  1. Q4U will not be needed at this time of year. The park is rather quiet nowadays anyway. As far as best place for eating, I would recommend Sharkies Snack Attack next to the wipeout.
  2. Maitland Show Lineup: 5 dodgem tracks Haunted hotel Flash dance Speed Break dance Sky veiw Ali baba Top gun Power surge Matterhorn Hard rock Wizzer Chants wheel 2 carousels Halloween Rock n roll Music trip Twister Hurricane Zipper Also the reason Cessnock would have been such a dud show is because Maitland was on the same weekend. Had it not been washed out a few more rides probably would have shown up.
  3. No, and i'm sure if someone hears something they will let us know.
  4. Was not who I was refering to... but he is scary too! Daniel "It's okay kids! Kenny has Clymydia...he needs to go and have some drops put in his eyes!" Harmer
  5. Yeah, I guess your right. I learnt about that person's bulltwang after an incident not too long ago. So I do know better than that I can understand where you are coming from as far as wages go. But not so much for the early 6 with the 20 rider rule, but in general on days when it is very quiet. Sometimes the line is very long for a ride because they simply don't have enough riders!
  6. Also I didn't think Wipeout was hydraulicly driven, but gear driven. And Lotl, the person that gave me this information a while back is someone starting with a "K" So that person's advice is to be taken with a grain of salt... But I hadn't heard any reason as to why it was done like this. I also don't really get the 20 rider rule if parks in other countries with Identical rides can run with 3 people, and scattered throughout the ride. I know it can be expensive to run a ride so they would want many people on the ride. But it just seems a bit stupid, especially at the end of the day when people have been waiting in the line, only to find they cant ride cause they don't have 20 riders for the last ride.
  7. OMG... The dreaded bees! I can see WPHS getting onto that haha. That has got to be dangerous... All it requires is someone alergic to a bee to get stung and we have a lawsuit on our hands...
  8. It's simple, if you want the perks you pay extra for it. No one says you have to buy it. And I know from experience. You can get all 5 thrill rides done in that hour most days.
  9. But probably just on the neck and eardrums when it's not raining But LETHAL WEAPON in the rain... OMFG... I thought I saw my own death doing that! But the worst thing is the water that catches in the top of the trains, and when you go up on the lift it dumps all over you!
  10. WhiteWater World does not have the early entry. And the wipeout very rarely opens for the 9am start because apparently it is a right royal pain to start up in the morning from what I have been told.
  11. Hmm... every time i've seen it rain, Motocoaster has not ran at all. It may have been broken for other reasons though
  12. Motocoaster does not run in the rain. And Cyclone does not operate in the rain if it is really heavy. I am not sure if Lethal follows the same procedure or if it's just MLO's policy. I remember at the start of the xmas holidays lining up for Wipeout, the guy was in the middle of his speil and the phone rang. He had to do a E-Stop on the ride and everything was grounded for the rest of the afternoon due to a severe storm.
  13. If Dreamworld were to get a flat ride, I'd love to see a Mondial Top Scan go into the park. Themed to a piece of mining equipment or something similar. Hopefully it could run a decent cycle too...
  14. I am still working on getting the track right for the Jet Rescue Re-creation. I want to get it right
  15. Considering there are no rides near the Chalk Zone, at least any that have queue's in the vicinity. The only rides that would possibly impact would be the Thornberry's rampage.
  16. The ride will not be placed at the Access gate near Tiger Island. I can tell you that right now. That area is used for back of house stuff from what I was told. Not to mention it will could be used for the WhiteWater World expansion soon. But from what I could see from WhiteWater World yesterday, the ride is folded up on a trailer now, just like the carnival models.
  17. I think from what he is trying to say, is that the Vortex is not gone from the park and is going to be moved to Nick Central. Weather or not this is the case is yet to be determined, but I doubt it considering the age of the ride. However it was a very popular ride so it may come back. If it does go to Nick Central (No idea where it would fit) I would expect it to be themed to something like Jimmy Neutron or something similar.
