  1. Also worthing noting a MyFun ad in the Sunday Mail today stated opening is the 20th for Spongebob (and Dora I assume)
  2. They were handing them out at the entrance of Fright Night
  3. Here is a shot from today The whole parade has been redone, more than just this float... Unfortunately no Justice League.
  4. ^^ I completely agree with you, in regards to the cinema DW (and sometimes VRTP) often does what is better for revenue/business rather than guest satisfaction and the fact VRTP do not seem to value their history nor want to promote it. Castaway Bay, the Aqualoop, Artic Penguins are all suburb additions to their parks however DW is getting all the attention to due a great marketing campaign of the Summer Funomenon. I have heard the same in regards to DW's 2011 ride (pushing boundaries, literally). My understanding is only Senior Management are currently informed, they are certainly being very secretive at this stage. I know nothing much
  5. I am under the impression you can (excluding the 11:00AM session) but dont quote me
  6. From what I have heard the entire ride (Bermuda) is effectively "scrapped" I am thinking they will need a high capacity ride, and rapids would be a good fit if it is themed well.
  7. Whilst it would be nice for Dreamworld to include the movie with admission this is DW we are talking about Whilst the Summer Funomenon looks fairly entertaining it is good to know this is the only thing planned for their birthday
  8. I knew a name change was in the works - I think Skypoint sounds good, the website is up http://www.skypoint.com.au/ - Basically the same site as QDeck although it has the new logo
  9. I would be interested in seeing it (if you upload it) even if it is mostly a big advertisement for VRTP.
  10. I was very impressed with all the floats, a closeup of the train on that float is here Was their any more shows/things happening that wasn't on the charity night?
  11. They certainly could fight it and have every right to request it to be taken down if/when I post it. The fact is I seriously doubt they would care about a book almost 20 years old and no longer in print. Excellent to hear, I have never seen a souvenir book inside MW before.... Anyone know when the one before this was last made?
  12. I was certainly not a fan of the roof when it was being built/in the first few months. But being there when it rains, you can certainly see the benefit, especially for out of hours events. During the first Fright Night this year it was heavily raining, and they could not have held White Christmas/Looney Tunes on Ice, the Parade and more without it. To sum it up - The benefits far outweigh the negatives
  13. I doubt the parks would take issue with old books that are no longer in production being uploaded... I wont be able to upload my MW one yet, am on holiday in the US
  14. I was at the Charity Event White Xmas last night, and the park looked spectacular, all rides were open excluding Wild West and Batwing (Under matinance). The family's/guests attending the night from various tough situations all received free Burger/Drink/Paddle Pop/Sideshow Game, Santa Photos and Ice Skating were also free however these will be "up charges" for the public nights. Photos are up on Flickr, full report will be on my site later today. 7:00PM is Looney Tunes on Ice - "A Christmas Carol" adaption 7:20PM is "Illumination" Turning on all the million fairy lights at once, leading into the... 7:30PM Christmas Parade - Various floats, see pictures in link above 8:30PM is A Rocking Christmas Show - Christmas Carol Singalong These may be different/change on the public nights so dont take my word on it
  15. I have never seen any Gold Coast theme park books... Maybe some Gold Coast history books might have a chapter or similar on theme parks...
  16. I have the latest SW one and two Dreamworld ones. But my most prized possession is the Movie World first anniversary one .
  17. Was at the park yesterday and Bermuda is now covered by a large white construction fence Photos here
  18. ^ Yes According to a poster on MW Facebook anyway, my guess is they didn't want to post a date until they were sure when it would be back.
  19. Been meaning to post these for ages, taken 12th OCT. - I found walking around the site formerly the site of Bungee Jumping, Putt Putt and Wonderland's former Skyhawk very interesting. My favourite photo is this - A Power Box held up on a wheelie bin The site has now been cleared/cleaned up and is available for lease
  20. My understanding is that he does not have any content of his own yet and Parkz content is a placeholder.. That said "Thillz" with ride profiles ect is using alot of Parkz's ideas, overuse of replacing s with z make me cringe! Forumz and Ridez hehe.. Their are a lot of Theme Park sites lately, I myself will be launching a site soon focusing solely on the Gold Coast Parks, my wordpress hosted blog is limiting what I can do presently.. Back on topic, What do you guys want to see on the land formerly taken up by Bermuda?
  21. Thrillz is defiantly not the next incarnation of Parkz/Not affiliated with Parkz...
  22. from Thrillz.com.au Facebook Also this comment on my blog from "Elmo" If I see "Looney Tunes River Ride is presently closed while we continue to develop new and exciting attractions at Movie World" I think I will cry.... anyway
  23. As part of Dreamworld's target "thrill" market, I like it/think it is fairly effective, never underestimate the power of a catchy jingle I also was a little underwelmed by DW's offering, but it is certainly better than nothing... Are the only WVTP "Boxing Day Attractions" a Zip Line and Artic Penguins? DC Comics Parade, Halloween and White Christmas are all outstanding but what is their for everyday guests? The VIP Pass campaign is focusing on Castaway, Aqualoops and JTTCOTE, Castaway/Aqua is great, but as for JTTCOTE most feedback I have heard is "bring back shrek".
