  1. I thought it was under designed and that's why it fell apart. Stupid me.
  2. I know what you’re talking about @reanimated35 If you wobble your screen it moves.
  3. @djrappa that's what I was taught in QLD also. I also taught how to secure my horse & cart before entering the pub.
  4. @Brad2912 I think a lot of people would be happy if the caravan park went and I doubt the residence of the park would even notice their vans being reduced to rubble. I wish for once main roads would sexy an overpass up on the Gold Coast.
  5. I have been going through the new application and came across this. I have heard the government talking about a new overpass but I have never seen it. Just thought I would put it here in case the overpass goes ahead one day. I also know some of you guys are local and might be interested in it.
  6. @reanimated35 You sound like you really love golf.
  7. Ok I have a bit of an update. This resort was knocked back last year and I forgot to tell you about it. The owners are trying again so it was in the news. DEVELOPERS of a $500 million resort and apartment project next to Dreamworld have asked for their own development code to get around zoning they say was created by Gold Coast City Council by mistake. Gordon Corp’s $500 million proposal for high-rise apartments, resort hotel, apartments, shops and tourist attraction next to Dreamworld was released for public consultation this week, with proponents seeking to build three towers, the highest with 27 storeys above a podium. Planners for the project have applied for their site to have its own development framework and height limits, and note the Tower of Terror next-door is 119m. They write in their application that the site’s designation as rural living or open space was done “in error” and that it was designated for commercial industry by the former Albert Shire due to its proximity to the M1 and other key infrastructure. Height guidelines are currently controversial in other parts of the Gold Coast, particularly on The Spit at Main Beach, where ASF has proposed a $3 billion resort and casino with towers as high as 45 storeys. The ASF site is in an area currently zoned for three storeys and is next to Sea World, which hosts the 28m Storm Coaster, which is the equivalent of about eight storeys. City Planning committee deputy chair Donna Gates said the two sites were not comparable and that the Coomera site’s rural and open space zoning needed an update. “I’m surprised was not rectified in the City Plan because clearly that’s not an appropriate zoning for it, so I would be supportive of assisting them with anything they might need to move it forward,” she said. Cr Gates said the committee would look at the proposed building height in the context of the Tower of Terror that “dwarfs everything” being nearby. “I think it’s a real positive forward step, close to the theme parks there’s been a glaring need for accommodation for some time,” she said. The Coomera development would join a host major projects proposed in the city’s north, and is close to the $1 billion Westfield Coomera Town Centre and $500 million marine precinct expansion. Public consultation closes February 27
  8. Next time something goes down and the reporters ask everybody on the way out if you were on it somebody should make some bullshit up to the reporters. "Yea I was like hanging from my feet and like, the park was worried I was getting dehydrated so like, they had to hook me up and like, rehydrate me through my ass because like, it was the only hole pointing upwards.” "They like, told me to keep my mouth shut so I wouldn't like, seep"
  9. What I find interesting is they have fenced either side of the creek creating 2 enclosures. Knowing that both areas will be the location of TopGolf why would they separate the areas with 2 fences. My thoughts are – Area (A) Nothing will happen here until the movie has finished filming. Area (B) 1st stage of earthworks. Area(C) This is where the coaster track will be stored during construction and now the fence is up waiting on the tracks arrival. Once area a & c are available earthworks will move into those areas. Skeet has no idea just thoughts.
  10. LOL I remember your demon stuck upside down at Expo fun park. I also remember your demon always on the news because it was always stopping on the second hill and the riders has to be removed during Expo88. I got stuck on it once at the end of the ride. I don’t know if the operation of it was changed when it moved. When I rode it at the end of the ride the operate would manually release the brakes with a switch to lower the train back into the station. As the operator rotated the switch to release the brakes the switch broke and came off which left us stuck with half of the train out of the station. It was fixed in 5min but that’s my clam to fame.
  11. The Gold Coast new wake park should be open for Australia day. Just thought I would post some of the construction photos for it.
  12. I like it. 1 temp fence for TopGolf and 1 temp fence for the coaster next to each other. Second thoughts could they be temp fencing the area near the coaster for the track arriving next week?
