  1. That was never realistically happening it was just a random idea I had that I thought “could” work
  2. Just had a quick solo stop in at MW as I haven’t had a chance in months. Carpark busy due to still school holidays in southern states and the far eastern state (NZ). DCR standard queue was only down to the bottom of the ramp, probably 10mins tops, yay for single rider queue I didn’t even have to wait a single cycle, up the ramp straight into Row 10 which remains my favourite outside of Row 1. 2 trains runnings. still haven’t ridden SDSC in “thematic enhancement mode” so thought I’d give it a go... yeah no thanks, most of the entry hall was completely full.. I’ll wait for 2.0 SE was pretty busy, GL closed, so figured I’d have a go on DD. Again single line walked straight on into a seat next to a Chinese tourist who was quite upset when her iPhone fell out of her pocket and exploded into 1000 pieces mid ride... good to see Robin still in park and roaming for photos, wish they’d do the same with Penguin & Riddler.
  3. TVC’s filming next Monday/Tuesday nights. Can nominate yourself to go along for filming on MW FB Page.
  4. Yeah, because that was worth revisiting a 9 month old thread...
  5. Haha... you raise some very good points @AlexB it was more of an idea rather than a well thought out concept haha I think it is something they could do a cost/benefit analysis on and see if they could make it worthwhile, though I entirely doubt it is something we will see happen.
  6. *warning* Here comes an “out there” suggestion.... VTP clearly want as many people in the TG precinct of an evening as possible.. what about making DCR open from 5:30-9 on fri/sat nights? A bridge direct links TG to MW basically via what could be an entry to DCR. So main park entry is not open. They make it a Pay-per-ride of say $10 ($15 backwards) and obviously pass holders get free access. Could be packaged up to create a ‘combo’ with TG as well. Cost to the park would be 3 operators, a maintenance/tech and security”. They’d probably need to sell say 50-60 pay per rides as a break even, which they’d do in spades currently as TG has been having 2+ hour waits for a bay of an evening. “Ride DCR while you wait for you tee off” *told you it was out there, but I think it Could work...*
  7. I stayed at the Super 8 Anaheim on West Katella Bvd last time - it was a convenient 10min walk to DL. It was 18 years ago though haha, a quick google maps search shows it’s still there. The continental breakfast consisted of trays of Donuts. But who doesn’t want donuts for breakfast...
  8. Blindfolds with glow in the dark stars on them?
  9. Hillbilly Slasher 3... #bringbackTheFilmVault
  10. Are you avoiding Disney on purpose?
  11. At 18-19 they won’t experience Vegas to its fullest so better to let them do that when they’re older. I’ve never done Orlando, so can only recommend Disneyland. A week in Anaheim with a 5 day park hopper for DL/CA will give you plenty of flexibility to come and go whilst you do other things. All the hotels are pickup points for day trips to Universal, Knotts, Hollywood, San Diego, Tijuana - if you don’t opt to hire a car.
  12. I don’t like your opinion haha... but I didn’t explain mine well. in all honesty I was being overly generalising. I 100% stick by my opinion that the monorail at SW being a form of transport only, and not a ride or attraction. How a means of transport elevates to be being a ride or attraction in my mind is when the experience is themed, or by partaking in that form of transport you see or have an experience you wouldn’t have if you just walked (and I’m not talking about simply seeing the park from more high up as there isn’t anything at the park in SW’s case designed to be viewed from above). The old DW paddlesteamer for instance is a ride/attraction - you experienced a show you couldn’t see Any other way. Ditto the backlot tour when it existed at MW or the one at US. The train at DL from Memory (its been along while) takes you past scenes/locations you wouldn’t see. I’d consider a horse drawn cart or a horse & carriage farm tour an attraction as that is a very unique experience that would generally take you somewhere new.
  13. Think you quoted the wrong person @pushbutton
  14. Quality GC Bulletin accident at Westfield Coomera, ambulance photo at WnW/AOS haha
  15. The monorail isn’t a ride, or an attraction. It’s a mode of transport for people who can’t be bothered walking. So unless “Walking to the Dolphin Show” gets listed as a ride, I wouldn’t expect the Monorail to be there.
  16. I don’t see VR as a huge threat to theme parks at all, no more so than Game Over is across the road (who VTP actually provide discounts for Members at) or Timezone/iPlay. They operate in a different space and are battling largely for different dollars. The only natural true competitor to theme parks is other theme parks. Tourists generally don’t decide whether they are going to Movieworld or Timezone, or Dreamworld or Infinity. It’s Movieworld or Dreamworld, Timezone or Infinity. One is a major tent pole attraction, the others are secondary attractions
  17. Scooby is by far the most restrictive from what I’ve seen with guests being escorted off. Superman would be next. I’ve never seen anyone not make it on DCR, but in saying that I’ve only ridden it 5 or 6 times vs probably 50 on the others
  18. I wasn’t advocating them selling WnW, just saying IF another park was on the chopping block, i believe that would be the choice - based purely on its seasonality and that Parques may have signified an interest in taking on both parks. In further hindsight, PC may be an attractive purchase for Merlin and fits within the type of attraction they already run in NSW & Sunshine Coast.
  19. Catch up McFly... we’ve known the name for over a month...
  20. Wet n Wild GC would be next cab off the ranks I’d imagine.
