  1. Looks like a big ass snowman to me!
  2. Disney would never build a watered down park to fit our budget. DCA was bad enough and even that was far beyond a budget an Aussie park could build. They just can't afford to tarnish their brand with a half assed effort.
  3. Disney will never build a park here no chance. I even heard these words come out of a couple imagineers mouths last month when in the US.
  4. It's not hard to make it fool proof. Put an electronic latch on the gates that are tied to the ride system so the appropriate gate for the que only opens with the appropriate cycle selected.
  5. I dunno, the Volcanos have been there a long time but the park much longer. Whilst they may be Iconic, think about it, what place in the park did they really have? They made no sense at all, it's just we were all used to them. I think the loading area was really nicely presented and that made more sense in the park than the 2 Brown Plastic Volcanos. or the big exhaust pipe behind them. Let's wait and see what comes next, it may just be even more 'iconic'
  6. I definately agree it's a great addition for sure. I just think its crazy to go BIG 8 on it. IMO opinion there has been some strange market pitching from both parks of late which actually Di harm to the attraction's appeal rather than good.
  7. Yeah it looks exciting enough and not really a family ride but yes BIG 8 thrill ride? That's just hilarious, what the hell is that with BIG 8 anyway. Do we not think the 8 number is getting a bit ridiculous as it is?
  8. Movie World does not need Flats. It's meant to be a movie themed park with truly immersive attractions. The closest thing it has to a flat is Batwing and that's enough IMO
  9. It's funny that such a fanfare is made about what would be a filler attraction at any other park.
  10. Oh AlexB couldn't agree more, the first time I heard the little Billy Ray part of the soundtrack I lost it and I've pretty much laughed my ass off every time since. I can't say enough for the park atmospheric music this year, it's what really 'sold' the quality of the event for me.
  11. Just curious, why fly Brisbane and not gold coast?
  12. I really think one of these should be brought back to one of our parks here. A quality highly themed version could be great. IMO Hex is a brilliant ride.
  13. Agreed its a moderate family ride which is exactly what the park needed.
  14. Plus you wouldn't get anything else into that space so without it we'd likely only have 3. Given we have for and universal only 6 I think we're pretty well off given the difference in population.
  15. Yes but sometimes they read as "in my opinion" and sometimes more like "this is fact." That review pretty much read to me like it was stating fact so I was stating that of course the review is just a personal opinion.
  16. Great thorough review but highly subjective. I've had people say the thought Psyco was the scariest maze a d Death Derby was much. Attar than Circus for example.
  17. To be honest the lines were long but the wait times were mostly between 15-30mins all night. There were no capacity problems with the mazes at all. I understand perception is that long line = long wait but this was not the case at all. The park was simply amazing tonight, a HUGE step up from even last week let alone previous years, easily as good as the american events I've been to. As stated above atmosphere was amazing.
  18. Yep this is the most rediculous argument every. Saying all slides are the same but all coasters is different is a rediculous comment. You don't have to like slides at all but to basically discount everyone's opinion that do like them just because you don't is indeed ignorant.
  19. The thing is even at universal not all the houses (as they call them) are 'RAR' type scare attractions. Some of them are just weird and creepy and I think that's what the hillbilly maze is about and I personally think its the best one. The thing I like this year is the four mazes all have a distinct feel and experience rather than the same thing with different theming.
  20. Yeah they are a great ride. Lots of Vekoma Mad Houses around, probably the most epic being Hex at Alton Towers
  21. Not quite, they were from America Sings I believe, as were many of the characters that are in splash mountain...
  22. Well it's about 14 hours to go until the event kicks off. I'll be there to see it, who's going? In terms of atmosphere and attractions looks like this year will be another notch up the scale. Let's hope it's a big success.
  23. Hmmm misplaced comma and extra 4 me thinks