  18. ^ That sounds like a great ride! But i'd only want to be a spectator Also Ash, that ride you are referring to is at Wet 'n Wild Orlando is called the "Bomb Bay"
  19. Also note that this pass is only Available to Queensland residents. And proof of residence is required. But it is a very good deal if you ask me!
  20. Gazza, You will find the Reason for the TOH and Cyclone not being interwined on the park map is because they want to show the parks "Seperate, but together" if you know what I mean? The layout of the parks isn't like that fully as we know, but WhiteWater World connects to the Cyclone area like a Jigsaw Puzzle.
  21. Hmm... live actors inside a Laser Skirmish field could be an interesting idea... Daniel "10 Points For Hitting The Crazy Zombie Guy..." Harmer
  22. "World Tourist Attractions Australia are proud to announce the opening of a new Giant Observation Wheel, located on the Perth Foreshore, with spectacular views of Perth’s vibrant heart and the Swan River. The wheel experience lasts approximately 13 minutes. After a brief introduction to the facilities available, passengers enter one of the 36 capsules and are gently lifted to a height of almost 50 meters for spectacular views of The Swan River and downtown Perth. A luxury VIP capsule with leather seating, flat screen TV, DVD and CD player is also available. Tickets can be purchased in person from the ticket office located at the wheel, advanced booking, at discounted rates, is also available via our online system by clicking on this button (coming soon)." The Wheel opened on the 7th of January 2009 This is an article from ABC: "You may have some childhood memories of the fairground ferris wheel, and now a wheel is on its way to Perth. But, the man bringing it here, Nigel Ward, assures us it's no simple fairground attraction. Ward has been taking wheels all around the globe and, in June, is set to bring Perth one that has been used on the Gold Coast and in Birmingham in the UK. "We do everything from short-term temporary visits of about 3 to six months to longer term contracts [of] three, four, or five years," he explains. "Our wheels are state of the art, a million miles away from the traditional fairground ferris wheel most people might imagine. These are truly stand-alone visitor attractions [with] fully enclosed gondolas [and are] air conditioned, very graceful, multi-million dollar investments designed to fit into a wide range of environments." So, how does such a creation end up in Perth? "We identify some key cities in each country that we're interested in going to and then make approaches to local authorities to see if they'd be interested," Ward outlines. Once here, "we can set up one of these wheels in less than ten days and, come removal, we can usually get them down in five days." The fear some might have is that a wheel in one of the world's windiest cities might come down a lot quicker than that when not intended. But Ward assures "they are engineered to a very high level and can operate in surprisingly high winds. We actually choose to stop operation if winds gust to a certain level which is still well below the maximum wind speed we're permitted to operate on, simply because it becomes a bit more of a thrill ride than most people are comfortable with." The thrills of this ride should be of a different type. "Because of the location on your waterfront, you're going to be able to see for miles and miles," Ward promises. "All of our market research shows that when people have friends and relatives visiting, they have a go, and a repeat visit is very common. Also, because the wheels are open normally from 10 in the morning 'til 10 in the evening, you've two different experiences, a daytime visit and also looking at the city at night from that height is a spectacular thing to do." If it is something spectacular that you don't get time to do in it's initial time in Perth, Ward is hopeful you'll get further chances. "The vast majority of towns and cities we've been in for three to six months, nine times out of 10 we get asked to extend the stay because it has proved so popular," he points out. "If I take York [in the UK] as an example, we had an initial contract for three years we now have an option to extend for a further five at the request of the local organisations." In Perth "we have an initial three month term but, if everything goes well, we hope to be able to extend that," he notes before adding, "we're very excited, we think it's a beautiful city, the views across the waterfront are spectacular and we think it's ideal for a wheel."
  23. Heck it may have even been YOU that served me that day... I think it was like the 28th of December or something... But there chicken was actually decent... and we know what Dreamworld AND WVTP's Chicken is like...
  24. That is the exact reason why i'm not super excited to go see it. A truely good show should have a Storyline, Humor and be different. Police Academy had all of those elements to it, whereas Hollywood StuntDriver doesn't from what I've heard. I really do hope that WVTP do improve on the show in the coming years to try and make it live up to what Police Academy was.
