  1. ^It is a publicly available design...I stuffed up, the ride model is called a "Demolition Derby" and it is listed under the 'best seller' category on www.zamperla.it (linking wont work) The other ride I have forgotten to mention, but I have been wanting to see is the humble disko, it just looks like another fun little ride.
  2. On the topic of kids rides, Sylvester's pounce and bounce has to be the lamest kids ride I have ever seen. I was expecting a fairly bouncy ride program like the shock drop at LPM, or any of the frog hoppers out there, but it was way too slow compared to them, it seemed like the vehicle was basically being slowly lowered to the ground in small steps, even the kids on it looks bored and were lulled over onto the lap bar.
  3. ^A Zamplera traffic jam is a ride I only recently discovered, but I think its figure 8 movement and near collisions are really cool. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sZACKgQ6_p0
  4. ^It was closer to 20 or so minutes on Friday at night.
  5. ^Translation: They need to build rides for pussbags like me.
  6. It's a difficult theme to work with, If its themed to a fair/show then the best I can think of is simply something with a carnival theme, say like California Screamin I guess if you want to go for the livestock theme then rides like El Toro or Raging Bull could form some basis for what you are wanting to do. Personally though, if it's a whole park you are doing then perhaps you could put the ride in some other area and give it a 'stronger' theme, as a fair/show themed looping coaster is a bit of a weak concept that would be difficult to immerse guests in.
  7. But nobody who actively posts here works for technical services.
  8. Yeah, it never opened. I spotted the door open, and a blue shirt came out of it and went outside down the stairs to another part of the building, so I'm guessing something is up with the lift because that door was open later on too.
  9. They are indeed now doing stuff for the new show. Nothing really notable, they have just taken out the steam engine (I hope that goes to the Wild West area) as apparently the arena will be much larger to accommodate the run ups needed for some of the stunts.
  10. Was pretty quiet today at MW. Only thing that marred it was SDSC having its blocking system in place all day, preventing me from riding. Lowlight of the day was when the train made its stop at Beenleigh and the huge crowd of ferals got on and were talking loudly playing woeful music full blast through crappy, tinny mobile phone music player speakers. Highlight of the day was riding Superman twice at night, and later, seeing a guy with a T shirt with the Wolfmother logo and "F******* Sucks!" printed below it.

    No Limits Help

The only way to have music with rides is when you are using NL as a screensaver....Go into the the bit of Windows control panel where you can change screensavers, pick NL1.6 as your screensaver, then in the screensaver settings you can play around with the music that goes with it. Then preview the screensaver (or wait however long it takes to start) and there it will be. In the normal game, the only way you can really do it is to run Itunes/Media Player at the same time in the background with music playing, as there is no inbuilt music setting.
  12. I saw this earlier, and it pretty much seems like the clincher to return to Orlando for in the future. Flyers are a great attraction in themselves, but what they are doing here seems so elaborate, and more considered than the theming on the flyers to date.
  13. Isn't Rockhampton north of the Gold Coast?
  14. I was planning on heading to the last showing of PA on April 30th (That is the date of the last show right?) But I just wanted to know a couple of things. -What time in the afternoon does the last show run? I'm asking because I have other commitments that day, and would have to travel from the Cleveland ferry terminal down to Movie World, and it looks as if I wouldn't be able to make it to the park till 3pm -Is anybody else on here planning to attend on that day? Should we all do an unofficial mini meet or something?

  16. Yeah, but no other place has you paying a set amount for a days entertainment. It doesn't matter if say a retail outlet didn't open till later because you are still getting the full value out of whatever goods you buy. In this case shorter hours only really effects customer convenience. On the other hand, your DW ticket is supposed to grant you 7 hours entertainment, but there is no way to get that. Doesn't bother me too much, people can just vote with their feet and visit the place where they can get the same amount of entertainment as any other day. I never considered the idea of being able to night ride, so I might go down to MW.
  17. Most have them on the top, bottom and side: http://www.rcdb.com/m/ig3183.htm?picture=49 http://www.rcdb.com/m/ig2451.htm?picture=4 This is comparable to the arrangement on steel coasters. There is no other safe way to do this on the layouts modern woodies are known for, since the trains would be able to jump the tracks. Some of the old woodies (as in the very very old ones) the tracks were more like a trough that the trains ran within. http://www.parkz.com.au/photo/AU/Melbourne...ic_Railway.html The coaster would run on the main wheels, and wheels at the side would keep it on course going around the bends. There is nothing stopping the train lifting off the track, so a brakeman is employed to control the speed of the coaster as it goes around the course. http://www.parkz.com.au/photo/AU/Melbourne...ic_Railway.html
  18. Lol nah, it's a little guy rolling his eyes, so its sort of representing sarcasm, or exasperation, your happy expression is this one: , just thought i'd let you know because people might misunderstand you, or the meaning of your post might not get across as you intended. A couple of examples of a mouse layout are here: http://www.parkz.com.au/photo/AU/Sunshine_...0-Overview.html and here http://www.parkz.com.au/photo/US/Tampa/Bus...etah_Chase.html They all sort of follow a similar format, it starts off with a zig zag section, and then finishes off with a set of dips that run around underneath.
  19. I had always thought it followed a pretty standard mouse layout, but instead of doing a 270 degree helix after the switchbacks it did a dip, bunny hill, rise, then a u turn over the station, then another dip and a turn back to the brakes...am I remembering it properly? You do realise that " " indicates sarcasm? So are you saying you want Eureka to come back, or do you want it to stay closed?

    Flying Coasters

I think from riding, the only real issues I could see were that in few of the half loops (and the last one in paticular!) it slows down far too much and kills the pacing worse than motocoaster. The other thing is the realism of 'outside' loops. If you look at some of the real life flyers ( http://www.rcdb.com/m/ig1976.htm?picture=56 or http://www.rcdb.com/m/ig3793.htm?picture=27 for instance ) you can see areas that would produce strong positive G's on a sit down coaster, such as the bottoms of drops are quite drawn out due to the pressure on your chest, so in the flying riding postion, 'outside' loops might be too much. 'Inside' loops work fine though as you can see though as force lying on your back is quite bearable.
  21. It's a speaker for sure. I'd bet it's for emergency communication or something.
  22. Apathetic employees who don't care much about the contents. If you cant keep that image on here, you could just go for the neutral ground of wikipedia and make up some fair use rationale.
  23. Why is that? I would have thought It would have made more sense to have the experienced team working on this, rather than a division who has never built a new attraction.

    RCT3 Massacre

^As in there is about 130 videos on youtube of people who have already done stuff like this. Its still pretty funny though, I remember discovering you could do it with rafts coming down a water slide on a test run, and thinking it looked funny because people flew around as if it was moon gravity.
  25. I forgot to post this, but I went on the HS website on the day of those letters and wrote a response, and it got printed. I rescued the paper from the recyling bin, so you can be assured its not poo smeared on there. Originally I had asked my location not be printed (since I didn't want to appear as if I was an outsider who didn't understand Victoria), but the letters to the editor guy emailed me back and asked if it was ok if they changed that first line to say I was an ex Vic so they could print my location in accordance with their polices, oh yeah, nice compromise, but Thanks for the bloody Queenslander pun The other thing I have been meaning to post is this. Not that you can see anything, but it proves they do have a colour concept art done. (I found it by chance in Google images on one the website of some Werribee local rag, cant remember the URL, but that was the best pic they had anyway) Richo, are you able to work your magic and use your media position to get hold of full sized concept artwork?
