  1. We went to Movieworld yesterday and frankly it is embarrassing. Our passes due to expire next week so we thought we would take a look one last time before they expire. the park was frankly an embarrassment, operations are still dreadfully slow, staging out the wait times unnecessarily. Most rides are shut, running a dualling coaster with one train is an embarrassment and even rides like Road Runner now run on shortened times (12-4). With rubbish food at midday we left and went and ate at Jane’s, then did Jungle Rush, Taipan and Sky Voyager and the conparison between the two parks is as clear as it can be. It’s paying off for Dreamworld too, as the park was clearly busier than Movieworld.

  2. Yeah that makes sense, I didn’t realise they were working on the second train. Overall a really well run night, the rain once again did make it difficult with a number of rides struggling in the conditions. Taipan was really struggling with keeping up the demand in the rain. But even with a huge line, single train and a breakdown that extended an hour we still only waited 2 hours for tailwhip including the breakdown. Proving that Dreamworld is still absolutely winning in the ride operation department. The dedication to guest satisfaction just continues to amaze me at Dreamworld, staff always seem to go above and beyond and I really do think Dreamworld is in a really good place at the moment.

  3. Have they though? My understanding is people were still lining up at the trough while Village continued to coast on their previous reputation? Have guest numbers finally dropped significantly as a result of the guest experience? or are the numbers dropping due to the current cost-of-living climate? Any potential investor will see current figures and assume financial climate is the reason for the downturn, so they get to keep shitting on the guest experience and blaming lower profit on 'the environment'. Say it with me folks! PEOPLE. DON'T. WANT. TO. VISIT. A. WATERPARK. IN. WINTER.

  4. Not caring about the guest experience means crowd levels have reduced, which means they have less profit. I don’t know how to run a business, but surely that’s pretty obvious right?

  5. Yeah - I understand it's a night event but the train rebuilds have to happen at some point and this is off season for them. Outside school holidays and heading into winter is when you can afford to drop some of your capacity to get things done. Clearly taipan was popular which is good (especially since tailwhip is getting so much patronage - looks like charging less for a seat actually DOES work! (cough, village, cough))

  6. I think that's extraordinarily unlikely at this stage. Dreamworld's flag is on the rise and the valuation right now wouldn't be the bargain that those sorts of investors like to take on.

  7. @Coasterjoe I believe the second train is out of action for maintenance at the moment
