  1. From that photo it doesn't look like a ghost town. Seems there a few there.
  2. I was reading over some of th articles about this again, and they state that construction was supposed to begin in September 2016, for a mid-late 2017 opening. We haven't seen any construction, or site preparations since its announcement, so it seems that we might not be seeing this open this year. Unless they have and its on a site that we can't see from the road.
  3. TOT is currently in testing. Launched about three times so far.
  4. Also, despite there are only being the 4 options online, at the park you can also choose how many laps you do. I went on this just as it opened. Its awesome. $29 for 1 lap, $49 for 2 laps or $69 for 4 laps.
  5. We have some progress. The columns around the site for the fence, are being painted the white/cream like GLs and there are cables sticking out the top. There are also block fence posits between each concrete column, which will also be a part of the fence.
  6. I imagine they would've just removed them to make access to the motors much easier, so they can complete a full check. Once it is done, hopefully they'll just be put back in place.
  7. The LED displays now show the time as people go down the slide, and once they cross the finish it stops and then shows their position
  8. Buggy is now open And here's a short video of them in action:
  9. Went past the park at around 1pm today, and the carpark was nearly full. Was really great to see. Also, looks like a massive crowd watching the fire machine show tonight (Photo from Stand By Dreamworld)
  10. Just got a flyer in the post from DW about extended trading, what's on this summer and the fire machine show.
  11. When driving past MW last night and seeing the GL lit up in full, I was thinking, if this new coaster is themed to the Flash, I think it would be pretty cool if at the top the lift hill they had the Flash Logo that lit up in red, something similar to the GL one.
  12. ^Nope. Nothing new has been happening since those concrete columns were installed for the fence.
  13. Last week the crowds at WNW and MW were insane, WNW carpark was overflowing, and MW was nearly full. Rides at MW had queues up to 2hrs. Quiet the last couple of days due to NYD and the rain we've had, but would say it will pick up again from today.
  14. Someone asked DW on FB when the store would be open, and they said they are aiming for a late January opening.
  15. ^No that's the van which drives around the park, and is usually with Shaggy and Scooby-Doo during character apparences
  16. It is a shame they haven't been able to get them all open, and I'm sure DW would've wanted them to be too. But safety is number 1, and if they aren't satisfied with the ride then they won't open it until they are. I'm sure they would all be ready to go and operating for the waster holidays, and by then LEGO will be open too. So that will hopefully be a better period for them.
  17. That is a good point you make. I imagine the park is receiving plenty of comments about the lack of larger riders in the park, and suppose having that there is a way to, as you say, ease people's frustration. It's another 2-3 years (depending on when in 2019 it opens) before a new ride will open, and doubt we would see work begin, in regards to demolition until early next year. They may decide to remove the station after the holidays, and try to make use of that space with something temporary, whether that is seating, shelter, garden or food stall.
  18. Mystery Inc Van has been seen on a tow truck leaving the park. But have heard from others that in the past it has been seen leaving the park due to it breaking down.
  19. They made the announcement of DD and the villians area on Feb 23 last year. So I'm thinking that we would see an announcement from the park with more details about the ride around the same.
  20. Just a thought, if the reason for closure was due to it being an in house built ride, and they have already got a sign saying they will be announcing a new ride soon, would they have had to have plans for a new ride in the area for quite some time? Does anyone know generally/estimated how long it would take between a park contacting a manufacturing, to getting approval to install a ride in the future, and then an announcement/work beginning. It's only been a month since the ride closed, so maybe they had already planned to close the ride, or were looking into replacing it at some point, and were already in talks of a new ride. But then I suppose they did have the ride scheduled for maintence for 6 months end of this year. Maybe the DW incident pushed the park to close the ride now, resulting in the plans for a new ride to be pushed forward, even though it won't be opening until 2019.
