  1. Despite the terrible weather over the past 2 weeks, construction is speeding along! Track is complete on TNT, and themeing is slowly being added. A lot of concreting has been done around both coasters. I got to witness them installing the train bogies for TNT, which was a really interesting process. If you want to see that in chronological order, start here, and go backwards. They ain't mucking around, and are really pushing for that Dec 23rd opening! Below are some high-res photos from the visit. But there are more in the Parkz database - Project Zero and TNT.

  3. Again the thing about Claw is it's quite popular generally, it's in exactly the right spot, and it isn't giving away your new hotness for very little. Also it gets people more used to going on rides at DW again. It's like 'OK, come to DW, don't even have to go on any rides if that's something you're worried about'. 'Oh you're here now, how about this old friend?'. Make it $20 for an all night pass so people go on a few times, you get some extra atmosphere in the place, you are doing something no other trendy market can do which may attract more people, and you're making money while doing some repair work to the reputation. Just seems so obvious to me.

  4. I've said it before and I'll say it again, Claw for $5/$10 makes a lot of sense

  5. It’s been incredibly successful. I think the name change is to reflect a greater level of partnership between the 2. We already know the wave swinger will operate at the markets, and the schnitzel outlet has been operating during it, as does the Lego store.

  6. Those are some amazing shots @Luke. I can't wait till I can sneak down there during my next work trip. Looks like a bunch of fun!

  7. Vekoma has been building yet another prototype at their factory in Vlodrop, identified only as "ZigZag" by construction permit. Could this possibly be the inclined turntable? Source

  8. But the 1st train should be out of the station on DCR before the 2nd one gets back, so the station block is clear. If the train didnt have to fully stop on the brakes it wouldn't have to crawl on the last turn.

  9. I was probably more trying to reflect the thinking of a reasonable number of voters rather than my own opinion. On those polls, personally I'll always rate a punisher lower than a passive coaster. Arkham did offer an okay ride experience, the new restraints made it much better and you didn't get cauliflower ears from the jerky transitions. I haven't ridden Gold Coaster in so long, not even the hot wheels incarnation. Didn't bother when I was there in Oct. Jungle Love Coaster should be fun, but oh my gosh $35 million is a lot for a family coaster. Personally, I would have got multiple really solid less expensive drawcard attractions for the money, but we'll see how it goes.
