No, I meant the things visible in the centre of this photo:http://www.rollercoasterpro.com/updates/kb.../IMG_6759.shtml

Why does Queensland have the main theme parks
Gazza replied to brady's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Because QLD is warm and a major tourist destination, and becasue nobody seems to think its wothwhile building a good park, even a waterpark in Australias two biggest cities. I serously just want to get a swag of cash, build a park in melbourne or sydney and blow the GC parks out of the water and show the australian GP what theme park really means and that there is more to a coaster than 2 loops. -
Are there any photos? Did they have the water people in the seats?
-
Whey do you come down to Yarrawonga? do you go boating? the lake is full of trees which is why we are a bit wary of boating there. What are the slides like, I know there is this one with a loop at the start with a couple of turns, but there is alos this other one which is not as good and it is a farily simple layout. Mulwala also had that crap dodgems/mini golf place. Now back on topic, I wonder why parks dont buy even a few of WLs kiddie rides, its not as recognisable as say a coaster, and it would be a cheap way of entertaining the kids. If I were running another park here I would snap a couple just to boost things a bit, but I wondnt add them as a substitute for something else.
-
I thought it was a kung fu pig.
-
I know those slides at yarrawonga, they looked OK, but they never seem to open. Another of my crazy Ideas is to combine BB with the beach as said above, with more slides and a couple of carnival style rides (no they woulnt be permanent travellers like at LPS, just park model rides with lots of lights) and have a pleasure peir themed park. But that will never ahppen, but its fun to dream.

I think the wheels are made of nylon. BTW, what is with that nova wheelie bin thing in your sig?
-
I would assume they are the same, I think they are both made by AWL, maybe email them and ask.
-
I beg to differ and I think more coasters with insane helixes should be built, they are a good way to boost the intensity and it would be easier than say an inversion due to the closeness to the ground.
-
Thats pretty funny, but that would actually be a good ride if it were built in real life, you would get the swing of the main arm, the rotation of the wheel and a side to side swing from the gondolas.
-
I think the claims are unfounded, how can a ride 3 miles away produce vibrations in the houses, thats a load of bull. Also, apparently the couple who had the legal battle against AT acutally own a pottery, and people are planning a legal fight against them due to the industrial noise produced by the factory. I hope they lose so they get a taste of their own medicine. I doubt AT will get rid of oblivion, It cost too much and they would try sand filling and malliboomer style scream guards to make things a bit quieter.
-
I hope not, They could try scream guards to make things quieter. The complaint about fireworks is stupid too, It only happens once a year.

Were there any good ones to do with SRR? The shuttle I was thinking of was Mr Freeze, but of course, you would have to be pretty dumb to think you could put 2 trains on Demon, I would have said to the person "How do you propose we do it?"
-
That 2 train demon thing is funny, but some shuttle coasters can actually run 2 trains. And were yo taling to me with that gun comment???
-
Can you share a few more Daniel? How many people thought the coasters had motors in the cars?
-
Well, they ended up showing 3 rides at 3 parks; journey to atlantis at SW san diego, TOT at Disney Land and The Mummy at Universal. They also showed some little tidbits of stuff around each of the parks, but nothing more than a few seconds. Oh, and according to the presenter, Sea World is a "World famous waterpark"
-
Well, I personally wouldnt be too worried about missing superman, its bad and all that they havent bothered to fix it, but at least we can ride one here. BTW, what sort of Gs do you pull in that infamous helix, I wonder if it is as intense as the helix on nemesis, apparently that one pulls 4gs.
-
Yeah, I suppose, maybe a better post title would be is "Things non enthusiasts say" Anyway, heres one, At the exit of Thunderbolt: "That was fun".
-
You mean Ettamogah Pub^ The park with it is called Aussie World. Hey NZ, do you have any decent pics of the park? I have only seen the photos on RE's website, and they are niether big or good.
-
Lol, that body limbs thing sounds funny, it would be halarious if they had a mock up gondola and put it on top of the station, all wrecked with the roof all dented, as if it had fallen off the tower. I know AT scatters things around their rides to scare people.
-
I reckon the new spoke style looks worse, but the ride still looks cool, but the dropping floor thing looks smaller than the actual ring of seats, or doesn't it have to be bigger than the ring?
-
This gives me an idea, maybe you could do an Austrailan theme park survey, and have the results as an article.
-
Maybe they also stop lubricating oil dripping into the rapids then.

LOL, notice the monorail pics are the only ones in colour. That stuff about buisnesses going under during Tramway construction is a load of codswollop, whenever tram works happen around Melbourne, you dont normally see all these shops boarded up. The saftey record is a good point for monorails, but monorail are incapable of level crossings so thats why they rarley screw up. Trams work well if the tracks are in their own section in the middle of the road. Dont really have a problem with the overhead wires myself, they look tidier than powerlines.
-
So why dont they let people queue closer to where the gates are so the op has to walk a shorter distance.
