  1. That's interesting - I often find GD's queues are shorter than a lot of the other queues in the park, although I don't understand how the GD could be more sickening than rides such as the Claw and Wipeout. I think one of the bigger reasons it gets shorter queues is because it's further away from the other thrill rides. And despite having a small capacity, it still chews crowds quicker than some of the other rides because of its simplicity to load and operate.
  2. Honestly it's like the media want to stop people going to theme parks, they need to stop making mountains out of every day events.
  3. I lost interest after about a minute... they just seem to swing back and forth with very gradual spinning. It would be a family ride at the very most. There are other flat rides I'd prefer to see before anything like this.
  4. Alternatively, if the Giant Drop ever got old DW could ring up Intamin and make it one of the most popular rides in the park again. Imagine free-falling face-down from that height.
  5. Remember that GL is a much smaller coaster than what's coming, and Australian construction could be different.
  6. I often hear people place it around 4 or 5 after X2, TC and Tatsu or Full Throttle, which among 19 coasters is perfectly reasonable to be "one of the most popular". I have seen it placed higher (ie at #1) too. It's personal opinion though, I'm pretty sure someone from Australia wouldn't rank it as highly purely because they've been on a similar ride many times, while someone from the UK (as above) would love it because they haven't been on anything similar. I haven't ridden it myself so I do know what I said was going to be very controversial.
  7. I'm just not on-board with the whole "shuttle coasters aren't real rollercoasters" thing. If a shuttle coaster is a good coaster, then why not count it as one? One of SFMM's most popular coasters is a shuttle coaster (and a ToT clone at that), so I don't agree with your statement that the best coaster at the park should never be a shuttle coaster. Just my opinion, ToT is my #2 coaster and while I understand I haven't ridden too many coasters it still beats many of MW's full-circuit coasters for me. Let's get back on topic.
  8. Since when was Hot Wheels the coaster to judge DW on? ToT and Buzzsaw are both 'real' rollercoasters too, and they're both definitely above average (quite a bit in ToT's case for me). But yeah I agree now that MW is getting their coaster DW will be a fair bit behind.
  9. Honestly they make the paintwork on the ring look worse (it was fantastic before) and they stick out way too much. I'm sure they've got a reason to be there though.
  10. Fair enough, that probably is the most believable with what we've got, what I said could be viable but if there's only one or two footers you're probably correct at this stage. Finding good photos on how far Flash's supports extend from the drop is hard, but if the size is going to be similar it looks like the coaster would have to come pretty close to the road for the supports to stretch over it since the support that extends out the most is only half-way down the drop. I'm pretty sure a banked drop is most likely at the moment as any other option would either require more land in the carpark or a shorter lift-hill.
  11. So by the looks of things, the lift hill will go by the strip of land between JL and the swamp, up over the entrance road, and then drop above the carpark land and turn towards the entrance (through a curved drop or a banked turn or something)? I mentioned in one of the Parkchat streams a few weeks ago how much I love driving past the coasters when entering a theme park, and driving under one (probably twice if my guess is correct since there would be another transition back to the other side of the road) would make things even more majestic. Very exciting times.
  12. The memberships are so cheap, so I can understand why the price of lockers isn't included. Perhaps adding free lockers to one of the higher levels of membership and raising the price a tiny bit would be a good idea?
  13. Literally this thread has been created (and deleted) several times already by others I'm pretty sure. /lock
  14. Out goes one troll (or so he says), in comes another?
  15. It's superman - he's obviously going to be one of the most popular characters because he's the one everyone has heard of. Even for those living under a rock who have no clue who Green Lantern or the Flash is, they know who Superman is. There's a reason why along with Batman he gets so many movies.
  16. To similar to Jet Rescue honestly. I'd think one of those Mack spinning shuttle coasters they showed at IAAPA would be awesome for SW.
  17. Wet n Wild Sydeny is a nice water park Although the one at the Gold Coast is reener. (great ideas btw)
  18. That's great to hear despite the park going through some of its worst weeks ever, they're trying to bring it back on the other side in pristine condition.
  19. I'm sure there'd be someone on here crazy enough to check every car in MW's carpark for the plans. At least, until peak season starts.
  20. Doctor Who theme anyone? Doesn't look like a traditional Portaloo to me, I think @thunder001 is probably correct.
