  1. I'd rather staff in safety roles (loading, unloading) be focused on safety rather than pleasantry's. My question, and not just to the OP but to all of you is, how many of you thank/acknowledge the ride attendant's when they do acknowledge you? They may be paid but I'd hazard a guess they get little response and eventually wear down from trying and give up. That Scooby unloader would be a boring lonely job, and at the moment not one I'd want. The amount of disappointed faces coming your way would be tiresome, not to mention how many times you'd be asked "when is it getting fixed" a day. Whilst it may be guttered, at least it is open. My 6yr old son loved the ride (his first true roller coaster ride) in its current form and will loose his s**t when it is themed again, he's a mental Scooby Doo fan.
  2. No idea, but I imagine if a ride at my Theme Park killed 4 people, my insurers would be searching for every possible risk there is and try to mitigate it where possible.
  3. DC Rivals has a minimum height and age. But the change will be insurance driven no doubt.
  4. @Levithian so what you're suggesting (which was my thought too) is that they rebuild the bogies not in service, then swap the seats across during the maintenance window to reduce time pressures. Then gradually rebuild the now spare bogies that had been in service for the previous 12 months?
  5. And everyone is "they should bring it back" but when asked to help, none of them will dip into their own pockets.
  6. Change your google and Facebook advertising ID, then switch them to private. Stops those ads being targeted to you, if you've ever wondered how "they know" what you are into.
  7. SpongeBob 3D isn't listed as being closed. Perhaps the penguins are just closed for the week to allow for crane access for after hours removal of the flume on top of the castle?
  8. Oops, I read the due date. I'll be in the corner with my pointy hat on
  9. I've only got the DA basics to go off, not sure how that applies to existing works. Perhaps they went "oh shit, we need approval to knock down what is now a pile of rubble" and sorted it out after the fact. Didn't realise that Buzzsaw was still not working after that stoppage the other week.
  10. TRRR station removal works? A DA was approved two days ago for "Demolition" at Dreamworld http://pdonline.goldcoast.qld.gov.au/masterview/modules/applicationmaster/default.aspx?page=wrapper&key=264887
  11. Either availability of equipment and labour, or, s**t boss that looks like it needs replacing pretty soon before it falls on somebody.
  12. Drove back from the coast after the Tim Minchin concert last night. That stands out so brilliantly, without being blinding. Heading north, it "hovers" above the highway. I don't think the Joker was illuminated last night though (was during the day). It was about 9.40pm when we passed by.
  13. You could theme it to the former Dreamworld helicopter experi... oh, on second thoughts probably not.
  14. Someone was going to say it. And I hang around with train people, a different kind of strange to theme park people.
  15. With friends like these who needs enemies.
  16. I think you're onto it. Mum is evil eyeing the boy, whilst he looks away
  17. Even the ABC has been looking for it http://www.abc.net.au/news/2018-02-07/what-happened-dragon-coaster-tops-myer-centre-brisbane/9369924
  18. And what they are willing to invest in a dated ride that may be consumed by the 'grand long term plan' for the entire Eureka/Rapids/Blue Lagoon/Studio area.
  19. Is DC Rivals simply easier to maintain due to age and design, or do they recognize it's a draw-card and only close it for as little as possible (with perhaps after hours maintenance as well)?
  20. Facebook is a huge generator of customers. A group I'm involved with has been able to nearly triple its visitors on open days, by regular Facebook posts and posting to suitable Facebook groups. Nearly doubled our followers in 10 months.
  21. Not ridden it recently, but when I do, first few rows only. Less violent at the front. Will ride a couple of times, but never in a row. Told you DC Rivals wasn't just talk
  22. Rivals - it's not hype. It is that good. It's about the best fun I've had with pants on.
