  1. If Eureka is rebuilt, I hope they go for a spinning coaster. MW has a fantastic Wild Mouse down the road, and it would be hard to beat, while a spinning coaster keeps the family-friendliness, but also adds something that the GC parks currently don't have. I've heard fantastic things about Maurer and Mack spinning coasters, I think a spinner from either of these two manufacturers would work really well for Dreamworld. Something like this or this.
  2. I would say yes, because Sea World has close to nothing and desperately needs something. But I don't know if VRTP would actually do that when it could be more profitable just building a new ride next year.
  3. I'm thinking this is both a good and a bad thing. As a bad thing, DW are in need of a "big" attraction to rival MW. They won't be able to get back up off the ground easily if they don't. However I also think better is what Dreamworld also need, they've put some effort into the park into the past few years, and I think if they continue that around the rest of the park that would be great. If they said "bigger and better", that's when I'd be satisfied. I'm a bit disappointed they don't have plans for any "exhilarating" attractions. Experience attractions are good and all, but you can only have so many, and Dreamworld have a fair few already. Mine Ride reopening is one good thing, but I would honestly prefer they demolished it and put a big coaster in its place.
  4. I guess not marketing it much means shorter queues for us on opening day 😉
  5. @mission that's true, but in the case of international visitors they might not come back for 30 years (that said I would think the coaster would stay for longer than 30 years). I'm not a marketing expert but I just don't agree with the way VR has been going about their marketing.
  6. Nope, I completely disagree. The less information they give, the less people will know about it. Unless they've driven past MW in the past month, they probably have no clue the thing exists. People have made their end of year holiday plans by now and if they had announced the coaster a few months ago they would've attracted the attention of those interstate or overseas, but since they haven't very few of them actually know it exists.
  7. Nope, TPSN's logic is always wrong, you'll learn that eventually. @Reanimated35 has a point, where have you been living the past year to not know there's a Wonder Woman movie coming out in 2 weeks?
  8. Different kind of forces - sorta - Goliath pushes you downwards into your seat, which causes you to lose blood in your head. Tatsu pushes your back into the seat which doesn't affect your head as much
  9. Really looking forward to the headchoppers that mess of track will create
  10. MW's overall message is more suited to the public audience, while Dreamworld's seems to be more focused on informing the people who actually care about the whole safety process (which is certainly not as big a group as MW was targeting). I don't think I can judge which one is "better" as such since they both were giving different messages. MW's was a lot better at convincing the public that their rides are safe, but Dreamworld's I found to be more informative (as I was already aware of most of what was said in MW's video - while I wasn't so much aware of the process Dreamworld's safety audit went through). I also give Dreamworld points for having the best presenter - MW had someone who sounded like she was half-asleep, and Alton Towers had someone who seemed bored out of his mind and was very obviously reading off a script.
  11. Flying coasters people only ever seem to love em or hate em
  12. Batwing especially is a lot more fun when you fly off unexpectedly.
  13. I'm sure we'll see some airtime hills when they start working on that narrow strip of land just after the drop - no room for "twisty" elements there, so a bunch of airtime hills would be a logical choice.
  14. No need to post the same thing twice - I saw your post and edited mine above. @Mods please feel free to delete this and the post above.
  15. Probably some sort of corporate party or wedding or something that they've booked DW out for.
  16. I've experienced plenty of timing errors, and relatively commonly on WWF. I don't really care if this thread is locked, I voted no because discussion will probably continue for a couple of days, then the thread will die.
  17. I'd like to see a review on Maverick
  18. Is the reason you enjoy it so much because it has the same level of forces as a dark ride? @pushbutton Can we have clarification on whether this is a "best coaster you've ridden" thread or a "best coaster you think is out there" thread. I was treating this as a "best coaster you think is out there" thread, as I said I understand why people have it as #1 as the best coaster they've ridden - there are just other coasters I'd prefer to ride over TC and it's not based on anything really, just what I've heard from others and POVs.
  19. @pushbutton's thread on the best coaster in the world gave me the idea for this. People are giving us the best coaster they've ridden, but what about the best coasters you want to ride? I'm particularly keen to hear from people like @Gazza who have a very high coaster count and their bucket-list could be a bit more unique than those of us who haven't ridden coasters overseas.
  20. I honestly disagree with all the people who are saying Twisted Colossus is the best coaster in the world (unless you are saying that because it's the best coaster you've ridden - which is more understandable - mine is Superman Escape since I haven't ridden any coasters outside of the country). For those who are saying it's the best of the best, TC is an incredibly good ride but I can give a list of coasters I would much prefer to ride over TC - Fury, Millennium Force, Maverick, Superman The Ride, Expedition GeForce, Taron, Helix, Shambahla, Lightning Rod, Skyrush, perhaps even El Toro, the Voyage, and T-Express. I would say the real best coaster in the world probably lies in that list. Who knows, perhaps MW's hyper could score a spot in that list - Helix shows that Mack do have the ability to build world's-best coasters. The Big One I completely disagree with - I hear it's quite forceless and almost a boring ride. I'd think Superman would be a better ride than it.
  21. I'm glad you're not one of those really annoying Beast fanboys @Gazza. I've never really understood what the big deal about the ride is.
  22. Chances are at least one media outlet will say it's the same ride as TRRR
  23. Unfortunately, the chances of the media treating the ride as unsafe are almost certain.
  24. As fun as winged seating would be, I couldn't help but think that it would slow the train down a little bit.
