  1. After Wizard of Oz/Flash/Scooby I can't see the next expansion at MW. It has been the main focus from 2023-2025, so my guess is the next expansion will be either at SW or WnW. Highly doubt it, as Gazza said the boats just got replaced, so it is most likely here to stay. It is still one of the most popular rides even after 25 years, no point in replacing it. I know something in the area between that and Scooby that could get replaced though.
  2. Based on the video it seems the entire WOO land will be concreted, instead of real grass. My guess is they are using fake grass as real grass can become green, which would ruin the whole area.
  3. Yes they have, although most are from Lionsgate, Sony or Miramax, not Universal or Paramount. Saw Maze (Lionsgate) Walking Dead (AMC) Evil Dead (Sony) Evil Within (Bethesda Softworks) Wolf Creek 2 (Roadshow) Friday the 13th (Paramount*) From Dusk till Dawn (Miramax) Wyrmwood (Guerilla Films) Jigsaw Maze (Lionsgate) Halloween (Miramax) Leatherface (Lionsgate) Zombieland Double Tap (Sony) *Paramount owns half the franchise, but most likely gotten from WB (WB + Paramount co-own F13)
  4. Considering it is two weeks until the maze announcements for Fright Nights (going by previous years) I thought it would be good to start up a thread. On the Mazes tab on the Fright Nights website most mazes have been removed except Death Row and Conjuring maze, which i’m guessing that they will be back for 2023 (considering they were new for last year, and mazes tend to be reused across 2 or so years) So I wonder what other mazes will come this year? I am kinda hoping for a Saw X maze to tie in with the movie (coming out Sep 21 2023) Maybe a Nun maze would be good but I’m not sure about the other one.
  5. Unfortunately it would be unlikely as the ride is 60+ years old IIRC (Dreamworld got it second hand), and most parks have a ride like that.
  6. A more closer example would be Raging Waters Sydney as well. Since opening, they have only opened one new slide. That’s it. Meanwhile Jamberoo has opened Velocity Falls as well as Perfect Storm and now this. No wonder why more people are going there instead of RWS. @Ranger could you copy the article onto here if you can? It would be greatly appreciated, I don’t have a subscription so it would be awesome if so.
  7. More work has been done (thanks to @Ogre)
  8. Concrete has been placed in the Gamesite area. Disappointing that it won’t match the rest of Ocean Parade. (thanks to @Ogre)
  9. Groundwork has started on the new kiddy coaster (thanks to @Ogre) Dreamworld, please tell me you will replace the pathway in this area. It looks disgusting and lazy reusing the same ones from Dreamworks.
  10. According to the maintenance site and Queuepark, it is open. But to have 4/5 coasters closed at one point is embarrassing. I feel for the families coming, they might say something like this: "I can't wait to go on DC Rivals!" "Nah, Superman's better." "Green Lantern seems like a good ride." "Really? I think Scooby is the best." Then when they get to the park, closed, closed, closed, closed.
  11. The section going through Storm is also apparently gone (leaving just the castle section) and demolition walls have been put outside of the castle (thanks to Gold Coast Theme Parks) If this means the Castle is also going, I wonder what will eventually replace it? My guess is we will see something in the area in 2025/2026 after Flash/WoO opens.
  12. I don’t think it affected it either, but what I think @franky might be saying is Universal wants Dreamworks exclusively at their parks, which means they want all the non-Universal parks to remove Dreamworks, including Dreamworld. Remember the deal was made before Dreamworks was bought by NBCUniversal (land opened in 2012, Dreamworks acquired in 2016). A similar thing happened with Marvel, and all parks (excl. IOA) have removed or are removing the Marvel properties because Disney wants them exclusively at their parks, as well as Simpsons rumoured to being removed in 2028 at USH/USF at the end of the 20 year deal between Universal and Fox (similar scenario here) And that is why I think Dreamworld were forced to go to non-IP/ABC Kids rides, because: Disney/Pixar/Fox rides are mostly at Disney, and will most likely not be going to third-party companies Universal/Illumination/Dreamworks rides are mostly at Universal, and are being removed from third-parties (like with DW) WB/Hanna-Barbera/Looney Tunes as well as Nickelodeon rides are at Village So if you remove them, you basically have only Sony Animation. And even then, 2/3 highest of the grossing franchises (Spider-Verse, Smurfs, Hotel Transylvania) have seperate theme park rights. Add to that Peter Rabbit, Goosebumps, Angry Birds, Emoji Movie and Aardman theme park rights most likely owned by seperate companies, you basically only have Hotel Transylvania, Open Season, Surfs Up and the Netflix films.
