characters to mime along to. The mini show is like Action Man revisited, just a little bit better. ~Liam
  14. Boxing Day's crowd at Wonderland was very moderate. Lines were no more than 10 minutes. Anyway, the marvel parade was a big let down. All Marvel characters were on quad bikes, finishing up the "parade" at the Action Arena for a mini show. The show just consisted of all Marvel characters fighting the Green Goblin. I took heaps of photos, they will be up on OzCoaster on Sunday night. Also, I was informed by a guy at the turnstiles that apparently there may be some kind of Shrek 3D show at the Galaxy theatre after Spellbinding Sorcery leaves. Just a rumour though! ~Liam
  15. Huss, you seem to be a good guy. But however, it is quite clear that Daniel is just joking around. I know that at first you get a shock at what Daniel is saying, but all he is trying to do is lighten up this place a bit. I cop it all the time on MSN, but I take it, and give him a serve too. I don't take what he says seriously, instead laugh to my ass falls off! He's a funny guy, tough at times, but naturally funny. I can completely understand that you are getting angry at this, but soon enough you'll both be best of buds. Merry Christmas to all! ~Liam
  16. What's the go with Shark Bay? I heard on Ten News that sharks were finally let into the Shark Bay tanks after being held in one of the water park pools. However, it was said that the area's opening would be delayed until April, is this true? Great to hear that Movie World met their predicted date for WWF's re-opening, good on them. Does anyone (Ian, Joz) know what parts of the ride had to be fixed up, and if there were any improvements to that section while they were at it? ~Liam
  17. I think Wonderland thinks that we will go bananas over a new show (Spiderman). Who did you ring up regarding this Wayne? Good to know that the new road entrance is open, that temporary road was just awful! ~Liam
  18. Sea World sucks?! It has to be the best park in Australia. You're only looking at what rides Sea World has to offer (IMO Australia's best rides). Wet 'n' Wild definately is not a world class water park, just take a look at Holiday World's waterpark or Soak City at Cedar Point. ~Liam
  19. They might have been maintenance. Did you notice if the ride had been down previously? Sorry to hear your day sucked.. did you end up going on Bush Beast? It gets boring if you stay there all day. On my weekly visits, I stay for no more than 2 hours, just to get some pictures and grab a few rides on Probe/Demon. I'll only stay for more than 2 hours if something new has been added. (such as the lion cub exhibit, marvel parade etc.) ~Liam
  20. I was behind the camera in most of the shots when filming the ad (and tried to be in some shots too!), it really is amazing how repetitive filming is, those little Wonderland kids must've been extremely tired. I think when I go on Boxing Day will be the busiest day of the year, as you have stated (not including Union Day). ~Liam
  21. That's a lot of pieces there, thanks for that Rainbow. Do you have any more pictures of the freefall? Also, what model would you recommend for a beginner? Thanks, ~Liam
  22. ^ Thanks for the link dude! I'm thinking of getting the freefall model, but I've heard it's an absolute pain in the butt to put together, harder than any other model. Any word on the freefall Rainbow? Thanks. ~Liam
  23. It seems that Demon is getting stuck on lift 2 most of the time on Saturday nights. I've only been to Saturday Session twice, but on both visits the ride broke down. I wasn't at the park on Sunday (was having more fun water-skiing instead), but I think the new interactive photo sopts haven't appeared as yet, but will on Boxing Day (as with the face painting, marvel parade etc.. I can't wait!). ~Liam
  24. Well I just got my calendar, and I'm very impressed! Well worth the $25, thankyou Rich! My mum's in love with the polar bear picture, ~Liam
