  1. Just stumbled upon this YouTube channel called Greggy Gilgen, which is a gold mine for videos of the parks in the 90’s and early 2000’s! Some highlights include a POV of the Gremlins Ride complete with the entire blooper reel pre-show, a full ride through of the original Batman ride and a Wild West Falls POV that includes parts of its pre-show as well as the original “expanding barrel” finale! Take a look: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCUMX5clFDUE8ynDOZ4MzO4Q/videos

  2. If this isn't the best idea for Seaworld's next coaster - I have no idea what is.

  3. It looks like it could be a maintenance nightmare, given that it’s the first of it kind and that it features seats that move up and down as the coaster travels around the course. It’s definitely not a coaster that was expected but it might be a great coaster only time will tell when it gets built.

  4. Firstly @Noll_57, great find, credit where credit is deserved. Was awesome to see some footage of the spark effects on WWF, there's only one other video that I've seen that shows them. Do we know why they were removed? I heard it was because of the fire, but I do believe it was outside of park hours, so it couldn't have been caused by the sparks. Now, some of the credit for me doing this has to lay with @Ashley Jeffery, since he showed his old DW souvenir book, it inspired me to do the same. So, please be sure to thank him. Coincidentally, I've got that same book, but I also have an older one. Not sure of the year it came out, but it was before Whitewater World, so I'm going to guess 2005. The older one is on the left. A few pics of the inside of the older book. A close up of the writing if anyone is interested. Obviously it was still TOT not TOT2. In this image you can see a picture on the bottom left showing what Giant Drops theming once looked like, before it had deteriorated. Glad they're doing a reno on it. This is a pic from the newer book, along with the next picture. Whitewater World got a page at the very end of the book. The books remained pretty similar, apart from some changes on the front cover, the main picture changing, and a few other changes, it basically remained the same. I was a kid at the time of getting both of these books, and up until they stopped printing park maps I also once collected them, I only have DW maps. This is the oldest map I have, TOT2 was only brand new at the time. I once had a few other maps which were from the early 2000s, before Nick Central, unfortunely I lost them several years ago when moving house.

  7. It's directly from this scene in the film "The Treasure of the Sierra Madre": Why is it there? The two cowboys right before the backwards drop also use (paraphrased) dialogue from the same scene - "Badges? We don't need no stinking badges!" I guess they thought adding something from the original would give it a bit of continuity?

  10. It’s very hard to hear, but I’m pretty sure it’s supposed to be a group of guys claiming they’re “Mountain Police”, to which a second character replies saying “If you’re the police, where are your badges?” No idea why it’s there or how it relates to anything, but I’m quite certain that’s what it says. Also, not sure who else has noticed but the original lift hill audio that used to play in this section (a very short loop of music about 30 seconds long) has for some reason become the main background music for the entire queue line as well as the splashdown area and constantly plays on repeat. Not sure who’s bright idea that was. Drove me nuts last time I was on the ride. I feel sorry for the staff who have to sit and listen to that all day. Bring back the original 1 hour long music loop with Will Smith any day!

  13. Yeah, that’s what it was like when I went. On my visit WWFs wasn’t too bad, still many things not working. But I was thinking they have also removed some audio effects, they have also added a new audio effect on the first lift hill.
