  1. best thing about dodgems is they are stock standard and can be found anywhere, so you're not 'giving away the gate' so to speak, but as evidenced by every show i've been to, they are popular for the right price.
  2. Also think you're overestimating my care levels. Was just pointing out the "unreliable Intamin" is a thing. Accurate or not, its a thing.
  3. I know even less than both of you, but even I've heard of the "Intamin Curse" and its reputation for unreliable rides, particularly coasters. From what I've seen its mostly spurred on by Americans. As for actual statistics, no idea.
  4. Better yet, move it to SW, theme it to a dumping wave and call it the Wipeout. That should clear things up.
  5. As said above, Guest Services has the say, but it can't help to take a doctors certificate green lighting you for Guest Services to sight. The theme parks don't want to have the added liability of injuring your injury which is why they are overly cautious. If your doc cert says something along the lines that the forces from the rides will not re-injure or stop/slow down the healing process it would help. As said a million times over, GC Theme Parks lean on caution due to insurance reasons.
  6. And as communicated by the park, is scheduled for the next mini repaint this year.
  7. Completely agree that commercial hardware (incl TVs) is required, but on a technicality a Raspberry pi is a media server and often used in commercial applications.
  8. Standards for passing video have updated since 2005. They likely will use a different method and need new cables if they are replacing (or no cables). With exception of power of course. I feel like we aren't changing power delivery anytime soon.
  9. I think you answered your own question. Even if they are waiting until the next maintenance period. they likely have a window to strip, clean and repaint the track. As for construction, we have seen how long deconstruction took, I assume construction would be slightly longer, but could be done similarly with SE closing for a couple days here and there for works that is better done during the day, needs longer timeframes or just purely, the skilled labor required won't work out of hours.
  10. I think (maybe??) Regie means alter the light package to be themed to the night events. eg, red/green for Christmas
  11. Wow what a weird slab and footer alignment. Wonder what could be going in?
  12. Assuming thats the entire ride cost? Building, talent, VFX ect ect?
  13. It's been said on here before that B&M have been looked into but didn't fit the bill for what the parks wanted. Price wasn't the issue.
  14. It was mentioned on this forum in a random thread somewhere that the external company who ran the Sky Coaster went bankrupt. As for why no one else has stepped in, I guess that's up for debate. Potentially if a company goes bankrupt, there is a reason why and at the core of it is not enough positive cash flow.
  15. very obvious because you're looking for it, or very obvious and everyone including kids would notice.
  16. Sure the sign is a few screws but I think the poles are concreted in and that's a little more effort to fix as once they are out they need to fix the concrete again.
  17. Storm could also vs Wild West since WW now rolls and rarely floats..
  18. Late to the party, but the green button just needs a clear plastic cover over it. not locked, just simple flip up and the Public pushing it issue will go away.
  19. Pre-recorded messages are 100% ignored because they are put on repeat so much and always sound the same so people switch off when hearing them. It could potentially work for Leviathan since its a closed environment with a captive audience, but honestly I don't think its worth the investment there.