  13. I think that's why they have called in the emergency services to remove them. On a hot day like today it might be a quicker option.
  14. Strange question but if somebody is riding with VR what will happen with the VR movie. Would it stop at that point all would it continue to the end of the ride?
  15. Groundbreaking & tree removal for TopGolf started today.
  16. You can't take it all in from the fast lane. When I know, I'm going to be driving past I leave 5min earlier and do a quick drive-by. I doubt ever in my life time I will get to see another hyper being constructed. Other people’s photos are great but they don’t do it justice. I even push it to the 10mins barrier sometimes and get out of the car and walk over to the GL looking towards WnW and try to picture it in my head and how it will end up looking. Welcome to Parkz @Ash
  17. @Ash Hot tip. When you drive open your eyes. Something new is always going on. At the moment the fence is going up and new stormwater drainage is going in around the station area.
  18. An encouraging trading update from Ardent Leisure now has the stock showing value “too hard to ignore”, according to Credit Suisse analysts, who have boosted their recommendation to outperform, from neutral. The analysts see a potential 40 per cent earnings-per-share increase over two years as confidence trickles back into the company following a deadly incident at its Dreamworld theme park in late October. Shares in Ardent Leisure plunged as much as 32 per cent over October 25 and 26 after four people died on a family ride at the Gold Coast tourist destination, with investors bracing for significant legal and regulatory fallout. The stock hit a nine-month low at $1.82 but has since recovered. The trading update, released by Ardent on Friday, referenced “very positive guest sentiment” at its theme parks and “strong revenue growth” at Main Event, which Credit Suisse analyst Matthew Nicholas sees as an “inflection point”. “We believe the update represents a cyclic bottom from a newsflow perspective — the market has a sense on base attendances at Dreamworld and a weak first-half like-for-like result at Main Event has been confirmed,” Mr Nicholas said. Along with the recommendation upgrade, Credit Suisse puts forward a sum-of-the-parts 12-month price target of $2.80, which compares to yesterday’s closing price of $2.31, up 3.4 per cent for the session. “We’ve cut fiscal 2017 earnings (forecast) per share by about 23 per cent. However, downgrades to outer years (2-7 per cent) are less severe,” Mr Nicholas said. “On updated numbers, Ardent Leisure trades at 17.5 times forward price to earnings ratio for fiscal 2018 (with our Dreamworld earnings about 70 per cent below peak fiscal 2016 levels), offering around 40 per cent earnings-per-share growth into fiscal 2019 through virtue of the Main Event rollout (US comprises almost 80 per cent of group earnings by this stage).” Credit Suisse estimates Ardent Leisure revenues fell about 63 per cent in December following the tragedy, but says drawing conclusions on this basis is problematic because many of the park’s rides were closed. Other brokers remain cautious on Ardent, with analysts at UBS, JPMorgan, Bell Potter and Macquarie all branding the stock a hold. Can't all be all doom and gloom with CAB buying a 5.05% stake into ARDENT yesterday.
  19. Did a drive-by at lunch. New black metal bar fencing with the old-school scout poky bit on top of each metal bar being installed. No need for photos with my description.
  20. Just a friendly reminder if you a planning on sticking around at Parkz. BUY A FUCKEN NEW KEYBOARD!
  21. Which day @Ryande16? I'm positive nobody here will take any photos when it happens. Next week or the week after that or even 3-4 weeks with around 35 days shipping time to Brisbane I would say that this baby is on a boat right now. Small trivia that I came across while carrying out my research. You can pay to travel on a cargo ship. Most ships have 1 - 5 cabins they hire out to the public. WHO'S KEEN for a 91 day round trip to the west coast for $14 000.
  22. Waited how long to get the money shot. Channel 7 deserve a medal.
  23. Don't blame me. My wife had to drop me off at work today after still being pissed from yesterday.
  24. You with your correct reading is staring to piss me off. Please refer to everybody hates @reanimated35 topic. Being bleaches, I believe will only be pulled out when super busy.
