  1. Yeah not much you can do if a pump blows up etc. Just have to work to get it fixed. This is the worst time of year to have breakdowns as most suppliers for parts are closed.
  2. I'd take figures like pay rates posted here with a grain of salt
  3. I'm not so sure just because they didn't run out and remove the gate it means they're not listening to you. One it the strong points in this thread was that they should remove the gate because people climb over it. So they've solved that problem. Just because you may not be happy with how they acted on your feedback doesn't mean they didn't listen to it. I say well player sea world
  4. It would make sense, stopping the boats for the dump may well indeed reduce capacity so with all boats on it may not happen in that mode. No different to dreamworld having different cycles for buzzsaw.
  5. Yeah I agree with AlexB, the games at Wonderland were well done. I actually used to play the coin toss and the bowling ball game regularly. Never could get the coin toss but won many many prizes on the bowling ball game. I've never played a game in any other park. I do think wonderland were onto something with how they executed them. They also spread them all through the park and not in one location which I think worked also.
  6. The parade was actually the same length last year with the same number of floats... there is a new float this year but it replaced another.
  7. This is a good point. Weight restrictions like height are there for safety. It's stupid to try and lie and 'get away' with riding when you shouldn't.
  8. I actually didn't realise there are only 6 in the world... there you go.
  9. Well CAPEX, is any expenditiure that adds value to the business, as compared to Expenses which are costs in curred in running the business, and Stock which are items that you sell. So a Maze is still CAPEX, as is a Parade Float or a new Costume... I think it actually works the opposite way to what people think. If something has to last a long time (ie DW maze) then it HAS to lack the finer details because it needs to be durable, the fiddly bits just won't last the distance. Maybe peoplr underestimate how much damage a MW maze suffers in a night of Fright Nights.
  10. Shit, didn't realise it was such a crime to ask about a train station... In all reality I'd imagine there will be public or private bus connections from at least one local train station to the park. After all, those Wonder Busses have to get a rebirth eventually
  11. You can't just "somehow get around that" being noise curfews from residents. The rides have to shut at 9 and there is a noise curfew from 10pm in the area. There is just no getting around that. I would agree with the above points though mentioning crowd soakers being shows and the theatre. What about some sort of half hour abridged version of Rocky Horror (call it Roxy Horror) in the theatre with maybe some interactive actors? I'd also love to see at least 3 performances in HSD and some kind of Bill and Tedds type show eleswhere. Show stage is obvious choice, but you then need another location for a big maze... so you have to be realistic about finding that... if it was me I'd be building a big tent structure to use the old china alley and arkham courtyard area, would require some kind of diversion for the ride exit though, and take into acount the need for wheelchair access. You could use the old theatre space but you'd have to build the floor up level with scaff. Then on top of all those factors you have to pay for this somehow, which in reality would mean forcing a greater percentage of people to buy the $40 tickets rather than VIP redemptions, whilst still keeping the same attendance. When you look at all of that it's quick to see increasing or changing anything about the event is a big challenge.
  12. Well something would have to give. Less people means less money so you'd either have to have A) a lesser experience, theming, actors, etc higher entry price to compensate What are people's thoughts on which way to go? Or is it fine the way it is now??
  13. I think last night is the best one I've seen yet, not that the others were bad, but I think it keeps improving every night. As for hands on shoulders, sadly there are a lot of morons out there that feel the need to try and break everything they can in a maze as they go through, attack the actors etc. Whilst I've seen hands on shoulders in overseas mazes, it really is Australians who have the worst culture for trying to destroy things. Sad but true
  14. Hate to say it, but if people followed the rules they wouldn't have to stop and say that would they...
  15. Opening moment 2 Space Cowboy shows (they are different) 2 performances of Carnevil in HSD arena And the Demon dance
  16. Wow Pretty sure if you don't attend the collective IQ of the park should jump about 20 points!
  17. Yeah crazy different liquor licensing laws in Orlando compared to elsewhere
  18. It's funny because overseas people get very excited to see the return of mazes from previous years, some at Knotts run for several years. Hillbilly was such a surprise sucess last year I'm glad it's back and I think the couple tweaks make it fresh without losing too much.
  19. The hotel is this http://www.aturablacktown.com.au The latest brand offering by AHL, parent company of Rydges and the new QT brand. Looks like it will compliment the park nicely.
  20. And what exactly would a mob ride be? Not being nasty, I'm curious...
  21. Why does it need to be a franchise? We all know that the western area is desperate for a new attraction. Id be going with a generic western theme attraction for that area. Whether its a wooden coaster (my least preferred option), a mine train, Vekoma mad house or anything, just give it a western theme. Hell why not use the show stage building with some excavation and get Sally to do another dark ride.
  22. Has anyone seen any external advertising? TV ads, etc?
  23. What cinemas is it going to be shown at? My guess is wont be shown in Qld. Whilst I don't condone torrents Alex, in fact in very against them, the choice of the filmakers not to have it available in Australia makes it hard. I would love to see the film but at this stage there is no way to legally do so
