  1. Great news. I'm personally quite excited about this attraction. I'm a big fan of any boat/raft slides. I'm a total wimp so slides like Aqua Loop don't interest me in the slightest. I'm not interested in pain or to feel like I'm drowning from all the water rushing up my nose
  2. Wow, never been to Movie World? I would be SO excited if I was you. Discovering all of those incredible attractions for the first time. It really is a great park
  3. Village Roadshow released their results today and the Chief Executive, Graham Burke, had this to say about Wet 'n' Wild Sydney: "[it will be] the best water park in the world - and that's not just rhetoric. In that market, a city of that size without a theme park -- I think it’s going to explode". I totally agree with him. He also confirmed it would open in December 2013. Here is the article for anyone interested - http://www.theaustra...x-1226456578147
  4. Plus there seems to be a quote from Tim Fisher - CEO of Warner Village on that Family Constrictor page
  5. And it looks like they are now calling it Justice League (Alien Invasion 3D) THE RIDE. Or maybe the marketing department is just confused. Again
  6. That version of Atlantis at Sea World San Antonio is hideous!! I'd never seen it before now. The ride just doesn't work. There is no rhythm or pacing. Just these long awkward moments where the turntable is turning and you are forced to watch the ride attendants who are stationed up there (one attendant per turntable - not a very economical ride!). And don't get me started on that ANNOYING recording that keeps repeating over the loudspeakers "LET ME HEAR YOU SCREAAAAM!". Let's hope Sea World Gold Coast gets the decent version of this ride... as I'm sure they will
  7. Thanks for that link Gazza. Going off Sea World's schematic of the planned 'car park' water coaster, I was thinking it didn't look too exciting or long for that matter. Good to see an actual POV of the same layout - it's actually a lot better than I was expecting. The final drop is neat with the little camel hump just before splashdown. Just seems to add that bit extra. I agree that the ride could work as open-air only so long as there is decent theming. Some audio and animatronics, as seen in Gazza's video, would be nice. I'd still prefer it if there were proper dark ride sections to this ride but if they do a good job of the open-air themed sections then I could live with that
  8. The only trouble with that abbreviated version of Journey to Atlantis (as opposed to the original dark ride version at Orlando) is that parts of the ride look so dodgy. Not sure if that is just because it is in need of maintenance and a paint job. Also, the lift portion is really strange and not effective from my point of view. It looks like something from a temporary carnival ride with all the black metal showing and that tarpaulin material
  9. You not only included Jet Rescue but also the station for the flume ride. Regardless, I think there will be plenty of space for something decent
  10. Wow. Village are just going for it aren't they! Good on them. I didn't even think a new attraction for WnW was necessary right now, especially considering all the stuff going in at the other parks. But happy to see it anyway! I just can't get over how much capex they must be going through right now. Great stuff. It will be well and truly worth a trip to the Gold Coast next year thanks to Village and that's an understatement
  11. FANTASTIC!! I'm impressed by this on so many levels: 1. The fact that Village have been amping up the capex and adding so many great new rides, without the usual multi-year gaps between attractions 2. The 'storm' theme is a good one and I'm looking forward to seeing what they do with it (plus very excited about possible watercoaster) 3. The fact that they are already starting to promote the attraction so far in advance and not waiting till the last second
  12. Oh okay I thought they meant there were speakers placed along the lift hill... didn't realise it was the on-board system. Well it has certainly taken them a significantly long time to get it organised AND I'm pretty sure the audio would have been originally planned to play for the duration of the ride, not just the start. Also, we all know how very hit & miss (mostly miss) Green Lantern's on-board audio system is
  13. That's good to hear they've at least made some attempt with audio, even if it's not on-board. Might have been nice if they'd also had some speakers along the brake run at the end of the ride. It's interesting that the on-board audio seems to have basically been a failure for both Green Lantern and in particular Arkham. Guessing they won't try it again in future
  14. Are you talking about pieces of the Wayne manor facade being removed or the actual simulator building? I'm hoping they will change the existing facade and not just leave it as is
  15. I think it's awesome that the lead designer of this attraction has jumped on here to say hi to us. A big hi back to you Rich! And THANK YOU for bringing us what it sounds like is going to be an incredible ride. Many of us were disappointed with the closures of the Looney Tunes & Bermuda Triangle dark rides. It didn't leave us with much left in terms of that style of attraction. That's why it was so great to hear the news about Justice League: Alien Invasion! I personally would love to see ongoing Sally Corp involvement at the Warner Village parks. Bring on the dark rides!
  16. Exactly what I noticed. I hope they are indeed retaining the building as this means the water coaster could have a dark ride portion. Something I am keeping my fingers crossed for
  17. How inappropriate. Much better suited to the family section. Particularly seeing as though they have a distinct dearth of family attractions right now. When will our parks stop trying to force everything to be a 'thrill' ride?
  18. Oh boy I hope that's not the finished product. Why would 'alien invasion 3d' be part of the Justice League emblem? It should be separate and in a slightly more 'exciting' font. Fingers crossed they just whipped that up temporarily for the ad
  19. I don't understand. Why would they have dropped the already cheap price by $10 in a year when they are adding such a fantastic new attraction? If this keeps up, I really wonder if they will be able to justify top-notch attractions going forward
  20. Yep you're right. Totally agree. I think they should wean them off slowly by lifting the price a bit more each year. I mean, aren't families getting enough handouts and bonuses from the Government now to afford this stuff? PS xRazzBerryx - Don't get your hopes up about the new attraction
  21. And boy does that annoy me. People have become SO FRIGGIN CHEAP these days!
  22. I just don't see Dreamworld doing it. Especially when they have already built Shockwave, Buzzsaw & Dreamworks in the last year. I'm pretty sure as far as Ardent/Dreamworld is concerned, the capex spent on these 3 attractions would have been intended to see them through the next 3 or so years with no other major new rides. That's just how they work unfortunately. Maybe this will teach them to actually choose DECENT rides when making their next purchase. My bet is on it being a minor attraction similar to Flowrider, AVPX, Redline etc. All the better for Movie World to show them up
  23. Oh Dreamworld, eat your heart out! PS Glad to see they finally released some new artwork/promo material to go with this attraction. Maybe they will put in a decent marketing effort afterall
