Nah that's just silly talk Skeet, of course they don't! It's actually a nice place to visit and get up close to the Animals - they even give you free food for them, unlike a certain Fish Park down the road.. Just don't go in the warmer months, you'll melt. Or any day much over 25° for that matter. Or a rainy day because there is very little shelter. Or when there is a high fire danger because, well you could die. Other than that, it's a nice little place! Go with no expectations and they will be exceeded, for sure. -

I attended the Media Launch for AOS way back in what, 2006.. loved it. But I never went back. Now seeing this show advertised has re-ignited my interest and for the 1st time in over a decade I have taken the time to find out more about what this one is about. After all these years I have a few good reasons to be dragged back and it is without a doubt doing the same for many others out there too. Sorry A-to the-Lex-to the-B but this tine I have to disagree with thee! People do love the Horses, the Show, the Food - and most definately the Beer! The show now looks to be rebooted enough to keep going for a couple more years before the next story- And that's just it- they can keep coming up with new stories all the time, keep it fresh! AOS ain't going nowhere anytime soon and neither should it. -
^ yeah like floating passed fences with sleeping Animals out of view on the other side.. Wow. There's a reason why Wait Disney didn't go with real Animals when he built the Jungle Cruise.

Thanks @Jordan M. well yes, construction would certainly want to be well along from that picture. Realistically that side of things should be done by now. They've got their work cut out for them for sure!

They've certainly kicked things up a notch (or 5) this time around -the show looks like it's going to be an absolute smash and I have no doubt Village are beyond satisfied with pre-show Ticket sales thus far. I reckon this show will be hanging around for quite a while. -

I am totally fine with what they have done here. Especially when comparing it to the Jet Rescue Exit. In keeping the Non-rollercoaster Rider Folk's happy, howsabout adding few more benches, crank up the air con and pop in a couple of screens showing inside the ride?

Love it!! There's your next big thing @pushbutton😳

Clearly some People have plenty of money to burn.. or they're just stupid. Probably both. Grrr..

Kinda. More Anti-Capitalist - they really didn't want for Americanisation. Germany already had a bustling Film industry and didn't want the yanks trying to show em how it's done, so to speak. I still remember a huge banner held up by a couple of Protesters outside Roxy Theatre that said "WBs GO HOME" - a picture taken by the Press and put on the front page of many Newspapers covering the Opening! Despite generating thousands of jobs and offering a sizeable boost to the economy, the locals hardly rolled out the red carpet! It was also really hard to get (and keep) good Workers.

Hi @themeparknut2011 Australia's Movie World never had a Neverending Story ride. When Germany's Movie wWorld opened some Aus MW originals were improved and altered slightly here and there.. They included Looney Tunes Dark ride (yours was set in the Black Forest, ours Australia) Gremlins (yours had 'Alf', we had Beetlejuice), Roxy Theatre (Germany debuted with Marvin the Martian which Aus didn't get till later), Batman Adventure (roughly the same but Germany ride had a couple more Motion Bases) and Bermuda Triangle (roughly the same as our version formally located at sister park Sea World). Our Lethal Weapon was a Vekoma SLC. Not sure what type/brand of Coaster Germany's LW was but I know it had duelling tracks and by all accounts was a very rough and unreliable ride. Neverending Story was extremely popular in Germany and so it made sense to open the Park with a major ride based on it. As you know it was a large river rapids ride that featured indoor sections and large sets. I worked with the Staff that assisted in preparing and opening Movie World Germany back in the late 90's. Likewise, Germany sent some of their Staff out to Australia to help improve standards in Germany's Park. While in many ways Germany's WBs Movie World was a Superior Park aesthetically and with more content than the original, the whole "Warner Bros." Association never washed well with the locals in Dusseldorf. Opening day was an absolute disaster and the Park really didnt get off on the right foot. There were Protesters, a Skydiving Accident and a Guest had a Heart Attack while in the Batman ride. Both Movie Worlds have long since distanced themselves from offering mostly themed "experiences" focusing more on big rides and Coasters nowadays, but it would seem MoviePark was a better fit somehow for Germany once all the WBs indicies were all but stripped away.

7 News did an article promoting the new SW ride last night but instead of showing footage of the actual version they are getting, they showed footage of that giant 6 Flags Texas one instead, saying that it will be a similar ride. Hmmm.. -

Look it's better than nothing which is precisely what SW would have got as an alternative. I hope it stays there until a more permanent, 60 metre+ feature version can be arranged. -

If temporary I'd be happy with that 40 metre Space jam one as seen at Luna Park Melb. If anything, a few well presented transportable rides could have done wonders for the Park over the last few ultra quiet years. With a little luck the ride will prove so popular that they decide to move forward with a larger and permanent installation -
The ride's program has likely already been set and tested overseas in other functioning venues. Once all equipment has been bumped in they can start closing in the building, interior Q, air conditining etc. For example, way back in the early 90's a Motion base Simulator was set up inside a soundstage over at WB's Studios Burbank where the initial Test and Programming was carried out for what later became the Batman Adventure ride at MW. It made sense to have it over there because it was where everyrhing had to get approved first and also so they could do all the ride profile stuff while the ride building itself was being constructed.

Sea World lighthouse - Star Flyer replacement
MickeyD replied to Jamberoo Fan's topic in Theme Park Discussion
The Lighthouse building has already been completely removed - only the top remains sitting in tact on the ground of the adjacent reclaimed land. A transportable temporary/smaller model would be disappointing. If true. I would rather hold out optimism until proven otherwise. Still, they had a tempory rollercoaster (wild wave/later thrillseeker) at the Park for years and it was probably a lot more fun than what eventually replaced it. -

Visited SW today and noticed the top of the Lighthouse is sitting on the ground over on the reclaimed adjacent land. Maybe there is a plan to salvage it after all? -

I have been wanting for SW to build one of these forever, so pretty happy at that. Agree with @joz odd location choice. This ride doesn't need much foot print so theoretically it will fit where the Lighthouse goes, but it will also fit practically anywhere else in the Park. I'd rather it be placed by Jet Rescue, keep all thrill rides in the same area. On the other hand , the Lighthouse spot is a fantastic visual location and your eyes are drawn to it the moment you enter the Park. @pushbutton apparently is the exception to the rule. For financial reasons I'm sure this wasn't what was originally planned and something with a much bigger budget had to be put on the back burner, at least for now anyway. -
Not the Park @djrappa -just the People in charge of wrecking it.
