Im not, would you rather me write: "I wonder how on earth Walter Bolliger and Claude Mabillard came up with that name?"

Why would they send it to Wangaratta ahead of Shepparton, we are bigger. Anyway, I went yesterday and had a bit of fun, but the prices marred it a bit. I firstly went on the crazy mouse/coaster , It was rater quite cool and its fun when you get to the second set of switchbacks where there is some good rotations, it could have been better if the rotations were there from the start, I was also suprised the ride had an on-ride photo. Next up I tried out hard rock and it was easily the best value ride of the lot and it had a short queue. You load into one of four sets of inward facing seats and sit down, unfortunatley the op pushed in my restraint so far i couldnt breathe all the way in. It was also rather funny seeing the op try to talk on the mike to us even though you couldn't hear him over the music. The floor system on the ride simply splits in two and the seats start rotating, then the fun starts with the swing, you get a good ever changing view, and its funny watching everyone else but the rotation was a bit nauseating, but bearable. I would rather the outward facing seats like on the Claw becasue you get a better view and it spins slower. It gave great airtime at the top and some strong Gs at the bottom, you got that wierd face putty feeling. Overall a great ride. Next up was mega drop, terrible value ($8) but I still did it, I got a nice view of the city at the top and you dont know when it is going to drop, suddenly you hear a hydraulic hiss and you are on your way down and braking before you know it. The freefall seemed to take longer then how it looks when you watch it. I then went on a simulator that had an underwater coaster movie, but I got a bit of a laugh when I saw that the film was the Crystal Beach Cyclone track from NL with some visual effects added. I had by then run out of time and had to catch a train into the city to see Geelong play Brisbane at the MCG.

Thre is probably another part of the roller coaster in the way of the next track piece to be laid. And also, the only track after half loops that can be put in are half corkscrews or half barrel rolls. I assume you are attepting to add another half loop after the first one, but you cant do this because the half loops are in a straight line so another half loop would collide with the first one, you just use a normal vertical loop in these situations becasue they sort of veer across to the left or right (depending on the one you picked) like in real life so track doesnt get in the way. Only use half loops if you are making hybrid elelments like cobra rolls or sidewinders.

But I stil wanna read your review. And no, I dont eat pluto pups, lets face it, most of the food vans at the show are pretty unsanitary and old, I'd rather not eat at a salmonella hole, and the vans really annoy me too, they continually play a stupid repetitive tape of someone talking about all the food you can get, but luckily the showgrounds in my town have some good fast food outlets across the road so at least I can get lunch without getting the runs. Plus, what meat is in the middle of the pluto pups anyway, if anyone can truly say for sure then maybe I might eat one. Also, can anyone tell me the prices for the ride?

So, did you go today or are you waiting till the weekend? I will be going on saturday before Geelong play Brisbane at the MCG, should be fun and Im really looking foward to some of the rides.

I wonder how on earth Walt and Claude came up with that name, why not just call it a heartline roll or a barrel roll like everyone else? Unless that is what Dorney has decided to call it. Good to see B&M have started using the element though.

Will it have Big W

Sounds good, I like the sound of the improvement for block borfers as the current way is a pain. The new coaster types soud fun too, like the motorbike coaster and the impuse, now I can try a recreation of tornado at Saakanemmi.

Well, I'd locate mine in melbourne on a site with some rolling hills so the coasters could be terrain coasters. It would have a B&M invert with an intense layout, a standup coaster, a nice woodie, a bright and colourful kids area, a very wet river rapids, a double space shot, a lake in the middle of the park and some good flats like a giant topspin and a zeirer star shape. It would be based on my park i designed and posted here a while back. And it would be a private company so i could have big new rides without shareholders getting in my way. I would also make sure each new ride being put in was better than what the GC was doing.

I have just stumbled across some layout pics For Hydra the revenge t Dorney Park http://www.dorneypark.com/public/inside_pa...rack_layout.cfm, It looks really cool, and it has 7 inversions, but no mid course brakes and no vertical loop, but it has a cokscrew that comes before a cobra roll and a "jojo" roll that comes before the lift hill. It also has a inclined dive loop, another B&M first. I wish I could head over to the states to ride this when it opens, it looks great. Hopefully it is showing the future of B&M coasters as some of their more recent rides have been very cookie cutter.

Its good to know a theme park nut who actually appreciates the ride got in ahead of some snotty nosed member of the GP. Have fun and make sure you tell us about it.
-
Oh whoops, I was under the impresiion it opened tonight, so how did you get in?
-
Its 8:15, so what was everything like, is it worth forking out the $15 for the right to pay more money to go on rides? Did you ride on the rainbow? Was mega drop mega fun? Are they travelling the Hard Rock other than to captial cities?
-
Why did you go making a thread without anything in it yet? why not just make the thread when the review was avaliable instead of getting my hopes up for nothing?
-
It wors for me, It looks rather cool just seeing the floor drop away like that. do you know why the ride can be ridden yet? the restrain looked like itwas working and testing looked fine.
-
I have seen the gallery and it looks really cool, they have done a really good job of the themeing, but how did they get the station wagon into the middle of the support? was it cut in half and put back together? I dont really like their explanation of why they didn't make it fit in with ocean parade, but I can live with it. BTW, with the shots in the gallery, is there a way to get the to open in another IE window?

If you are kken to expand your knowledge on all sorts of amusment ride related things, you cant go past www.coasterforce.com it has heaps of info and it is pitched at coaster newbies.
-
I was initially under the impression it was a flat ride maker where you could design your own rides using beams, pivot points, Hydraulic rams and motors.
-
Im suprised there is not more discussion on this "fantastic new attraction". Would the waterpark be able to fit a coaster in there?
-
What is it? I dont really want to DL it without knowing what it is.
-
They could also use cars like on a vekoma hammerhead stall, its the best of both worlds, foward lauch and foward drop.
-
What ones are the kiddie slides, I dont remember them, I just remember the big tower and the 2 slides with all the turns. Unless you mean climbing on the mushrooms and sliding off them, ah fun times.
-
what I sort of meant was having two stations and a transfer track, and having one station run a fowards pod and the other a backwards pod.
-
It would make sense for them to remove it as it would force people to go to WnW. It kinda sucked how it wasn't heated too.
