  1. Makes sense. Not to get peoples hopes up, but I’m thinking that during the current ‘maintenance’ they’ll retheme it and give it a new name. And then next year they’ll get new trains, which Intamin will commission while they’re over here for King Claw. Dreamworld have created a page on their website for King Claw: https://www.dreamworld.com.au/rides-attractions/dreamworld/thrill-rides/king-claw/ Diverting the topic here, but when they were doing this campaign, can anyone remember if this code was figured out before it was confirmed by the park?
  2. Now that it’s been confirmed, I wonder if your overlay is right? I’d imagine it’ll swing the same way it currently does?
  3. I think you need to adjust your expectations for the Australian industry. While not impossible, it is very unlikely we’ll ever see either of those in the country. Therefore, ‘you won’t care’ about anything ever announced and it’s going to get very tiring very quickly if you share that opinion every single time. Don’t get me wrong, you’re more than welcome to share your opinion and I’m not saying it’s the wrong opinion, but just be mindful of if it’s necessary to publicly share it every time.
  4. Maybe it can? The reopening has been pushed back significantly.
  5. Motocoaster is now closed for the next five weeks. It was already scheduled to close for a couple of weeks next months (which I presumed was Rivertown related). But with this maintenance extended and the store recently receiving a repaint, could this be due to a refurb or generally is maintenance? I’m not expecting a track repaint, but a new theme overlay in the station, new signage and updating the stores fit out. Maybe Intamins Dreamworld announcement next week includes new trains? This is likely overthinking this, but one can hope (or be delusional)!
  6. That would be amazing and would make the event an instant sellout. Unfortunately it won’t happen.
  7. I mean, we can judge the Magic Kingdom version because it’s open. It is, but I suspect it’ll get the same overlay. And if it’s different/better, then we can say Disneyland has a superior version and the MK version isn’t as good.
  8. Pretty much! Obviously the way the info around the map is presented has changed many times, but the map style has remained relatively the same
  9. I’m sure a digital version will be more vibrant, because obviously a photo of a printed image with ambient natural lighting isn’t going to help that. The less colourful style of map is what the park used to do (not saying it’s better necessarily, but it aligns with the parks currently strategy to reintroduce the old style again). Here are some examples of those older maps for comparison.
  10. It looks like we’ll soon be getting a new park map. @Ogre shared this image showing part of a new style of park map (it’s on a sign in the wildlife area stating the path ahead is closed) Obviously this is still in progress as some rides have numbers and some done, but from this ‘draft’, it looks great!
  11. @New display name so you’re telling me, the Village Roadshow theme parks aren’t ’world class’ like we’ve been told countless times over the last decade?
  12. Because they say ‘new ride’, I don’t think it will be just that, I have a feeling (or maybe it’s just hope) that it’s something a lot more.
  13. The fact that this ride announcement has its own dedicated press conference at IAPPA, this is going to be good! I can’t imagine it’ll be something related to Motocoaster or any existing attractions because is that worthy of an announcement at a global event. Can’t wait to see what this is!
  14. Maybe not, but the splashdown pools are still empty. But you could be right about this because to operate all the slides they need at least four lifeguards (if it’s quiet enough) to operate them and so maybe they’re holding off until school holidays begin. I am surprised (or maybe disappointed) to see that the Wedgie wasn’t removed during the closure considering the park has confirmed it won’t be returning. And considering the fence around Triple Vortex looks temporary, hopefully that means it is and it will actually open this season. Photos from Jaggs Journey
  15. With WWW reopened, there’s a couple attractions with a delayed opening. Temple of Huey & Little Rippers are scheduled to reopen in a couple weeks. Triple Vortex is closed again and is apparently meant to reopen in October, but it was closed all of last season and possibly even the 2022 season. Makes me wonder if this attraction has got the same fate of The Wedgie (retiring). And another note, the speed slides of Fully 6 both still remain closed (presumably because the court case is still underway and they won’t reopen until that’s resolved). But essentially the WWW attraction lineup has pretty much returned to what it was 17 years ago. This park is in desperate need of a serious expansion.
  16. In Jaggs Journeys latest video, it shows that (unfortunately) the corrugated panels is visible on the front of the temple. Obviously final judgment will be reserved until complete, but based on its current state it is a shame that the temple theming doesn’t continue a little further down the side so it’s less obvious.
  17. @Noll_57 there’s less room than there was, but there’s certainly enough room for the newer carriages since they aren’t as wide as the originals
  18. I’d say every aspect of the ride will be new, but rather than saying the vintage cars are permanently closing (which people would be sad about) and here’s a new thing that’s basically the same (which people would complain/point out it’s just a new vintage cars), they’re saying it’s being ‘moved’.
  19. For everyone’s reference, this is the current view from Tiger Island
  20. This won’t happen until they develop the rocky hollow land for new attractions. They way it’s presented now is very tidy and well maintained, but it for sure the bare minimum that I’d expect. It’ll likely cost a couple hundred thousand to construct the new ramp and develop that area into something much nicer. The effort they did to try ‘clean up’ the ramping and stairs and hide the former rocky hollow station isn’t great, but again, until they are investigating into that area of the park it’ll remain as is.
  21. Anything’s possible! If DW are willing to pay and Intamin are willing to design a train to work with the correct wheel alignments for this track. But for me it doesn’t even need to be a spinning train, it just needs be a comfortable one!