  13. Overall, I doubt Movie World will move storage around and replace it with attractions unfortunately, which means there is not much room to expand after the new coasters open up. There is only two areas I can see being used: 1. Former Marvin Rocket area 2. Seating area next to Road Runner Other than them I can't see another area that can be used, which means if something needed to be added outside Kids WB, something would need to go. IMO it seems that if it was to happen, Doomsday would most likely be the one to go due to its shit reliability. Most of the others wouldn't because: WWF got a refurb, so likely to stay, also a popular ride Scooby getting a 2+ year refurb, so not going Flash and WOO not going for obvious reasons Superman not likely to go due to it being popular, a full retrack or replacement of the launch would be more likely DCR most likely not going due to it being a popular ride, also one of the newest rides JL most likely not going GL most likely not going due to it being a popular ride Batwing most likely not going
  14. Yes, that's one of the negatives that every park is 10-11 hours away. I am thinking of suggesting maybe Singapore for our next trip so I can go to Universal Singapore and Legoland Malaysia, but a problem is the rest of the family is GP and may not want to go. I couldn't drive to the place with the kiddy credit either because as said before, the rest of the family is GP and wouldn't drive 6 hours total (3 hours a drive) to ride a kiddy coaster, and the other thing is we wont be using a rented car (using Tuk Tuks).
  15. Oh I thought you meant the Scooby alley was highly unlikely, not the Chinatown one. My guess is both entries will be open majority of the time, with people forced to go through Scooby when Superman is down (assuming Flash will go down at the same time and the plaza closed off entirely)
  16. If it doesn’t then I guess it means the Superman plaza will become very busy, with it becoming mandatory to pass through to ride Superman, WoO and Flash (presumably the exit will go to Superman plaza)
  17. Didn’t it get removed for the Ice Skating for White Christmas?
  18. Hello everyone, In September I am going on a international trip to Thailand with my family (9 others coming, was supposed to be 12 total but 2 couldn't make it due to having a baby). We will be staying in the south-west of Thailand in a village called Khao Lak and we will be there between the 5th of September and the 13th. I sadly didn't get control of the location we were going to, which unfortunately means no credits for me as the closest coaster is 3 hours away (and a kiddy credit) and the closest one after that is 10 hours away. However, there is a good number of waterparks in Phuket from what I have heard. Does anyone know of any good waterparks there? Thanks. We would need to go on the 6-12th as we will be flying on the 5th and 13th.
  19. And it seems Doomsday and Scooby have been removed, reducing the rides counted to 5.
  20. I think it is actually @Ogre on here who is the one doing the updates. And yes, he should be congratulated on his work.
  21. I am guessing thats where the old Arkham area entrance was (next to the ride entrance) seemingly confirming that the area will not be blocked off. Hopefully there will be an entrance from both Superman and Scooby without having to go through the Superman plaza.
  22. That makes me wonder... What will happen to Superman once it is time to replace the launch? I have 2 ideas on what could possibly happen: 1. LSM Launch by Intamin or Zamperla without layout changes 2. Ride removed, but replaced by a similar launch coaster still themed to Superman (Intamin next-gen multi-launch etc.)
  23. I personally think something like the Sesame Street dark ride at USS would work well at Movie World. The ride would be able to fit inside the current showbuilding based on my measurements, and would have even more room if you reuse the LTRR queue as the queue. But yes, still unfortunately unlikely to happen. But at least it is more realistic than the Intamin Hypercoaster suggested next to the kids area a few days ago.
  24. What about a western style show? Movie World is lacking in shows right now and it would be good for another one. A more unrealistic idea is to move the current storage from the right half of the LTRR/JDS building in there, and then use the whole LTRR showstage for a new dark ride replacing JDS.
