  1. I often think that ride operators must surely get extremely bored with their jobs. In particular, the way they have to continuously tell guests the same few simple safety rules over and over and over. The rules they tell guests are very clearly communicated by signs, and sometimes by recorded messages too. However the average IQ of the general public being what it is, I suppose they do need to be told by the operators too. I don't think I could cope with having to repeat myself all day every day. Has anyone here had experience doing this? If so how did you manage with the repetition?Do you think that is a major reason for people leaving their jobs at theme parks? One last question for anybody. Do you think there is a better way these safety messages could be delivered, without staff having to repeat themselves quite so much?
  2. I don't know what V8 cars have to do with Dreamworld really. Two different types of people. Those who like car racing have plenty of places to go but theme parks aren't one of them.
  3. Sorry I didn't get a photo, but I saw the fenced off part of the pool near the main entry yesterday (the one that used to have remote control boats in). It appears they are building a sort of stage which partly covers the front end of the pool. At least it looks like a stage to me so far, and it would be a great place for one.
  4. Not so much a simulator ride as an actual state of the art dark ride. To me a simulator ride is one intended to make you feel like you're moving a lot more than you actually are.
  5. If it was anything like this (not necessarily themed on Spiderman, but could be) I'd absolutely LOVE IT!
  6. Right! Are they going to copy and paste this "story" every time a ride stops now? When did you stop needing journalistic skills to write for a newspaper?
  7. I'm at Sea World now. The truck parked next to the Dockside Tavern does have "Logan City Demolitions" marked on it, which explains why the TPSN guy thought the building was being demolished. They seem to be completely stripping it internally. The doors and some of the windows have been removed. The roof of the balcony facing towards the kids area has also been removed. In other Sea World news, the monorail just went past and it no longer has Nikolodeon wrapping. The original white paint is visible once again. I prefer it this way, you can see through the windows!
  8. I have always thought it was a terrible show. Nearly as bad as "How clean is my house", or "Britain on Benefits"!
  9. Yep. I doubt very much that it will be demolished.
  10. According to the theme park social network, the Dockside Tavern is now being demolished! I'd be quite disappointed if that was true, but who knows. Maybe they'll build something new and better. We'll see.
  11. or indeed the carpark could go down, which although more expensive would look far better in my opinion, and wouldn't interfere with the monorail.
  12. That would be perfect! However the mini kids car thing is fairly new, and basic as it may be I doubt they'll want to waste that investment by replacing it just yet.
  13. Sounds interesting. Can't say more than that until I have some idea what it will be.
  14. If it was better pizza than Dominos, (and much cheaper too) I'd actually BUY it occasionally! Let's be honest, Pizza is one of the easiest, quickest, and CHEAPEST foods to prepare, and if done with a bit of thought it can be made moderately healthy too!
  15. I love the idea of a Krusty Krab! So long as the food is MUCH better! Anyone wanting beer could still get one at the bars in the resort.
  16. Handy information to know. I'd never have thought to look there!
  17. Every time I enter any of the Village parks (I don't seem to see it as much at Dreamworld / Whitewater World) I walk past dozens and dozens of people lining up at the ticket booths. I would assume most of them are there to pay for a single day entry. I think it's likely most of these people are interstate or overseas tourists, and thank goodness for them as they give the parks enough money so that I don't have to pay much! Long may that continue, although I'd still be more then happy to pay a fair bit more than I am currently.
  18. In some theme parks, EVERYTHING is themed. One of the toilet blocks at Alton Towers used to have sound effects, lighting effects, and various other effects. Not strictly necessary, but all adds to the overall feeling of being in a magical place (even in the toilets)!
  19. What? I understand why Dinosaur Island was temporary, but surely COTD could be permanent!
  20. Bicker. Bicker. Bicker. Moan. Moan. Moan. Whinge. Whinge. Whinge! Nitpicking. Can't be bothered with it. Joy. Joy. Joy. Celebrate living in the best place in the world I say!
