No way that support on the counterweight is a lifting point. Def designed to attach something. Probably also the weight was written there (weight would be for the crane driver) because they know it will be covered when whatever it is gets bolted on.

He wasn't disabled, he was just a dickhead. The incident didn't happen in the flume, it was on the lift.

This is not about MW but the whole EFTPOS system nationally. It really pisses me off that you are now getting charged a CC surcharge to use pay pass on a debit card as its processed as a credit transaction. The whole purpose of PP is to speed up the transaction which saves the merchant money(time). So now I'm expected to pay them a few to save them money. The whole logic/system is flawed. The government needs to outlaw CC transaction fees if the push is for society to go cashless IMO.

AFAIK GL carts don't charge overnight. They use super capacities to charge on each cycle and last one cycle. Also pretty sure that switch does control the audio.

Yes very hard to tell with the low quality video. I did think it looked like the disc sheared from the trolley. Most likely under specced or under torqued bolts

I'd be interested to know if the 'disc' separated from the trolley or if the trolley came off the track. Is also like to know what the 'flood damage' was. Thats easily the most horrific accident video I've ever seen. You'd certainly be looking at manslaughter charges in this country (not murder as they didn't intend to kill anyone).

Yeah they can implement features which don't affect the ride experience but reduce downtime and improve safety. Why would anyone even question such things.

Looks to me like it's a safety feature that wouldn't impact normal operation but if rafts backed up it would stop one being able to go under water and flip.

Yeah go to their website and have a look. You will see its one tower section, then a whole piece supporting motors, brakes, gearboxes and the arms. Realise the heigh the gondolas reach is 21m not the height of the tower.

I think the paint job looks awesome. And that tower certainly looks to be 10m tall so when you double that with the arms there's your 20m... As for superman, it's been said 1000 times. Down time is for re paint.

Those sort of VIP prices are not a stretch at all for A LOT of people out there. There is a great number of wealthy people in Australia and visiting the Gold Coast.

That cityscape with the white roof/wall and the show stage sign is one of the strangest pieces of theming I've ever seen at the moment. Obviously much to do, so I'm not judging yet, but that does look really odd.

I don't think it's just the weather. The whole atmosphere is meant to be crowded. People everywhere, sights, smells and sounds. The bustling plaza with all its food offering and hoards of people is all part of the vibe in my opinion. If it was quiet and empty wouldn't feel the same. This is one event where I feel busy is better.

Basically that's how it goes. Family/regulatory body go after Merlin (parent company). They can then go after the employee that acted negligently.
