'World Best' Attraction coming to VRTP
Reanimated35 replied to Brad2912's topic in Theme Park Discussion
It happens with every business, but it always makes me wonder. How? If all this stuff is supposed to be secretive and not made public, it's not like one CEO calls the other on a Friday going "yeah Jim, we're about to spend $20 million doing this new cool thing, here's the details. What have you got going on?" -
Oh wow that is really tempting. I think my wife would kill me but my dad would love it if I took him along too

Interesting - I wasn't aware there was another type of 'steam' train than coal. Makes sense though. Are there others too?
-
You just don't get the same feeling riding on a diesel/electric train that you do from an old steam train. It's all about the sounds, smell and soot. Plus it's something different. Take a ride on this and compare it to your normal Citytrain ride.

If Queensland Rail can make "Steam Train Sundays" work, then so can Dreamworld!

One job. You had one job. In the photo you took the sign wouldn't likely be visible anyway as it's slightly over to the right -

$500 million China theme park in Australia, NSW
Reanimated35 replied to mattcrombie's topic in Theme Park Discussion
^ haha, that whole thing sounds dodgy as. Wonder what the real motive is? -
During rollout of CYT, most stores hired additional staff due to the expected increase in demand. In a lot of stores there was no formal training, however they did prefer to hire people with previous experience waiting tables, however this was not a requirement and wasn't something training was provided for. CYT aren't prioritised as such, however are made in a different section of the kitchen. (Having been in a maccas kitchen years ago I'm amazed they found room) This section would usually have 1-2 people specifically rostered on to do nothing but CYT orders. A lot of stores now don't actually roster people for it unless it's a really busy night as the hype has died down. This has resulted in longer than previous wait times. If I'm not mistaken however, the KPI for a CYT order is 15-20 minutes. The baskets would be a case of: > Laziness > Not enough to go around > None clean (basically as above) > Almost close time and they're all being/have already been cleaned As for pagers, I'm not 100% sure, but I think a few stores had issues and some I guess found an easier way for them to do it.

So we've seen this photo posted a few times here, What's to stop you asking for it to be 'well done' or however you prefer it cooked? Could you not have also asked for it to be cooked longer when it came out? Also with the drink, could you not have asked them to wait? How are they to know you only want it with your food? What about the people who want to have a beer before the meal to keep them occupied while they wait?

I think I can see what you're talking about but I'm not convinced that's what it is. -

^ I thought that at first but there doesn't seem to be anywhere to attach another sign. -

^ It almost looks like that sign isn't supposed to be there, or they didn't make it with enough room to add the special. Or are we supposed to read the signs in order and today's special is always the pulled pork? -
In case you were wondering anyway, here's some of the maintenance schedule for 2015

The Parkz Update Movie World, January 2016

Wow. I knew the stunt show was bad, but that's an all new low for a themepark show surely? Looks like Showtime should have stuck to the FMX and just left it at that. -
What can Movie World do to reduce the strain?

Right, we're talking about the loading doors then. Well. How about we blindfold everyone in the queue? -

Oh right you're meaning when the car is in the station waiting to be loaded so you can't see superman at the back. Sorry I thought you mean to replace the exit doors entirely (which you do) but I forgot superman stuck through to the exit platform when it was loading. My bad sorry. -

^ Which is great until they either get on in years or get caught on the train and ripped off. Then the ride closes for god knows how long while they remove and reset the ride. My idea that would never happen but would look cool anyway - hiding it with a water curtain with a superman logo projected onto it. The water curtain would turn off just before the train drove through. Something like this one in Sydney: -
