  1. You said "buy" the media. Nobody attacked you, we simply states our opinion. Why does everyone get their back up when their OPINION is challenged?
  2. It was a HUGE deal in the media at the time. A high profile company killing people is going to get coverage, even when they own media. It was especially a big deal when it came out that accident was caused by shoddy maintenance.
  3. YES it does make a massive difference. Disney puts a lot of work into studying the science of people movement and ride queuing. I've seen single rider lines on 2 abreast coasters that just don't work. And also rides like Tower of Terror (Disney) where because everyone sits so close in a big group single rider doesn't really work/matter. The ride vehicle plays a big part in whether it's effective to have single rider or not. You also need a park that is good and efficient at pre-grouping riders. No Australian parks are.
  4. Yes it would be good if some details would come out on how exactly.
  5. Simple math. Quite often people travel in even numbers to theme parks, largely due to wanting someone to ride with. When you have a ride with say 3 across seating (like radiator springs racers) groups of 2 and 4 result in an empty single seat. On a ride like California Screaming the pairs fill up most rows. And yes people always complain. At RSR a couple weeks ago a woman was throwing a fit because her group was being split up after waiting in the single rider line **slaps forehead
  6. Disagree to no down side. I've found in personal experience people get it in their head that single rider means no wait (same with fast pass too) and then get pissed when they might be waiting 20mins to get on a ride, even though the normal que may be an hour.
  7. I think a "Stupid things posted on Parkz" would be quite valid this week.
  8. They won't build a dark ride now. 1) storm was the replacement dark ride like it or not. 2) a show building would look horrible built in that space.
  9. You won't get any more accurate than that plan as that is definitely the cad plan of the ride. You won't get any more accurate than that plan as that is definitely the cad plan of the ride.
  10. Would they be happy with Scooby level rides or you looking for something a bit more mild? Your biggest enemy at Disney will just be getting them on a ride they might perceive too high on thrill factor when in fact one on the tried they'd probably enjoy it. Having said that there is HEAPS to do. Here's a rough list erring on the side of caution but plenty more if you can step it up a bit. Moments with mr Lincoln Train Main Street vehicles Tiki room Jungle cruise Haunted mansion Pirates if Caribbean Mark twain Sailing ship Columbia Monorail Fantasy land dark rides Red car trolley (DCA) Soarin over California Little mermaid Muppets Monsters inc Bugs life On top or that you have ALL the shows, heaps if street atmosphere, restaurants. There is certainly heaps of great things to spend their time at the parks on.
  11. Well Scooby has 2, one switch for gates, one button to dispatch. The unload advance is a other person so that's still one button isn't it.
  12. I've checked and Firechaser easily fits into that land footprint.
  13. Not really. They operate one park which has licensing with Warner Bros so this would make it even with Fox.
  14. Whilst the sims really entertain me, I find the coaster ones amusing because of how many controls they have when in real life there is literally 2 buttons in many cases to run these rides
  15. Can't use lake for ride water as it's salt water connected to the ocean.
  16. Hehe Most of the time a Fault will stop a ride but won't shut down a ride so the first thing the operator will be asked to do is try reset the fault to see if it will just 'go away'.
  17. I don't really feel they should get a Thrill Ride. A nice balance of thrill/family is perfect for Sea World's audience and Jet Rescue is really pushing the boundaries of that. Id be happy to see something that doesn't invert and caters nicely to everyone from 6 years old to 56 years old. The only thing I will say is the park just got a Mack ride, and Scooby is an extremely reliable Mack ride. Mack could definitely build a Firechaser type ride, and people have spoken about a Mack Spinner for Movie World. Buying 3 rides from Mack in a fairly small amount of time would likely put the company in a good bargaining position.
  18. Hmm arguable that there is only 1 water ride. Storm is a water ride in the fact that you get wet which is kind of what I base it on. Given the fact that 2 rides get you wet, do punters want a third ride that gets you wet or not? I'm all for non coaster rides, but if we go with a water ride then what? They already have a Mack water coaster so that's out, they have a flume so that's out. So do we look at a rapids? I feel a family coaster may be the better choice as I'm not certain that a rapids can be built (where does the storage lagoon go?). A ride with a low height requirement is key. I'm going to stick with a Firechaser type ride or a good spinning coaster... But not a stock carnival model.
  19. Ha many times you do push the reset button and/or turn it off and on again to fix a ride.
  20. ^^ I actually say piss off and find something else to do with your time rather than visit this site. We have no desire for members on here that wish ANY parks to "Die a Horrible Death". What a friken stupid thing to say.
  21. Disagree, steel track and poly running wheels would be more attractive from a maintenance cost perspective.
